Mikedee225
Hi all, first post. ive recently managed to dig out my old Schumacher SST 2000 from my dads attic. its fully intact, really clean condition and boxed, ive got some radio gear but no battery or motor. 2 questions: 1.what’s it worth ? 2. Can I get it running with modern electrics ?
heavyleftthumb
welcome to the forum pal. depends on spec really. bog standards go for 30 quid where as decent high end ones will be 60-70 quid but its finding someone who wants one. im sure it wil be able to get it up and running.... a strip and clean, maybe new bearings etc. and then check motor and so on . Mikedee225
Thanks for the info, I will deffo keep it for that sort of money. It’s barely used as I used to race my Tamiya F1 back in the day, but like you say may need a bit of TLC after 20 years standing. would like to get it up and running for my kids to use. I take it all modern batteries/motors etc still physically fit the old cars ?
heavyleftthumb
unless its special and hopped up older stuff is rarely worth much tbh.....it could certainyl make a great runner. but as you mentions modern electrics and motors will fit , but wasnt the SST the one with split cells 3 here and 3 there...... so may need to adapt something to fit. saddle pack batteries or smaller ones to fit,. Mikedee225
Has fixings for saddle or stick, so can run a stick pack down one side, electrics down the other
