  1. sounds like they had to order it in then. if it was in stock im sure it would of arrived earlier, as China would of been about 7 day deliver i guess. just because its its on a shops website, doesnt mean its in stock. However i do believe that they may be on the verge of getting live stock levels on there site. i know they have upgraded the tills and computers recently, now everything is barcoded they scan all items when selling them now, so live levels will be the next thing to arrive as they have the system to apply it...
  2. another charming member... did you ask them if there was another delivery option?? were all too quick to slate hobby shops about this and that, but you never see many people actually say what a good service they have had. they have far, far many more satisfied customers than unhappy ones. No i dont work for Apex either, what a stupid question ( and typical one ) to ask. ive used them many times and been there many times and not had one bad experience with them either. no doubt they would of sent your items with your fuel, hence the courier service, not royal mail. if the courier cant pick it up until tomorrow, or even late this afternoon, then it isnt there fault is it?? they dont control the courier service. all they can do is organise it....my brain is engaged thanks.... @ animal47, i dont doubt that mate. yes its possible. if you ordered it monday and its arrived today thats 2 days. it was however at the beginning of the week, and like i say, there is a bank holiday coming up so the later its ordered ( like today ) the longer it may take due to the volume of items that they have to deliver. people have to take this into account. if they pick it up late today or tomorrow, then it may still arrive by friday and Mr no brain engaged above may have slated Apex for nothing...
  3. Nope! lol..as Garry said, not with regular use...i would of thought they would of made this Astro to be honest....they could hold meets all year round then with minimal disruptions...
  4. NITRO COOLS!! the more it cools the leaner you can run it so you can get better run times! this is where you have to be careful of your temps.( so yes, it could get hotter, but tuning your engine resolves this as well as getting a bigger 'bang' as its been put ) dont get the RB plugs, they cost more and the McCOY MC9's are just fine in your engine. i had the same engine when i started and used the McCOY plugs and they were great. as for the manual, they always air on the side of caution, running 25% is fine. if there is only 1 shim under the head then you need another to run 25%. dont look at the head though, take it off. shims are very thin and there could well be 2 already on there. personally i would run the engine in with what you intend on using all the time. if you run it in on 16%, then you have to muck about with your tuning settings when you switch to 25%...your engine will be used to the effects of 16% fuel, so switching to 25% will mean more tuning.
  5. why is it some people just dont get this?? you can check the pullstart by removing it and testing it. ( some already HELPFUL members have kindly posted on how to do this )...HOWEVER DONT FORCE ANYTHING!!! if the rod has let go, then even a small pull on the pullstart will cause damage to your piston and liner by any fragments of your conrod floating about in there....always be safe than sorry, take the thing apart or get someone that knows how to do it with confidence to do it for you...oh, and taking the glow plug out wont tell you the state of the P/L....taking the head off ( as well as the pullstart / backplate ) to remove the P/L will...
  6. Question:....have any of you been to the shop?? if you have then you will see the postage room they have. they do send items out the same day, the post office is about 75m away from them! however, dont moan about the fact you might not get your bits until Friday, as your fuel can only be sent by courier, and only certain couriers will carry it as well....so given that fact, they have to arrange the courier who then have to fit them in for pick up and delivery!
  7. ruddy hell man dont give advice if you dont know what your talking about!! doing that WILL ruin his engine if his conrod had let go....( if it wasnt already ) just open it up and inspect....dont force ANYTHING...
  8. Proline do one, its called the crownpleaser...ive got one sat in my cupboard that ive done nothing with for the last year!
  9. endurance racing?.........normal club meets i think you will find, the A final more so..say half hour final...
  10. top drivers report around 30 / 45 seconds improved run times with them...thats about a lap.. for most people then i wouldnt of thought they would see any difference....
  11. your running the wrong fuel content mate. run 25% as the engine is probably shimmed for 25%. McCoy MC-9 plugs are great for these engines.
  12. to me, same day delivery would cost a fortune so not financially viable...i doubt there would be many people willing to pay the obvious high cost of such a service...IMHO....Not unless youve got a bloke in your own van doing it locally...but even then your customer base would be small...
  13. um, no it isnt! WD40 can rot your o'rings for a start etc where gt85 wont. it also leaves a PTFE protective film unlike WD40....
  14. totally agree!! HPI parts can be a real bitch to get, and the hyper 7 is a better buggy if you ask me. if your mate said it was unreliable, i can only imagine the engine wasnt tuned correct and the steering etc wasnt setup properley. this isnt the fault of the car, you will get that on ANY r/c car.. the hyper 7 was probably more popular than the HPI anyway so more people around that know them. and more spares around..just look at Ebay alone for parts..loads!
  15. sounds like too much power going to the front wheels...thicker oils in centre diff and front diff will help...constant ballooning of the tires will mean your inserts may well deform and split....

    DX3 / DX3.0

the DX3 and 3.0 dont have very good battery life as standard to be honest. there is a mod you can do ( cant find the link though......) that i believe involves removing and re-soldering a new resistor in the handset. this vastly improves the battery life.
  17. i got my compressor from Argos, made by challenge. oil one...works a treat. take engine and electrics out, brush off most of the dirt, stick it in the bath and spray some Muck-off on it. have a fag ( whilst turning on the compressor to build up pressure ) then use luke warm water to hose my truggy down, clean bath ( the wife goes nuts otherwise..
  18. if its doing it on OS4, then maybe your running too many apps in the background. a friend had this situation recently on his Iphone 4. it was a proper version of tom tom as well, not a torrent site one. it kept crashing until another mate showed him how to view all apps that were running at once...he had loads running!!! he shut most of them down and it ran fine after that...
  19. How old are you? this will greatly affect your insurance premium. also, if you have no
  20. if running a spider diff then its wise to use a heavier oil than normal. saying that, if your going to rag them about etc, then no tires will last long. do that type of stuff to your 1:1 car and they will go pop or burn out quickly as well...
