  1. Several of us have this printer. You will most likely be stung with a £32.xx love letter from Fedex too on top. But, for less than £200, with a little care (and luck) you have a great little introduction to the black art! TamiyaCowboy has a twin extruder, meaning he can in theory print separate materials or different colours. Have a look on ebay, there's a few for £250 - 350 readily available.
  2. Get it built! Glad to hear you have a positive outcome with a spot of cleaning. Expect to do a little in the bore of the Z / X 3d printed parts where the brass nuts mount. We hope to see parts by the end of the week
  3. 20mm vertical from the fixing hole and 20mm from the inside of the front face. All measured with a trusty steel rule - bear in mind, it's not super critical with belts, they will follow the bearings
  4. I've just measured that thingiverse part, it's too small to fit. I'll get you some dimensions, it'll be easy for a cnc laser
  5. :( Keep at them, sorry to hear a few failures have crept in This any good for the part you need?
  6. if there's no swarf or other contaminant, it may well be not cut correctly. The screw cut bar may be bent too, they're down to a cost in most cases on these. You'd be looking for a 8mm x 2mm pitch trapezoidal brass nut. I doubt you'll be able to pick one up - erm - China seems to be the cheapest place Use a small needle file to clean off any rough / high spots, see where it leads you? Is there any sharp edges on any of the cut sections?
  7. I too had a few issues, when tightened to a reasonable torque it all locked up. I replaced the nuts with self locking nyloc types and 'just nipped' them enough to hold the brass nut in place. I've not touched it since. Bear in mind you'r driving 2 motors from the single driver too, a touch more power is needed I found. The machine isn't rigid. But it's good enough for what it is imo.
  8. Mayzie, is it the the 2 front parts, one either side of the bearing that are missing? They're 8mm acrylic pieces that have a bit of a hook to them. Mine was assembled in the box oddly? If so, I'll see if I can find something. Tamiyacowboy, nice looking prints, are they with ABS?
  9. Nay too bad chap iirc firefox was my no no, chrome worked fine - I was using linux mint at the time so no I.E. nonsense lol How's the flying coming along?
  10. Well good peeps, I've taken the plunge on your recommendations and bought a printer from Jack Liu. Should be here mid next week. With the CNC I built last year I hope to be building some weird and wonderful prototypes. Tamiyacowboy, the seller on Amazon, if from China may still incur charges on shipping to this country. I've taken the punt on this seller as his reviews seem generally positive and it's a 'one stop shop' for everything. Does google bring any information on why your A/V kicks off with AliExpress? For this kind of money, I accept that some corners will have been cut, but, I'm looking forward to tinkering and building molten blobs
  11. try another browser, I suffered the same a few years back. I contacted them, they looked into my account settings at their end and found no issues. Swap browser and was bish bash bosh!
  12. You'd be better off listing where you're located.
  13. A pal of mine has given up on his heli escapades, so is flogging his whole kit. He's not a internetter either! It's a Century GL450 SE with an Align GP780 3D gyro. Radio gear is a Spektrum DX6i with an Elite Tx holder. There's the batteries spares and accessories including carbon blades as in the pics with a PowerPal Balance charger - discharger. For the practice runs he has a copy of Phoenix Sim 2.5. He's looking for
  14. get yourself to B&Q or Wickes, they both sell steel and aluminium in various sizes - pick the best to suit your situation and drill the holes - easy peasy!
  15. regarding the fuel tube mod - you can have too much articulation. You'll learn to live with scrapes in crawling so the lower belly isn't so much of an issue either. Be patient with the modifications, you'll soon find their benefits outweigh their downfalls. Have a few packs through the rig then if you really don't like it go back. I find having a few testing sections great for assessing any changes, so you know how the rig performed and any changes in its behavior afterwards. But most importantly - have fun!
  16. I only it was ready for the moment you'd got the axle, might have saved a few scrapes! Well Bang tidy though looks menacing
  17. Stick the tongue to the servo horn lol
  18. Having seen you with this, I'd recommend you have a go with something slower first lol, it's not for everyone!
  19. Good luck! Sorry we couldn't be more help. Please keep us updated though, it is great to see different RC's especially the more 'built' variety. You never know who you may inspire!
  20. you will struggle to find thin sheet, 2mm is where they start iirc, maybe 1.5mm
  21. yep, easy peasy lemon squeeeezy! B&Q or Wickes have aluminium plate in that is suited so you can have a go at loads for less then buying one
  22. Any good with a few hand tools? Easily done with a hacksaw, a center punch and a drill. Finish edges with a file or a dremel
  23. pmsl, it's not a noticeable amount I've read about 1% change in dimensions. Just me being nerdy
  24. just to point out Nylon unless treated will absorb moisture and change it's dimensional accuracy. It'll will only be a smidge and on this may be fine. Brass or a Bronze bushing is a better option imo for future reference.
