  1. Hi folks. I bought one of these a while back and I am looking to sell it on. But I have no idea what to ask for it. Currently have it in my for sale thread at
  2. Saturday morning bumpage! Can now post if needed. Cheers
  3. Saturday morning bumpage! Nobody want to make any offers?
  4. Early morning bump. Reasonable offers considered
  5. Morning bumpage. Still not splitting but I am open to reasonable offers. Cheers
  6. Hi folks Everything is now sold, except the Bravo SX Deluxe - I am open to reasonable offers: Nine Eagles Bravo SX Heli, with 3 batteries, and 1 set of spare rotors - in original carry case with instructions, charger etc. Like new - only used a few times. (
  7. As title really. Looking to get some now I have got an electric set up, but I am reading mixed things. Seems like a lot of what is on sale is cheapo chinese knock offs that wouldn't actually be any help if a lipo went up. Ideally want something that is tried and tested in an actual lipo fire, rather than the zillion reviews I have read along the lines of: "Very good quality although I haven't had a Lipo fire yet to fully comment (hopefully not)". I also note a distinct lack of video evidence from sellers of these lipo bags, and it makes me suspect that a lot of them would be about as much use as a chocolate teapot. So recommendations based on real world tried and tested fire protection would be great please, rather than 'it looks great'. Cheers
  8. We had a healthy turn out a couple of years back but things have petered out. Andy still carries the torch though, always has to be fair I am still here, lurking. I drift in and out of the forum, but I have tried to keep tabs on the hobby for the last couple of years. For me, I have not had anything to run for a while. Bought a house nearly 2 years ago, so sold up (for a 2nd time ) to help pay the fees etc. But now I have a Losi 2.0 T that I am converting to leccy. I now finally have all the bits I need after 7 months of getting bits as and when I can. Only trouble is I am getting married in a few weeks and the bride does not know I have quietly been diverting some of my wages to buy a few bits and bobs over the last few months so I cant really whip it all out and go "ta-dah!" - she might actually have an aneurysm!! Once the wedding is out of the way, I will be back up and running 'officially' with a car. Having said that, I can see myself also needing a big 1:5 if what I hear about that Blackout is true! Cheers
  9. ===SORTED PLEASE CLOSE=== As title really. I am after a Xerun 150A ESC. Must be in full working order and in good condition. Ideally would like it with Deans connectors on too, but no worries if not. Would consider other 1:8 ESC's also, for the right price. Cheers
  10. That is the drive pinion. Normally when they start stripping it is because of a bad mesh with the crown gear on the diff itself, or because the pinion is incompatible with the crown gear (IE wrong number of teeth).
  11. Personally I have never had good experiences in model shops. I have only been to a few but my issues have been mainly: Disinterested staff Staff that do not have a clue what they are talking about No sign of any discounts after dropping a big wad of cash in their till Poor levels of stock / choice Any staff that are interested have an agenda - they want to sell me what they want me to buy - not what I want Obviously it is by no means an accurate representation of model shops as a whole. Another aspect of the internet effecting the high street is research. I don't actually need the advice of my hobby shop because I can come here, or go to any other number of online resources - I can see reviews, pictures and videos of the cars and kit I am interested in and it will often have far less bias than a shop owner with an interest in making money out of me. With distance selling rules, the shop as an entity is defunct - and it is a good thing for consumers. Technology and trends move on. iTunes was unpopular with those still wanting the physical CD. Now it, along with other online media retailers, are seeing steadily increasing sales figures year on year. The likes of HMV have felt the full force of the overall consumer decision that digital media procured online is what they want. It is only a matter of time before digital music sales overtake physical ones as CD sales have declined rapidly in recent years, and continue to do so. I can get the singles / albums I want and have them playing on my iPod at the click of a button or two. I don't even have to leave my house - which is great for me as I often work 7 days a week. Not to mention the music is cheaper! What could be better for a consumer than cheap and convenient content? Why would I bother going to a shop? You even get digital copies of album art and bonus content these days too, and with the increase in availability of lossless audio tracks, there really is no need to go to a shop anymore. It is sad for people losing their jobs, but the march of progress cannot be halted for those who choose not to keep up - or in the case of MZ make woeful investment decisions. It is cliche, but the adage "move with the times or get left behind" is very apt and has been an irrefutable nugget of truth for centuries. And if you needed any proof that local hobby shops can be successful, just take a look at somewhere like Wheelspin Models. I remember his place when it was a little shop down some back street, nowhere near the main town at all. Now the difference between him and Modelzone, is he recognised that rising high street rent and the increasing popularity of internet retail meant the better investment was to expand the mail order business rather than increasing his premises portfolio. Likewise, he saw that high street shopping was hassle. Difficult to park, and even more difficult for any large deliveries as the infrastructure is often not cut out for commercial vehicles. So he chose a retail park. Loads of free parking and easy to get to for customers and delivery drivers. In the age of the car, and reduced use of public transport easy access and parking is far more important to consumers than shopping in a quaint little high street. Customers want convenience and the idea that we should be holding on to our high street stores is just silly. Of course, use the spaces - but for something other than shops. The high street needs to evolve as retail is heading towards out of town retail parks and shopping centres. It seems to me the only place that high street shopping belongs is in our memories. I can see a few ways that high street regeneration could happen. Realistic rent for one. Changing landlord / business laws another. But even then, the expectations and wants of the average consumer is not conducive to high street retail. "The company's 47 stores will remain open but the website has been shut down. Gift vouchers can still be used, but will only be worth 50% of their original value, the company said" SOURCE
  12. I have still not received the Castle 2200 motor that I paid for on 21st May. This seller has ignored all correspondence, both on here and on MBUK. He has also completely ignored all of the Paypal correspondence in regard to the dispute and the claim. I cannot recommend this seller to anyone. Fortunately I paid by PayPal goods (this seller initially asked me to use gift - which further increases my suspicions he could be a scammer). As such Paypal has found in my favour in the claim I have made. However, the chances are his PayPal account (which is actually in his friends/relatives name) will be empty so even though I may get my money back, he has done someone, somewhere out of money. Not good, and certainly not honest. So in principle I have to call this seller a scammer. The member that was dealing with him on another item over on MBUK has also had no joy in getting an honest response from this seller, only empty promises. He has also not yet received the item he paid for. I should note also that BusyBeingBorn actually sold the H9 kit on Ebay. Beware of this seller. I advise that you avoid at all costs. (not that I think you will have to - he has scammed his money and run. I doubt he will ever come back here - but if he does, avoid him) Thanks
  13. Admittedly I don't think I have ever run that combination, so I am not sure if it will be that causing your problem or not. I have had two ST Pro brushless cars and never had issues. That said I was only running 3-4S so there was less stress on the drive train. However, given the torque in a lot of brushless motors these days, I would also look into your throttle and brake settings as well as the gearing. It could be that torque spikes when you punch the throttle, or use the brakes are over stressing the drive train.
  14. Never mix your diffs and pinions on the ST mate. You either need to run ST diff with ST pinion, or H7 diff with H7 pinion. Otherwise you are in for trouble.
  15. The forum won't let you send PM's to someone who has a full inbox. It allowed me to send them so his inbox must not be full. The paypal dispute is all done through the email address provided as it is less likely to go into his junk box than if I sent one myself. Finally none of it explains why he has been on the forum and not even read my pm. Even though he has posted over at mbuk during the same time period. The member he has sold to over there is also having issues. I will happily amend all comments and rescind the PayPal dispute if he can provide a satisfactory solution to this problem. Cheers
  16. I paid for the Castle 2200 KV motor on 21/05/2013. It has still not been delivered. Seller is not responding to PM's even though he has visited this forum and been on the Maxbashing forum too. Just thought other members should also be aware there seems to be an issue over on MBUK too ( http://www.maxbashing.com/mbforum/showthread.php?47297-Spektrum-DX3S-radio-gear ). I have filed a PayPal dispute. Thanks.
  17. The front CVD's for the Hyper ST Pro are a few MM shorter than the rear. If you use the fronts in the rear, they barely fit into the drive cup on the diff (as your picture shows) and as soon as you use the car properly, they will pop out. It could be that they have mixed up the CVD's so check how your front arms are sitting when you hold the car in the air and let them hang under the weight of the wheels. If rear CVD's have been used in the front, the dog bone end will be rammed into the drive cup pretty far and the arm will not 'hang' properly. Easy mistake to make, I would remove all 4 and check their lengths. If they are all the same lenght as the one in your photo you have 4 fronts. If there are ones that are slightly longer - they will be rears. Cheers
  18. It is since they introduced gold membership mate. Every member who is not gold appears to have had their PM quota cut to 25 (thats 25 messages, not conversations). Check your own inbox as you will probably have too many messages too, but the PM message box does not tell you that. You have to "use full editor" to get the correct message. I think these kinds of changes should have been circulated via an admin newsletter / email as it is very inconvenient. Cheers (PS his inbox could be full too, though)
  19. Sorry - my mistake - Stupid forum. Was saying you could not receive any further messages. But when you go to use full editor it changes and says I am unable to send further messages. Didn't realise that all of a sudden I was only allowed 25 PM's. What a load of rubbish. Anyways, I was interested in some stuff but I see you have sold everything I wanted already. Cheers EDIT - I can also no longer use chat. Nice one MSUK. Thanks.
  20. Can you delete some PM's please as you are unable to receive any messages. Cheers
  21. Did you mix your diffs and pinions between H7 ones and ST ones? The two are not compatible. You either have to use ST diff + pinion or H7 diff + pinion. You shouldn't use an ST diff and H7 pinion and vice versa. On my ST Pro, I had thin, round metal spacers that went on one side of the diff and slot into a little groove in the diff case but they were used on one side of the diff only. Did you have these in yours? I know from experience that if these are missing it can cause issues in proper ST Pro diffs. If you are using H7 diffs, though, they don't tend to have them.
