Just introducing myself.
My names Matt and I was hooked on rc cars after my dad bought me a Tamiya boomerang for my 10th birthday.
Fast forward to my early 20s and I had the world's most awesome nitro T-Maxx. I'd spent upwards of a hard earned 3k on it when it was stolen (BASTARDS) but a mortgage then family took priority...
Fast forward another 20 years and here I am.
I wouldn't say life's been cruel to me, I've got 2 mostly beautiful children, I live in a nice place and have little luxury's but I am disabled af.
I was a well buff tree surgeon but I got multiple sclerosis about 10 years ago, which started as a tingling in my arms but has left me like a head in a jar with t-rex arms and hands that don't work!
I'd been trying to think of a hobby I could do when my sister bought me an mt-10 as a moving in present a couple months ago (I haven't moved) which reminded me how much I love bashing a monster truck about.
I've got hands but they don't work so the pistol radio was out. Initially I wanted a stick radio I could do forward, backwards, left and right on one stick because one arm is weaker than the other and I thought it would be a good idea to be able to control my wheelchair at the same time with my free hand, so I got the Futaba 6L sport and had the right stick with a golf ball stuck on top do all controls. Which is OK and you can still have a lot of fun but you can't go full lock and full throttle at the same time. So I (dad!) changed it back so the left stick with a chainsaw file handle stuck on top does the steering and the right stick with a TV wall mount spacer on top does the throttle.
Happy days ... now saving for an X-maxx because the self righting feature is obviously a big plus for me and the being awesome feature is too!
