  1. As above, need to be usable, don't need to be mounted, prefer a hard compound. Would love soon pro line badlands or similar.
  2. We all know that clone parts are inferior, there is no other way to describe it. Original manufacturers make them cheap in order to allow them to sell them at a profitable price, cloners make them cheaper allowing them to sell them cheaper. Cheaper materials = inferior. It's not a debate as far as i am concerned, anybody who puts clones on par with originals must be deluded. Has no one ever seen The Sixth Day?
  3. Do yourself a favour and go down the Losi or Baja route, i was after a blackout when they first hit the scene but was quickly put off by reviews and peoples opinions of them.
  4. This sort of thing happens to Km wheels... No such problems with Silverbacks due to the reinforced design.
  5. Shaktar, please respond to PM's on here and other forums from members who have bought things that have not been received.
  6. I have had a box of various IRC shock parts lying in my shed for months.... I sorted through them, binned a few broken parts... 40 minutes later and the old man has a set of big bores ready to fit. Hopefully he'll be chuffed
  7. There was a NEB bash today, but dad and i decided to opt out and instead chose to go somewhere more local, 7 miles vs 70 miles, no brainer really. The good news is my stripping spur gear issue is fixed, managed to run for an hour today with no breakdowns, playing cat and mouse the old man, thoroughly enjoyed it (I still cant drive though). Fun ended when dad snapped one of the screws that holds the steering arms to his front hubs, but an easy fix - The cleaning was another story.... I looted Silverback RC HQ yesterday and made off with a 7ft banner and a truely unique shock brace, naturally i fitted it to the old mans ride as it suits his theme better than mine. They're now both clean and ready for next time, we're going to try and get them out more often than previously.
  8. Love builds like this, hope you get on alright with the Hostile beadlocks, there has been numerous reports of them cracking, even cracking whilst being fitted. You don't want rigid beadlocks, you want firm but flexible.
  9. Ok so it looks like the rear plate was bent, i got a replacement from Robert @ Innovative RC last weekend and i have finally got everything fitted and ready to go today. New black arms all round and new rear plate as well as front MX's. Looking good if i do say so myself This is what i've modelled it off
  10. Clutch looks ok to me, i'd run it. Some fine sand paper to the rust on flywheel and coil and solder the connectors straight onto the coil also.
  11. How did you do this, i can't get my head around it lol. Where have you taken the 45mm off? Nvm, i can see now you have butchered the radio box
  12. Looking good mate, it has had some abuse by the looks of things. I'd take the opportunity to pull the gearbox and service that also, you want to make sure you have an alloy case filled with oil, as opposed to grease. Can you take a photo of the clutch square on so i can have a look at the shoes please?
  13. I'm pretty sure Julian owns MMR? I never suggest changing oil, keep to what you start with, i started with TTS, and now use TTS's replacement, think it's T (then a number), does the job ok..
  14. As said, nice and canny for a tank or two, and then boot it. Let the engine get up to temperature before giving it too much welly also.
  15. I saw the picture of the plug and cringed, glad it's running now though.
  16. You get what you pay for, it's as simple as that i'm afraid.
  17. Rob doesn't make front towers i'm afraid, but as everyone has said Rob really is a top bloke.
  18. Royal mail do not allow batteries to be posted.
  19. Aye, but you weren't the first to suggest this as the problem
  20. PROGRESS! I must've taken a bad hit/had a rough landing as i've managed to twist the rear chassis, got onto Rob @ IRC and he's replacing it, as it does come with no questions warranty. Doesn't look lethal, but where is it positioned it must've been enough to through the mesh out. I also found a bent Hostile Heim, going to get onto BikeSeat and see if GC motorsport offer some, his come with lifetime warranty Watch this space for more updates coming over the weekend, i think.
  21. Yesterday didn't go too well, this is the result of less than half an hour or running, nothing is getting hot, and i tried a new pinion... I'm thinking something might be twisted and messing up the mesh. What a royal PITA! Any thoughts?
  22. Yesterday's outing was a disaster, . Looking forward to Crimdon next weekend though. Got the re-build almost finished, got a full set of black RPM's
  23. Futaba is in a different league to Spektrum.
