  1. Does anybody know of a failsafe for the throttle that will operate after a complete loss of power? Just had a scary moment with the raptor when the battery fell out mid flight ? the sticky pad holding it in place failed. I can solve that problem by not using sticky pads but would feel better with an additional failsafe in place. Thanks in advance!
  2. I'll be there! made a few changes to the savage. Test drive tonight. Hopefully tomorrow, my spur killing spree ends. See you in the morning!
  3. Also, if you want to see some REALLY nice welds, search weld ****. There's some really talented guys out there making really artistic welds. Snakes, dragons etc. make my welds look bad Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Here's a few runs I did specifically to get some nice blue welds. Done with TIG. You can see the colour range all the way from straw to dark blue Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. The colours you see are a film of oxides. The hotter it gets and the longer it stays hot for, the thicker the layer of oxides gets. You start off with a straw colour and end up with really dark blue/purple. I see it quite a lot when welding stainless steel. So pretty Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. If your referring to a nitro engine, no he's not correct. If you spit on it and it doesn't sizzle, it's running quite cool. Under 100c is quite cool for a nitro. They will run between 100c and 150c. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Thats very nice! I'd like to have a go at this if I had the time. Got everything at my disposal at work but a young family says I can't Could do scale welds with the tig welder [emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Cool, thanks! I've just ordered one that says they will replace it if it breaks, gotta be good.... I hope. Not looking forward to the spring explosion when I dismantle it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. That's the sprit! How much abuse has the "unbreakable" string been through? Is it the American one? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Thanks for the replies! I'm not really having problems with them, I just like to have spares when I'm out. Nowt worse than getting out and breaking something simple to swap. I currently have one of the cheap ones on and it's doing good. It's the same as the China ones I ordered except it was from a UK seller at twice the price. Might get some of the tough chord on it and leave it at that. My main worry is the chord getting tired and snapping. I also never had a problem with the roto start, other than it doing my head in carrying about. Somehow, the engine knows when I put it back in my bag and decides to cut out That's some good info about the engines. Do hpi actually design any of their own stuff? Who are the main designers? The savage has the F4.6 v1 engine on at the moment and it's a very good engine, never misses a beat when warmed up. When this engine packs in I'm planning on getting a LRP .28 for abit of a change Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I have recently ditched the annoying roto start on the savage. I ordered some cheap pull starts from China with the hope I could keep a few in the bashing bag, only
  12. I don't currently do it but if you don't get an offer, let me know and I'll sign up to it for you. Not too fussed about the points just renewed my gold Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. What brand is the HF0612? If it's ina, I'll have a price please Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Got a spare minute at work so decided to make a start on some new ones out of brass (only hexagon stock I could find, and it was .67mm too big so had to mill it down). Not quite finished yet, needs the slot on the back side and the bore needs opening up on the back as it is a stepped bore on the original plastic part... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Bump Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Stripped a plastic hex on the Rush Evo today so I'm after a new one. Don't want to buy the full suspension arm kit in order to get one hex so thought I'd ask on here. Let me know what you've got! Cheers! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I'd say stick with the 20% on that, it's only a baby Quick heads up, you can pick up a brand new t-15 on eBay for
  18. Here mine, not been out for a year or two, used to go to a local range quite regular. Then my son was born! Rifle is a BSA Hornet springer Pistol is a CO2 one, can't remember the manufacturer off the top of my head. Had it for over 10 years Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Very nice! Enjoyed that! Off to find your other videos! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Good! How much did the postage cost you? Did you ask for next day delivery? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. If that's the case, people don't like the fact they bought something cheap/broke and got bitter, that is very sad. I got a cheap servo off eBay for around
  22. I just buy pull starts from China for
  23. Mostly positive from you guys then. Will give them a go, need some lipos and other things but I'll just order small for now. I do usually take online reviews with a pinch of salt but, take trust pilot as an example, it has over 100 reviews for hobby king, with most of them being negative. That means they are a bad company, or there is quite a bandwagon in action. Also, are you saying the brands like turnigy for sale on hobby king are also made by them? I was under the impression they were respected RC brands Thanks for your input! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Cool thanks for the replies, might give them a shot with some cheap things. If you search reviews on them, it couldn't get any worse Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
