There is a principle to be had here, I don't think anyone makes a 6s that's really worth 100 quid, I know that some will say that there's is, But no 22v battery going in a model car can be worth £100, Would I get more fun out of a 4s costing 50 or 60 quid than the Turnigy's I have costing 25 quid, I doubt it, Or I can't see how.
What I'm saying is if your happy to pay £100, Then so be it, But if your happy to pay £100, Then tell them to stick there lipo's were the sun don't shine, Have a look around and take your choice, Just don't give in to extortion.

I just stuck a 5000 6s in my basket and got two postage options, Both were the same Parcel Farce, But one was £35 and the other was 21, Funny thing is that the £21 option had a heavier allowance, Shows how things have changed, Cost about 7 quid the last time I bought 4 X 4s.
Not sure how Parcel Farce get away with that, Don't take that, The delivery contract is between Parcel Farce and HobbyKing, Not you and Parcel Farce, This is a simple case of having you over, I would refuse delivery, You let them get away with stuff like that once.

It's not what the pound is today, it's what the pound could be at a later date. No one has confidence in it so no company wants to be straddled with hundreds of thousands, possibly millions of a currency that could take a dive at any minute. They jack the price up to cover themselves if tomorrow they wake up and BoJo and his disaster capitalist buddies decide it's a no deal. The pound will slump.
Roll on the no deal.
Just imagine how much of that 750 Billion EU rescue fund would have been down to us, Sorry, But Italy and Spain are in line for the bulk share of £390 Billion worth of Non-Repayable grants, And don't think the likes of France won't try to pilfer off there fair share, No one loves a subsidy more than the French.
Are people seriously saying they want to be part of that, The EU are all giving themselves high fives cos they come to this great agreement, Just wait till the EU taxation system that we kept blocking is passed and Brussels start Taxing countries on top of there own taxes to pay it all back, Cos it has to be payed back by someone, And we should count ourselves lucky it's not gonna be us.

The problem isn't just Arrma, it's the value of the pound. Versus the Euro, Dollar and Yuan it's done nothing but go down since 2016.
True, But it's been pretty stable for the last 2 years, And today it's 1.30 against the Dollar, Best it's been since January, Wish it was that good when I got mine at the start of the year.
Can't blame them for it, I just think it's opportunism, Lot's of people were home and bored and buying stuff they didn't need just to stop the boredom, They'll charge what they think they can get away with, And Traxxas have been getting away with it for years, Now Arrma is starting to take some of there glory, Why do we think they will be any different, Especially now there part of HH.
COVID is the excuse that will just keep giving.

Needed a RX pack for the Nitro and HobbyKing was the cheapest even with postage, So rather than wast the 500g postage weight, I added another pack, and made the rest up with a selection of grub screws, They were only 1p for 10, So got 180 for 18p.

The Tamiya Monster Beetle is the same as the Blackfoot just with a Beetle body, The Granite is Arrma's Monster truck thing, The TriTon is Corally's version, The chassis is very much in the same vain as the Stampede and the ECX range of trucks.
TriTon
ECX
Stampede

But you asked pretty much the same question in your Basher Model thread were your limit was £250.
So your saying that you have as much as £450 to play with now, You have to take into consideration that Monster trucks are generally just basic chassis with big wheels, But it still really comes down to the Stampede, Granite,Blackfoot /Monster Beetle or TriTon, The Kyosho is out cos it's over priced, And a bit too complicated with parts I doubt are gonna be easy to get or transfer from other models, But that's about it, That pretty much is your list of options, Pick the one you like the look off and have that, There all pretty much of a muchness.
-
Sorry for being blunt, But have we not been here before, Can you not just get the Traxxas Bigfoot and be done, That's without doubt the one you want and the itch you have to scratch, So just scratch it.

Set of cheap drivers from Amazon, I'll take one for the boys, £10.50, Worth a gamble, And really saving on the Scene Tax.

I started this last night and added the final bits this morning...
Every bag had this label in to say who packed it, nice touch.
The steel ball joints were missing from the front so I've contacted X-ray to hopefully I get replacements within a week or so.
Lots of carbon fibre and nice alloy parts, I went for the US version as it has a alloy chassis and is slightly stiffer so should be better for speed runs.
The kit includes a 92t spur however I'll be using a 72t spur with a 55t pinion. I usually hate building ball diffs however this wasn't too bad.
All finished, I'll be running a 120a ESC with a 3.5t motor so that will let me run with 2 and 3s and then I'll just use a micro servo.
At some point I'll order the shell which is going to be a phat LMP body shell and that will be painted orange with some blue splats.
For £125 it's very good value for money however if I'd paid the £300 RRP I'd have felt slightly short changed however as per all X-ray products the quality is exceptional.
Like the who the bag is packed by, At least you can grass the ones that left out your two parts.😀

I'm with TUG on this one, There not Semtex(Mi6 is gonna pick that up), Just don't stick a nail through it with a hammer and your be alright, There robust little things, Look at the sort of things we do to them, The amount they get chucked about in cars, Dropped, I've still never seen one go up in the flesh, I even put said nail through an old one and got nothing, Was well disappointing.

More tools and some diff oil, super fast delivery from align-trex, just a pain they didn't have all the oils in stock. Found it impossible to get three different rated oils from the same place so awaiting another two bottles from wheelspin. Is this usually the case or is it down to increased demand in the current climate?
Still no batteries tho!
Wera, Proper tools.

You never used to be able to get Redcat at all over here, Still can't really, Even ModelSport seem a bit hit and miss on what and when they carry there stuff, Shame really, They have a pretty nice selection.

Day of between shifts so thought I would check out and see if the engine starts on the CRT eBay pickup, I new it had been moved on because of the OWB in the engine, It just all adds up, So dropped the back off and gave it a WD40 clear out and a light sandpaper of the RotoStart shaft, All back together, And first blip on the starter wand it fired up, but not ticking over and way to much oil, Found base settings and away it went, Sweet as nut, Needs a tune but it's almost there.
Could feel the diffs had next to nothing in them in the way of oil or grease, It was at this point my reason for it be moved on were all but confirmed, As we all know, RotoStart motors have higher engine mounts, So to use a starter box you have to change the RotoStart back plate to sealed back plate and install standard engine mounts, Or, You can hack away at the chassis and make the starter wheel cut out bigger and hope your starter wheel will still reach.
Not the end of the world cos it was such a bargain, But you gotta laugh.

If it has the same menu system as the iMax(Which I suspect it dose), You need to go into the program setting on the charger and there will be a low voltage cut off alarm that you need to change, As an example it may be set to say 15v, When you plug in onto the battery it may only see 12v, Hence, Low voltage error, Just knock it down a volt or two until you don't get the error.
Your looking for 'Input Power Low Cut Off' if it's the same as the iMax.

Just spent the day in the shed, As like J.K, Watching F1 and stripped down the Thunder Tiger S3 and dropped in a new Go21 I had, Still need a new body., And maybe a new set of shocks just for bling value,Sorry, But if a chassis can be sexy, It's this one, Pretty sure that production cost must be the reason no one has ever done anything like it since, But if Arrma did, Bending chassis's would be a thing of the past.

Try connecting it to a car battery, If you take the side off and slide out the power supply your see that it is as about a cheap a power supply as they could get hold of.

So, Won what I thought looked like a right bargain at the weekend over on the Bay, Honestly thought I may have been turned over as I got no tracking details and had to contact him, Well all was fine and it turned up today.
So was it a bargain, You bet, The second Hong Nor CRT bargain I've had, Why people don't like to bid or buy these things I have no idea.
First sign was good when I noticed it still had the film on the shell, Shame about the exhaust melt.
spotless under the hood as well, SH engine, Sure the RTR come with Force engines, Even had an RX battery Pack.
And the biggest indication of use that we all know and love, The chassis
Come with some new spare arms and a couple new drive shafts, And a Tamiya stater gun, Drive shafts will set you back over 20 quid on there own.
I did figure out why it had such little use, And when I tell you, Your go, 'That makes sense', And the reason, Drum roll.........................................OWB.
150 quid, That's a bargain bagged.

Now this is the picture is it not, Well it doesn't look like a promotional picture of any sort, Also a non standard colour, So did Vas take this picture yes or no, He should know, And if he did he doesn't have a leg to stand on, But if he didn't, Were did he get it from.
I get he's peeved if the picture was sent to him from someone else and he is the one getting it in the neck with no proof it was leaked by him, But as soon as he move that picture on he stuffed himself, He can't go up on the rooftop and shout with all he's worth that it wasn't me, Because he don't know.
And if your mate tells you he's asking he's girlfriend if she'll marry him but keep it secret incase she finds out, Then you tell someone else and they drop it by mistake, Don't be surprised if your mate don't talk to you again, And defiantly don't expect him to explain why.

Must admit, At one point I thought 'Boo Hoo'.

To be fair, In this day and age, None of the premium brands should have problems with diffs, The scale is not new, If your gonna sell something that's 6s ready and RTR out the box, Then not being shimmed to withstand 6s is unacceptable, If your designing, Manufacturing and selling 6s capable 1/8 trucks, You should know what parts are under the most stress and prone to failure.
