  1. Yes i think this may have happened when set it from new, now ive got program card which is much more easy to use, so if i set motor timing at 11.75which is level four, would this be a good setting to get temp down a bit
  2. Hi all, as mentioned in earlier post my toro x8 gets a bit hot after around 15 mins, checked with temp gun, getting around 75c, runnin 17t pinion stock set up, ive just checked to see if i can ajust the timing of the motor via the hobbywing program box, its the sc8 120amp esc, it says its set at level 1 on timing which according to set up manual is set at 0.00 timing, is that correct ? On program manual it says default should be at 15.00 timing, just not sure here, ive now set it at level 4 which should be 11.75 on timing in the hope i get motor to give a bit more torque and less top end
  3. Hi all, just started to get into racing with 1/8th scale buggy, outdoor astro, got 2200kv torro x8 motor, and 120 amp hobbywing esc, I know the esc probably was not the best choice here but motor seams good, olny issue is motor gets hot after about 10/15 mins running time, its in xray xb8e running standard gearing from stock set up, should i go down a bit with pinion size to help here, running at ndor off road,
  4. Hi all, any opinions on abisma lipo 7.4v 110c 7200 mah race packs, they do seem like good value, looking at running 2 sets of 2 in my xray ab8e, will be racing, are they up to the job ?
  5. Thought hpi always did well with sales of there cars and trucks, not the cheapest but always decent qaulity, shame i started out with hpi trucks when i got into the hobby, was thinking of the wr8, not so sure now
  6. Hi all, just started diff build on xray xb8e kit, diffs are all built as per manual, its the fitting into diff housing and shimming that dont seem right, i have used a shim each side of bearings to help get get correct mesh between ring gear and pinion, this seems good with no side to side movement once fitted in housing, and mesh feels good, its the lateral movement thats bad once fitted in housing and checked for free play, i grab each outdrive and its like the bearings are not a tight fit in the diff case so loads of movement, seems to loose, but checked the bearings and they are a good fit, its like the whole diff, ring gear moves around which would cause you loose the mesh and damage the gears, what am doing wrong here, cant fit any more shims in.
  7. Hi all, just started build on new xray xb8e, i have assembled and filled all 3 diffs as per manual, but once i get the first diff in the housing it seems to have to much movement, i have used a shim at each side of the bearings to get correct mesh between ring gear and pinion this feels about right when checking for play, then i tighten diff case up with supplied screws, the problem seems that i can move the diff side to side when checked by grabbing both out drives and wiggling up and down , cant get no more shims in either side, it just dont seem correct, what am i doing wrong ?
  8. Hi all, looking at getting a hyper vs nitro roller, has anyone had one, are they any good, they look ok for the money, plan to turn it into a rally car, already got decent engine and starter etc,
  9. Hi all, whats going on with spare parts supply in the uk at the moment, no model shop seem to carry any genuine new replacement parts at moment for the dex210, i know that revell or hobico are doing a crap job of distributing spares, looking for some v2 front arms and a v2 shock tower set
  10. Hi all, what diff grease should you use in rear diff on hpi truphy flux truggy, it does not tell you any where in manual what to use, just blown rear diff and changing gears so need to refill, just want to keep it stock with grease has i had no end of trouble with a previous truck after swapping to oil
  11. ive found using a high quality lipo with good c rating makes a huge difference to performance, im running a firestorm brushless at the moment with orion motor and esc combo on street, have got a selection of cheaper lipo 2 cell packs which are ok, then ive also got some decent lipos with high capacity and good c rating, they make a big difference and give plenty of power for my back yard bashing, decided theres enough power now and still able to control the car, need lots of room with 3s on 10th scale cars, im going to get a new rustler vxl for xmas for my son, and just get good 2 cell lipos to run it
  12. MB Models leeds, they are decent rc shop with plenty of stock, they have recently moved, thing is they seem to concentrate on high end race kits, and do have good stock of most spares for the kits they sell, they give half decent advice on the stuff they sell, not really the best shop for rtr, for that its got to be modelsport, but ive had my fill of rtr cars now so olny concentrate my funds and time on full blown race kits, once you have built a top quality race kit its hard to go back to rtr stuff, anyway, I would recommend them, but you have to remember it is a business they are running and sometimes customer focus goes out the window where business and money is concerned, my olny bad experience is with wheelspin models, they are box movers, I think some of the guys at mb race themselves so know about race kits etc.
  13. Racing, might have the odd bash with it every now and then but nothing stupid like how high can you jump
  14. Hi all, looking at getting a high quality 1/8th scale race buggy kit, my h Fave 3 are Xray XB8E 2015 SPEC KIT MUGEN SEIKI MBX7 ECO BUGGY KYOSHO MP9e kit, Any advice on the pro's and con's of these kits would be appreciated,
  15. Hi all, looking at getting high quality race buggy to kit to build, these are my fave 3 at the moment, XRAY XB8E 2015 SPEC MUGEN SEIKI MBX7 ECO KYOSHO MP9e TKI KIT I do like the look of the xray kit, but any advice here on the pro's and con's of each would be appreciated, just to note here, I have built a few kits now so I would say my skill level is intermediate at builds, what im not so good at is set up and just try and follow the set guides in the manuals.
