I’ve managed to get out at least once a week without the kids for the last month. I’m still in the sore arse stage unfortunately though it is getting easier quicker than I expected. Probably just means I was far less fit than I thought I was (which wasn’t very much).I’ve had a dicky knee but it appears that actually riding seems to help it. Feels a lot better as does the rest of me!

Sorry for late reply, not much unless its for the food festival. 😄 I don't go far out of York area to be honest, or if I do I head west.
Ah so you like overpriced sticky toffee pudding then?!🤣

Typical bike owner showing no mechanical sympathy for their bike.
I (and no doubt @LunsfordRich ) have seen much worse!
Actually wasn’t that bad, I had to take the bash guard off to get to the main pivot bolt. I take pics before removing anything so I can get back as it was.

Gravel Bike = Hardtail MTB with curly bars
Had a few people coming in asking about flat bar gravel bikes. So basically you want a mid nineties mountain bike with modern brakes then?!

I had seen them when fatbikes were more of 'a thing', but like you had no reason to buy one.
If I was to have only 'one bike to do it all', I think it would be along the lines of a 150mm full sus fatbike with a motor.
But I do like the option to choose.
That’s the thing though there really isn’t one bike to cover all. My next will be a short travel full sus. I might get a stage evo as I tested one a while back and is was great. A Trek Top Fuel is also a possibility. Not sure about all this downcountry lark they’re just a trail bike surely!

Nice couple of bikes there @LunsfordRich
I have in my collection...
2015 Trek Farley 6 Fatbike
2016 Cube Stereo 140 C62 SL
Octane One Prone (built up from spares I had lying around)
2020 Cube Stereo Hybrid 160 Action Team E-Bike
And from 'back in the day' some wall art.....
2000 Mountain Cycle Tremor FR-1
2002 Mountain Cycle Shockwave 9Point5
Have you seen the full Sus Farley? I’ve absolutely no reason to buy one but I quite fancy it!

Was just going suggest Arrma, 3s range is well within budget. A lot of bang for your buck and you’ll have money left over for lipos and spares.

I would say to all of you that have local trails or woods, you don't really have an excuse to not go for a quick ride..!! I live nowhere near any trails etc and it's a minimum of a 1hr drive to anywhere good for me to ride... 😩
That’s been the thing for me last couple of months. I had a couple of medical issues that kept me off the bike and it’s taking a bit to get back out! At least I still like looking at em!

Bearings all OK, does the drivetrain seem feel free and loose when not motor driven ??
Yeah everything’s good, just being paranoid I think!

Shock oil and various replacement parts after I used up my spare spur gear.

Went for a blast with the old man, stripped a spur gear. Managed to fix it sat at picnic bench and was able to do my best Kevin Talbot impression and shout “back in action!”

I gave it a clean before going out in a gentle 15km ride with the lad this afternoon (he’s only six so we don’t go too fast yet) and it seems to be better. Didn’t get to really push it at any point so don’t know if it’s completely sorted but I’ll keep my fingers crossed when I head out next time and will try and get a spare on order when they come back into stock.
@LunsfordRich Does that sticker mean you work at TF Tuned?
No mate but I do use them quite a bit!

Does your truck do same with other batteries or is it just the zeee,s?
Zees seem fine in the truck, which is what made me think lvc settings on Vortek, however no issues with the spektrum lipos. I’ve got some Gens Ace lipos now as well so we’ll see how they all compare.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you purchase those from ?? and how much were they ??
The lipos? Modelsport £49 each I think without looking.

I also managed to get out tonight and had a good time apart from being forced to take it easy on all the fun bits because of a skipping free hub. Annoyingly all the service parts I probably need to fix it seem to be out of stock everywhere. 😭
What bits do you need?

Only thing i can suggest is to check the voltage of the charged zee,s and the other batteries charged and see if zee are higher
Does seem a strange 1 tho mate
Yeah it is strange. I’ll have a charging session in a bit and compare all the lipos and see. The only other thing I thought is the capacity is lower than stated. I suspect I’ll get a lower run time due to the Vortek maybe being more draggy compared to the big rock. Add to that a lower capacity and I’ll get less bang for my buck so to speak. I’m going to tweak the shocks etc as the drivetrain is running sweet as far as I can see. If the shocks aren’t behaving and the chassis slapping the ground that’s not going to help.
Post up a random video and keep it clean please
