  1. well i cant complain. The car cost me
  2. Get this its cheap and reusable, dont be mislead by cheap airfilters as many cannot be taken apart and cleaned. These are cheap and easy to maintain.
  3. also check the airfilter or carb for air leaks, lack of air is often the main cause to over heating other than lack of fuel.
  4. careful tho as the clutch bell may not grip the spur gear properly if you change the teeth number dramatically. The standard G3 clutch bell doesnt work on a standard MT2 as theres to many teeth. Stick with something along the lines of 11-13 best of both worlds
  5. aswith most hpi cars its consists of 2 seperate fibre brakes and 2 metal pads, unless its upgraded it may have a graphite disks. best place is modelsport of course. go on the HPI europe website clcik on cars, then nitro off road, clcik on the savage, click parts list then copy n paste the codes into modelsport, tis the easiest way to get exactly what you need
  6. if its hesitating id say its to lean already. its best to be slightly rich to be on the safe side. do 1/8th turns or smaller from defult and stop when you no longer see an improvment in performance. once ou get to that point turn it back 1/8th of a turn to richen it abit and it should be fine.
  7. well it wasnt all fun and games... i stripped a set of wheel hex hubs and had no spare...so some super glue later it was all rosey... but it means i now have to buy new wheels and tyres and hex hubs...
  8. ok i know that HPI arnt the best cars in the world but i now think they ARE! lets begin at the start. I recently bought a HPI MT2 on ebay sold as spares or repares as it had a knackered engine, so the purchase of a G3 engine later and i had a fully working car. Ok its not all fun and games as it had a few issues. But 2day i took it out for the 1st time and really ragged the hell out of it a local disused land/motox track. and what a car it is! i put it through hell and back through puddles that covered it entierly, jumps that were probably 10ft or high and it took it all! (ok admitadly iv almsot fully hopped it up but...still) You may wonder why im telling you all this, but its mainly because i think anyone new to RC Buggys n Truggys should get one as they are soo gd and easy to use. only downside is the cleaning Here she is after several hours of dirtyness
  9. well its not the 1st 3 as i tested that lol and im using the standard hpi g3 plug with model technics 16%. i stripped apart the car earlier to source the problem as there was a rattle as well when the engine was going, and i noticed the clutch bell was broken (the teeth had sheered off the bell) and i now believe this to be the problem, as it was slipping causing the to run free, then as it gripped again put slight tuque on the engine, hence causing the "bob" effect and the idle.... well im hoping its a simple fix like a new clutch bell, but it needs replacing either way. I sure hope it is that simple as i just bough all the purple hop ups available for it, a new engine would be the last thing i wanted lol cheers for the help, any more suggestions keep them coming
  10. hey. i recently bought a g3 engine for my mt2, and fitted it as ususal, ran it in as always, and tuned it fine. the car ran fine for a couple of days, but after going out tonight, it has delveloped a very erratic idle that makes the car "bob" forwards n backwards. the car seemed funny to start with as it would get slow n stall at full throttle, so i quickly put it back to defult needle setting. It is then when i noticed the erratic idle. any suggestions? as im stumped never had a car do this cheers Adam
