    Snap.

I already contacted the publisher via email and facebook, and also the website I subscribed through, to ask about getting refunded for my remaining issues.

Not had a response from any of them yet.

    I think I'll fire-off an email too.  I'll post an update if I get a reply ;-)

  2. I received my copy today (I've just opened it) and this is the letter which I found enclosed within the  magazine.

It's very sad news but understandable in the current climate.

That said, I'm still owed a few months!

Cheers Ant, MS only received a resupply of FTX6225 parts on the 17th Jan but my order was submitted to a different supplier yonks before that when MS had no stock.

CML has had no stock for about 10-12 days at least so that's a pain too.

This makes buggy ownership a proper pain in the arse, lol.

  4. Not a good day at all!!

After waiting a long time for all of my FTX parts to arrive the postie finally turned up with my expected box of bits.

It then transpires that all of my Outlaw bits are present but the one that I'm most waiting for (FTX6225 Vantage diff housing) is missing from the box with a note to say that it will 'follow on when back in stock'.

I almost chucked the Vantage in the bin.

Many of us use fibreglass mesh tape (plasterboard tape) and shoe goo to reinforce bodyshells btw as nobody else has mentioned it yet. I’ve not had any yet myself but I believe e6000 adhesive is a viable alternative to the shoe goo 👍🏻

That's a great idea Ross, thanks mate. I can also see how good the results could be with the materials you've suggested.

    Thanks again,

    Andrew

  6. Wow!!

What a huge difference between the MT10 and my FTX Outlaw. They look a bit similiar if you squint from a distance but when out bashing there's absolutely no resemblance whatsoever - the MT10 must be multiple leagues above the FTX Outlaw in every way possible.

    Price comparison:

    1.  MT10 came with a 3S-4000 and cost me £285.

    2.  Outlaw came with a 2S-3250 and cost me £240.

In hindsight I should have gone straight to an MT10 and saved a shed-load of money but being a newbie comes with a few mistakes and learning curves.

I put a 2S through it followed by a 3S and, with the exception of a bit of dirt, there was no damage whatsoever so that makes the hobby so much more enjoyable.  The FTX just wouldn't have made it.

    Very pleased indeed guys.

    Andrew

P.S. The taping of the shell has made it indestructible.

Well it's been a while and II suppose everyone is catching up with mundanity after festivities.

After all the nonsense with Omi-cold, we have changed the use of a bedroom into an office / model display area. My wife is happy with these developments, as she no longer has to endure my teams calls.

New storage is perfect for displaying RC cars indoors - upto 1:6th scale.

So, just need to sort out new curtains and lampshade and we're sorted.

Wow!  Those things are huge when you compare them to the Tamiya buggy.

    Well impressed; nice work indeed.

  8. Crikey,  I know this has nothing to do with MS but "how much for a shell?". It must cost all of 2-quid to make and that includes the decal set.

It has to be the worst quality shell that I've ever owned with a kit and yet the most expensive to buy.

    Shocking!!

Need to start from scratch, what are the basic tools required these days for a Corally Python as in hex driver sizes and wheel nut removers.
ideally Is there any boxes of kits containing the essentials?

    Thanks for the advice everyone

Good question, I've been meaning to ask the same.

@Spunkymunky88 - I've not bothered with the mesh cover and not had any issues.

@Buggy Malone - I used Gorilla duct tape to reinforce the body holes and other key points.  also used helicopter tape (MTB frame protection) on the outside of the shell on the key places it will slide on when mid-crash.

Thanks mate, I appreciate the advice :good:

I'm finding the same, need a few bits for my boys carnage but out of stock everywhere.  They must be having some spares issues 😣

I have a similar pic to you btw 🤣

To be fair to the carnage it was a pretty fast head on with a 1/8 buggy (which didn't have a scratch on it after the crash!)

    Ah, not just me then.

You've appear to have done the exact same thing as me sir.  My buggy is lying in a heap of bits until the part comes back on-line again.

I'm now on the MS notification list so fingers crossed.

A Happy NY to you too Ant :good:

It'll cost only £2.19 for the new diff housing so at least it's an easy fix, albeit the buggy is in pieces now, lol.

On a positive note the motor was barely warm so that was a result.

More FTX buggies broken though - that's two now :-(

    Still no diff housing.

CML, ModelSport and both of my other shops can't get one because it's out of stock.

It's a bad show if CML doesn't have one in its capacity as the main FTX parts supplier.

.......and I'm not buying one from eBay as the prices are silly.

Amazing that you own such a legendary vehicle. If my numbers came up on the lottery, Id track down the Mines R34 amd hand them a blank cheque

The R34 is an amazing bit of kit but, like the MKIV Supra, the prices have gone through the roof in recent years. I would hate to think how much a highly modified R34 from a top tuning house goes for these days.

Speaking of top-end modified cars, here's a framed magazine cover of my Supra

It looks a bit 'radio controlled' to me lol:

    All the best,

My wife just said don't be a dick and spend to much on the rc stuff. Fair enough. I'm trying to keep spending on them down. But it's far to hard. Ha

Take her out for a coffee and a cake and treat her.........and then buy some RC gear when you return home.:good:

If you look closely, you can see the position of the front body mount is about 15mm back from where you'd expect it to be. other than that nothing drastic to change. All you need is a rear wing mount set, a pair of vantage body mounts and a vantage shell
