  1. it does matter when at 3 and a half minutes the car looses all the punch........ monster or roar based is what you want luke
  2. basically you should never charge 2 packs of cells from 1 charger, lowering the delta peak will increase the chances of the cells being unequal. if the cells were not brought at the same time and used exactly the same amount of times (e.g. motor loads / minutes ran etc) then they will never be the same as a single pack which has more cells. its obvious that you are content in not listening to the advice of very experianced racers (10yrs +). So go ahead and charge 2 packs up on 1 charger and see what happens, if it turns out to have a negative effect then dont complain about it.....simple what works for some peoples cells may not work for others, due to different brands of cells and different treatment of them during their lifespan. i am sponsored by BRM and Team Almighty and the people who match the cells for the companies (BRM -Glyn Ward, and Team Almighty - Steve) have decades of experiance and knowledge and would never reccomend doing this with cells that were not equal between ALL the cells. luke
  3. haha, dont make me inform the people on this forum about you and ash at the various meetings over the summer with camping........... its somewhat shocking! luke
  4. £80?? would it not have been easier to get it from the UK and save yourself some time and money? http://www.microtechracing.com//product_in...;cat=RACE+PACKS luke
  5. if you intend to buy a barracuda then you will need to get some spare bevel gears for the drive train from the US, i dont think they are still available in the UK. i used to drive for the distributor of the car, it was very easy to set up, and pretty fast when it was stripping gears good luck if you decide to go with it, also, if you know where to look the kyosho is much cheaper than that price stated above hth luke
  6. yeh that gear ratio seems very high, and is not far off what i would run outdoors with a monster lol. as garry says, around 7.5-7.8 will be much more suitable luke
  7. what gearing were you running it on? i noticed how hot it was getting by the smell of it, as for capacitors it does not need any, as the PCB board on the top of the endbell has 3 on it, you might want to fit a schottky diode onto it if you are running a forward only ESC, this will help with efficiency and also help to protect your brake FET's on you ESC. the main reason i think it will be is down the the gearing, if you can work it out put on your final drive ratio and i'll be able to help from there. luke
  8. Team Amighty Team IB4200WC cells, 3 packs built up in 6 cell side-by-side formation (like all current cars, HB Cyclone, Xray T2 etc). Only 10 charges old, all the cells are team driver spec and therefore have the runtime and voltage readings crossed out, but they all charge above 4600mah, voltages are above 1.24v and runtime above 450secs at 35a. Never been charged above 6a and always equalised to 0.9v p/c, stored with 600mah left in. Built professionally with a female Corally tube at each end, pics available . Bought new back in mid November, all 3 packs for £85 posted pictures available from tommorow luke
  9. www.brockmodels.com they have alot of things in at a good price hth luke
  10. here is my new drive for 2007, Kyosho TF-5 equipment, MRT MX Novak XXL KO 2343 Team Almighty IB4200WC cells
  11. hassel? its a couple of minute job, and yes it does make a deffernce, as the motor should be under no load whilst running in. also the voltage is much different as you could be damaging the motor.
  12. well if its 6 cells you risk damaging the motor before the brushes are fully bedded in. 6 cells for 300sec is way to high. if you have no way of doing it at 2 cells then fit the motor to the car with no pinion on and set the trim so the motor is not turning over very fast but at a constant rate.
  13. well use 2.4v then (2 cells), i use a motor run-in feature on my charger that does it, or i use my motor dyno
