Get hold of a Xmods drifter or Mini Z Kyosho. I have an Gen 1 Xmods Skyline set up with 4wd modified motor & Drift tyres. It is fantastic for drifting indoors when the weather is rubbish outside. IU sure you will be able to find one on ebay.

Hay there fellow Nothern Irelander. Just lock them using the "locking your diffs" tips on the start of the of this drift forum. I locked my mates E10 for him and it was easy enough. Buying the locked diff kit for the E10 is expencive because you have to buy the universal shafts to fit the. If you need any help let me know. Were u from mate?

Totaly agree with all the replys. Vapextech batterys are fantastic value for money. I have been using a few of them for over a year & recomended them to loads of people.

Here is another of my latest drift style shells on my Tamiya TT01 chassis. This time I used Tamiya Iridecent paint & chrome decals.

Are you going to use the standard Tamiya rim's or buy something a bit different? Would say the Hpi tyres would be easyer to get hold of here in the UK. But as I said before I use something different myself. The tyres I use are 26mm and they have the option of turning them around so they overhang the outside of the rim slightly to protect the rim its self if you using chrome rims. Hello again. There are 2 difernces to the best of my knowledge. Yokomo superdrifts will be more exspecive and would me 26mm wide, Were as the Tamiya superdrift are a little cheaper they are only 24mm wide. Most standard rims are 26mm wide.

Cool idea's mate. But as the said above the Iridecent Pink/ Gold is more of a clear pearl base coat than a colour. Should look pretty good though. As fgor the masking. There is a guy on ebay UK that makes Masking sets for 1/10th scaled cars. I have used them on a couple of projects and they are good if used correctly as instructed. The great thing about the RX7 is no flared arches to masking a big pain. Hay there! Have you locked you diff's on you TT01? Its better for larger arch drifting if you lock both of them. Locking just the rear can make the car av real handfull to control. Specialy when you just starting out. Finding the right surface to run you Drift car on mate is one of the first things you should work out before you decide what tyres to buy. I run my car most of the time on a tarmac tennis court & a new built car park. If you going to be running on a ruff road you will most likely need to just stick to ABS or PVC pipe and you might not get the full fun out of drifting. I would say too that Avoid Sushi Drift tyres unless you are buying them directly from the US. They are sold in the UK But you can buy more sets from US for very little extra money. Thats what the guys in the UK are doing and make alot of money on selling them off in sets of 4 in the uk. I do have sets of them here and they seem to all come in different sizes. I had the sand down some of my rim's to get them to fit. Was to much hassel in the long term. As for Drift tyres being hard to fit. Its easy realy. What you do is the place 2 of you wheels in a cup of boiled water and wait 30 seconds. Have you wheels right beside you. Take the tyres out after 30sec with a knife ( Caution!!!! The water & tyres will be Very Very Warm ). Place ove rthe wheel as quickly as pos and leave to cool. They will then shrink and fit nice and tight. There are video's on youtube of how to do it. Also remember never to put Chrome plated wheels into the boiling water as the Chrom paint can come off. Only place the tyres only in the water. As for Tyres. Yes mate Tamiya Super Drifts & HPI T-Drifts are great tyres. Super drifts are fine but If I'am correct they only come as a 24mm wide tyre ( somebody correct me if I'am wrong ). I use a differnt tyres all together from Japan. You can buy it in a choice of compound depending on how fast you want to Drift or how much power you have. I have quite a few sets of them here. They give me great all round options & have a good life span. There aslo around the same price as Tamiya & T-Drifts. I have all 3 different kinds of Brand new Tyres here if you interested. Set of Super drifts on Silver wheel. I also keep wheels here also. Love having different options when talking pictures of my custom painted bodyshells that I also sell. As for motors. I have always used a good 27T motor as I find it gives me more than enough power to drift & straight line speed. Some people would rather have more power but I dont see then need. I'am a great believer in Longer running time over power. If you only wanted to up the power a little on a tight budget then buy a little Ansmann Clash 28T motor. My mate uses one on his tt01 and it goes well. Then you would even have to worry about changing you ESC. If you need any other advice please just ask.

Here my little bit Old School Drifter. The Amazing little MK1 on my TT01 chassis. Hav'nt had chance to run it yet due to the weather. But as you will see I fitted a Cockpit set from a tamiya Skyline to set of the overall look a little better. What do you all think?

Cool mate. You should also spray the rear spoiler & Door mirrors in the same way then get some clear acrylic spay to protect it and put a shine on them. I have done this loads of times with all different bodyshells and it works a treat. Or you could Carbon detail the rear spoiler to set off the overall effect. Ether way mate well done on the overall look.

Is a 7T Brushless system not overkill for drifting? I did'nt think you would need to go that large to get the best out of any chassis to make it drift well. I use just a Trinity 27T Monster motor and my TT01 drifts sweeter than my mates Yokomo witha 19T motor in it. I take it you have looked both diff's on you TT01E? What drift tyres are you running?

Find yourself a Nice Tarmac all weather tennis court. Im sure there will be one somewere near were you live. Good Luck.

Love Skyline's . Those GT-R34 Z-Tuned kits are nice. Tamiya also do a few other skylines to. Standard kits are quite easy to covert for Drift use. I run a standard TT01 with some upgrades with a Nissan Skyline R34 Z-tuned shell on my. All I have realy done is fit oil filled shocks, Upgraded motor, Bearings & drift wheels and thats about it. I started off as pretty much standard and then upgraded as I went along. Tamiya Drift spec kits are good value for money because of the upgrades that come as standard with them ( Bearings, Upgraded Motor, Oil Shocks & adjustable upper arms. If you looking a car built to drift mate give me a shout as I have loads of Chassis, Skyline Shells & wheels. I'am sure I have something that might interest you.

PS-16 is the correct colour mate. Best backed with silver to get a nice deep finish. I have painted all the tamiya Subaru shells in the past, but only recently painted one in works colours.

Hay there everybody. Looking a bit of advice on how to set up and adjust a ball diff for the first time. I have just bought an Ansmann Mad Rat buggy and built the Ball Diff. But I have no idea what I would be looking for as regard to how tight it should be to get the best out of it. It also has a Slipper Clutch so any advice about adjusting these to would be fantastic. This is my first buggy with these on so any help would be great.

Please correct me if I'am wrong anyone on this. When your looking for motors to upgrade you Dual Hunter you will need to look for motors that run at the same speed in reverse as forward. Front gearbox / Motor on these truck run's reverse to the back one. So you would need to avoid advanced timed motors.

Yes mate this shell should fit with you 9mm offset wheels. Tamiya TT01's are just under 190mm wide & 257mm wheelbase. I fited a Hpi Mustang shell to my TT01 with there Retro Drift wheels & tyres sets and it fits very well.

Also should have asked. Are Brushless speed controllers like brushed speed controllers? What I meen is I bought a 9T motor & ESC brushless package could I then change the motor to the likes of a 13T Brushless or does the speedo have to match the motor to get the best out of it? Can anyone tell me how you work out what the Equivalent Brushless to brushed motors are? Sort of what would be 27t Brushed / 19t Brushed in Brushless terms please. Dont want to buy some big cray brushless system just some thing around 27 or 19 turn brushed. Would rather have good run time over power. Thanks for reading

I got into RC hobby because of the fantastic looking Tamiya TL01 Ford Focus. Alway was a big fan of rallying ( coming from Northern Ireland its in our blood ). Wanted to kit because it was a Rally car look but on an on road only chassis. Now after many years I have around 20 tamiya cars. Including all the Tamiya Escort Cosworth kits. What I did with my TL01 was to run is on an All weather pitch that had a footpath/car part beside its to get the feel of both on and off road action. Loved it! Well worth a go if you want to do something to get you kicks out of sideways. I have a few Tamiya TB01 chassis that came with Inner Dust covers to keep out the dirt. I also have 2 Kyosho Pure Ten Rallys & Hpi RS4 Rally that cam with inner dust covers too. Somewere in my roof space there is also a Brand new built Losi Rally Weapon. This was voted as a top rally car when it came out. Mybe you should look into finding one of these cars and starting the crazy off for rally/Rally cross action. I took to drifting withrally style bodyshells to get my kicks out of the on road sideways stuff. Now with the new retro racing MK1 & Mk2 bodyshell out there it is only going to get people back to thinking about Rally style action. No mate the 510 shell wont fit you TT01 chassis. Tamiya TT01 and alot of the other tamiya chassis are around 185mm wide & 257mm wheelsbase. The onbly way you could get this bodyshell to fit you TT01 would be the Buy the Yeah Racing TT01 / M-Chassis conversion kit. If you were looking to fit a HPI shell to a TT01 chassis you would be better buying a set of 4 or 5mm off-set wheels to fill the arches. But if you looking a Bodyshell to fit you TT01 PM me and i will send you a link to my work and you will see what I can do. I have loads of shells here painted & ready to paint. I'am sure I have something that would suit you ok.

Ya mate agree with you there on the Tamiya Gold not being the right colour for the decals. I never even looked at the instruction on my Porsche because I know I was'nt going to do the Box art colours anyway/ If you want to send me the wing mate I could carbon detail it for you like my one is. Is that any good to ya? Will also have a look in my box's of parts as I think somewere in the vast chasm of parts there my just be a wing for one.
