liamb2387
To replace the blown macstar 28 in my hyper 7 I bought the above engine. I was wondering, will I be able to mount this engine using the normal hobao engine mounts? Should it just drop in easily?
jordan_bench10
Yes you should
liamb2387
Hope so. Anyone had any experience with this engine? Cheers Jordan Edited September 16, 2014 by liamb2387
Anthoop
Hope so. Anyone had any experience with this engine? It will drop straight in. I have not had any experience with the engine...but it is a NR. If it is new then it will be very tight...if not so new it will still be tight...always good to preheat an engine before starting. NovaRossi engines are always nicely made...replacement parts can make your eyes water...treat it well and it will last.
liamb2387
Its not new. Not get it yet so not entirely sure on the condition. So, how important is it to preheat before starting? This is something Iv never done before, other than when breaking in
Anthoop
I preheat every engine before a cold start these days for a number of reasons... It will help to reduce wear...making the engine last longer. It will aid starting....tight engines can be a pain to turn over when cold...but any engine will benefit because of the basic carb. (mixture set for optimum warm running). Preheating is not essential, for years no one did it....no one used to wear a car seatbelt either or.... Yes it can be a bit of a faff at first but for me it is just another part of the nitro routine and I guess you already have a starter box...so you already carry power...all you need to do is buy/make something to plug in. liamb2387
Might have to invest in a engine preheated then maybe. Engine hasn't arrived yet! [emoji20]

liamb2387
So, the engine arrived and i got it fitted straight to the buggy. There's only one problem so far. The flywheel doesn't touch the starter box wheel. I'm guessing that means I need a bigger flywheel. Am I right or is there another way? jordan_bench10
Theyres 2 ways you could do this im gathering you dont know the size of your flywheel ? If not then you need to or depending on whether the manufacter of the buggy makes them you can buy lower profile engine mounts
