One of the most iconic nitro monster trucks in history, the HPI Racing Savage, got a make-over for 2014. The Savage XL was introduced some years ago and marks the top-of-the-foodchain offering at nearly 600mm length and a width of roughly 450mm. The 2014 version received some love on the form of new sintered differential gears for added durability, and four new big bore shock absorbers that are lighter than the previous 8-shock setup. Furthermore the kit includes all that is needed to get the bad boy running (sans fuel, of course) and so you can find a Roto Start 2 starter with battery, receiver and transmitter batteries, a charger, tools, glow igniter and a fuel bottle supplied. In terms of specifications the XL remains unchanged with its K5.9 .36 (5.9cc!) engine, its long wheelbase TVP aluminium chassis, tall all-terrain tyres and the pre-painted body shell. Team Associated as expected will issue a re-release of their 1993 World Winning RC10 World's Car kit. First images of the packaging appeared on the interweb showing the kit will feature many parts seen on the original kit such as the black "lightweight" aluminium tub chassis, black A-arms and shock towers, as well as updated steering bellcranks and neon yellow rims

Back in October Team C showed some pre-production images of their TM4 1/10th 4WD buggy and now the respective kit page went live indicating that the kit will become available for the public. The buggy is based on a hard-anodised 7075-T6 aluminium chassis specially designed for the use with shorty LiPo battery packs. Plastic side rails reduce dirt build-up within the chassis while 12mm big bore shock absorbers (with plastic caps) attached to thick carbon fibre shock towers keep the wheels on the ground. Included in the kit is also a redesigned slipper assembly with vented slipper plates and a new main gear with large octagonal slipper pads and a new slipper nut with grub screw for consistent slipper action. Other parts that found their way into the kit are highly adjustable aluminium suspension mounts with plastic inserts, new A-arms with droop setting screw, redesigned steering parts for increased steering response, oversized bearings in the rear hubs, redesigned gear boxes, 14mm wheel hex adapters and a newly designed cab forward body. Hacker introduce the follow-up motor of their popular Skalar8, called the Skalar8 V2. As the V1 motor the 2014 version can be mounted using M3 or M4 screws but the T6 aluminium case is now 4.85mm shorter compared to the previous motor making installation in tight chassis easier. Improved manufacturing processes also lead to increased horsepower over the complete powerband, the motors have a lower current consumption, a lower internal resistance and increased efficiency. The sensored 4-pole motors come in four different kv ratings from 1750 to 2300, they are completely rebuildable and designed for the use with up to 4S LiPo battery packs. Available now are more option parts for Serpent's SRX2 2WD buggy. First up is a 3-piece aluminium steering rack set that contains aluminium steering bellcranks and the steering rack. The CNC-machined parts are made from high-grade aluminium for less flex and a more precise steering feeling. Another new aluminium option is the 2-piece servo mount set. Again the parts are designed to eliminate unwanted flex for a rock-solid steering response. Team Orion introduce the Advantage Touch Duo AC/DC multi-chemistry charger. The device features a build-in 200 watts power supply for up to 10A charge current per output for simultaneous charging of up to 6S LiPo battery packs. A colour touch screen display show all of the important charging, discharging and balancing parameters and a new split view allows to display the data of both channels.
