  1. with 1600 nicads you can quite happily charge faster than yuo can run them down... if you have a good charger
  2. i must say on the nikko cr*p cars: i still have one of the 1/14th ones once you take out the old electronics and put in some hobby grade stuff (everything fits perfectly, except i had to make my own MSC because i don't know any ESCs that work on 8 cells) it actually does quite well. its my rally car ATM, i modded it for twice as much ride height. slow, but indestructable. it went flat out into a rock and the only thing that fell off was a spring. but i must add, they are RUBBISH stock, and only good for bashing and running until you can see through the floor pan.
  3. 1. yes, its like the traxxas rustler but faster and more stable 2. the deal should be fine for a begginer, but you may want a couple more batteries. something around 3600 would befine for a beginner. 3. as far as i can tell, they are just different body shells. so red is faster have fun, and ENJOY!
  4. Ni-mh charge efficiency is 66%. so time*current/100*66= capacity. so your batteries have 3630mah in. are they old cells?
  5. probably! if you wear the tyres down i think you can drift with them too.

  7. lol my freind's dad has an original one of those! does your kit have an electronic speed control? if not thats the first upgrade, and after that maybe fiddle with the gearing or put a faster motor in.
  8. the firestorm! the rush was less than great, and the MT2 is 4wd so you can't race it, but the firestorm... <3
  9. i think i'll add one to my ever increasing shopping list hpi have worked long and hard on their CoG, and the nitro firestorm lands back on its wheels 90% of the time, so not bad considering the huge lump of metal in the rear of the car. i think all they need to do is release a competitivley priced brushless RTR, to be able to compete against the traxxas VLXes! (i shouldn't say that, i'm doing my work exp. at traxxas ) i will definatley recommend this truck to my freinds who want to get into RC. btw, which colour car did you get? only on the video hpi say the red is RTR standard, and the blue has brushless optional. maybe its an old vid and they updated the spec though. good reveiw though! joe
  10. hmmm i don't think HPI sell them. what do you need it for?
  11. one problem, the animation is four stroking
  12. the E firestorm comes with a 15t motor. expect around 35mph
  13. i guess if i get one i'll get the blue one just to see whats inside the box
  14. my freind's got one. fast, durable (except when he crashed it into his brother at full speed) but not much of a match for my firestorm handling wise. also looks a bit tricky to work on. if you plan on just bashing go for it!
  15. anyone know of any tracks/bashing meets aroudn the bristol area? i think there may be a track in gloucester, and another in swindon, but i'm unsure how to start there.
  16. yes, a good exhaust will make loads of difference! maybe a JP1 for torque, or a JP2 for top end. depends how much you like wheelies have you had any problems with the front bulkhead setup? mines still held together with meccano and glue gun. seems to be ok, i just CBA to fork out £8 for a new set of bits. i broke the last one i bought in 2 tanks after a HUGE crash (radio glitch). and no its closer to the GT2 than the rush evo.
  17. according to the video on the HPI website the red one is RTR spec and the blue one has an optional brushless motor? strange...
