Hi thanks it isn't just me then??? It's about an hours drive or so away. Me and my brother are taking the cars back on saturday to see about a refund, and like Langy says if we get knowhere we'll try the trading standards for some advice. Thanks all.

Helo all Has anyone else had bad experiences with Ben Racing .? I bought my nephew a Kyosho Giga Crusher from them for a christmas present, and my brother bought two of the same for my other nephew's. In all we spent nearly a grand. We've had nothing but trouble with the cars, mainly the clutches and clutch bells. The kids have had about 2 hours running out of them when the clutch springs broke on all three and the clutch bell on one of the cars broke. The parts have been on order since January and we still haven't recieved all the parts we need to get them up and running again. Ive lost count how many phone calls/emails ive made and sent. Their customer service seems to be none exsistent. I rang Ben on tuesday (24/6/08) about the outstanding parts and he said they were in stock and that he had phoned me a month ago and left a message saying that he had them in stock. I told him i would pick them up on saturday, he repplied with give me a ring on thursday just to make sure they were still in stock, so i rang him today, and by coincidence thyey had been sold??????? More like they never had them in the 1st place. Do Kyosho parts usually take six months to arrive?
  3. Thanks for the help everyone. I will have another go with it this week to see if i can sort it. Will put a new plug in it and go from there. Thanks DaleB
  4. hello Im new to nitro cars so still learning. Yes iv'e read the tuning guide and im still having problems. The car is a Kyosho Inferno US Sports with a .28 engine. The problems im having are keeping it running. I was having troublesetting off ,when applying the throttle the car would stall as soon as i touched the throttle.sorted that. the other problem is i can drive the car around for about 30 seconds and try to go full thrttle the car just cuts out. i know through reading the other pposts it can either be too lean or too rich, so ive tried leaning the hsn and its still the same. So i tried richening the hsn and it still cuts out at half throottl and wont go any further. I have previously had the car running fine and now all of a sudden its like this. I took it out this morning to try and sort it out but 2hours later and two blisters later i gave in. Hope somone can help Thanks DaleB.
  5. Thanks Ziggy and Happylad Got it sorted, easy to change really only took me about half hour to change it and refit the engine. Thanks again for your help. Dale.
  6. Found the problem, its the clutch spring thats snapped.
  7. Thanks Happy Lad Yes it is a 3 speed auto box, i thought it might be the clutch sticking, as i forgot to mention. When it has stalled in gear and i put it in neutral to start it again the car jumps forward when i pull the pull starter. I had to roll the car forward then it free's it up. Are they usually this unreliable as he hasnt even had an hours running out of it since christmas day. Everything was fine when was breaking the engine in. Thanks again for your help
  8. Thanks for the reply No, when you try to set off from stand still, when the car is in neutral. when you select drive on the controller it just jumps forward and stalls. The only way i could get it move without stalling was to ppush the car first to get it rolling, then select drive. Ive tried the idle setting thinking it might have been too high/low and it still wont set off from standstill. When its driving round after the push its sellecting all three gears no problem, its just the initial setting off. Thanks.
  9. Newbie needs help again!! I bought my nephew a nitro monster truck for christmas, a Kyosho gige crusher. Its been running fine until i took him out with it today. It starts ok and ticks over ok. The problems start when you select drive with the controller, the car just jumps forward an cuts out. Like if you took your foot off the clutch too fast in a car. It's really ppeeing me off now, beginning to wish i got him a battery ppowered car now.
  10. Hello the truck is a giga crusher. Ive since contacted the shop where i bought it from and he says you cant get them, because Kyosho dont use a one way bearing on the crank to start the engine. looks like il have to get used to the blisters.
  11. Hello Im new to nitro rc cars, and wondered if anybody knew if its possible to fit a roto start to a Kyosho .28 nitro engine. It's in a 1/8th monster truck so i can't use a starter box to start the engine as the flywheel is out of reach. I have looked at the Sullivan Tiger Drive one's on the Modelsport UK website and wondered if any1 had fitted one of these to the same engine. Thanks Dale.
