  1. also the silicone oil in the diff and the gearbox is quite a dark grey and a bit gritty looking heres pics of the few things ive mentioned http://i315.photobucket.com/albums/ll475/davejm1000/20140316_220440.jpg http://i315.photobucket.com/albums/ll475/davejm1000/20140316_222007.jpg http://i315.photobucket.com/albums/ll475/davejm1000/20140316_222407.jpg http://i315.photobucket.com/albums/ll475/davejm1000/20140316_222441.jpg ive flipped the plates either side of the balll diff, they had very very light grooves, felt more polished than work but changed them around anyway.
  2. Just started stripping it down and ive noticed that on the spur shaft on the opposite end to the spur the shaft goes through one small metal gear which meshes with another that turns the internal gears . Both the metsl gears have a lot of gritty metal filings all over them. The teeth look worn to me unless they are different to say the teeth on the big spur gear .
  3. Oh ok. So flip it so the outer side of the plate is against the balls instead. Il try adjusting it first and see how it goes. Cant seem to find any videos on adjusting Schumacher ball diffs . Thanks
  4. Whats that mean for me ? Didnt quite understand vrooms post about flipping the washer if its a ball diff Thanks guys
  5. Im not sure il have a look. Any tips more than welcome though . Thanks mate
  6. A stripped gear in the transmission you mean. The spur and pinion are new and the cups are also in good condition Thanks mate
  7. thanks for the reply ive taken it apart, and the slipper pads (or " those white things" as i called them earlier lol )are about 1mm thick, not sure if thats worn or not, i can order new ones so thats no biggie, unless its the diff, then im not sure ive attached a vid of the motor running freely without spur gear, seems very loud to me, tho its the first brushless motor ive heard in the flesh also when i run it off the ground and hold one wheel the other spins super fast, (tyre balloning) . Without holding the wheel there is no ballooning at all on either wheel, when ive seen vids of people running this setup on a stand it seems to go way faster, and sound very different http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnG7Gm7btJw&feature=youtu.be thanks again
  8. Thanks for the reply. Yeah same thought I had. But ive tightened it till it cant get any tighter and it was no better. Havent checked the pads. Very new to electric. Whats the white hexagonal pieces? Looka like a very thin plastic. Its either side of the spur gear. . Il have to try stripping it down. Will also adjust the gear mesh. One thing ive noticed is when its off and I roll it along the floor I can hear and feel the pinion and spur but its on and off. Like its tight through one half of the turn then looser and quieter through the other half a turn. Bent pinion or spur shaft ? Thanks mate
  9. hey guys just finished building my cougar sv2, for the time being i bought a leopard brushluss combo off ebay as its only
  10. Thanks for the reply. That was my thought , but the new battery is doing the same thing. Plug it in and the led is red then it turns green after about ten mins. Be good to check the voltage I guess
  11. Hey guys this is probably an obvious one. I was charging my existing orion 1500mah receiver pack (about 4years old) and after only 10 mins I get the green light ( just a basic ripmax charger) but when i run the car I get about 20 mins run time before its low. This happened a few times . Got a new pack plugged it in and after about 10mins green light is back on and im guessing that once that happens its not charging any more. Just want confirmation that its my charger before I buy one. oh I had to put a different connector on the battery so could it be a bad connection causing it. Thanks
  12. right ive been looking into this a bit more ( when i have internet that is) ive found this combo wondring if it will be powerful enough . http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131029244830?var=430215603225&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 also trying to get to grips with the kv ratings and how they work with the number of motor turns . cant seem to see a turn rating on the linked combo. with brushed i know you had 7.2v or 8.4v motors and the nimh batteries were the same . is this still the same with brushless and lipo any advice would be great.
  13. Thanks froggy, much appreciated. Got lots of reading to do.
  14. Hey guys. After some advice on converting my hyper 7 pro uk to brushless. Basically wondering what I will need to do the conversion. Id like it to run about the same speed as it does at the moment. Just a stock mac28 . Would like to keep to as tight a budget as possible. Any suggested esc motor combos would be great. Cheers
  15. Hi , whats your best price on the 1st set ? Thanks a lot
