    Airleak

im thinking thats what i might do. to tell you the truth i have had nothing but problems with my revo..... not the truck itself just the engine. Im from birmingham and went down devon for the weekend, and took revo for a good bash. after 1/2 a tank the header on my exhaust broke, and revo went back in the boot of the car. it seems that it is not reliable at all, i hype everyone up for it and it only lasts 3 tanks at the most (glow plugs blowing) and im still on factory setting. The truck itself is wicked but i doubt the engine, im going to buy a new header the weekend and see how it goes... if no good send it back to get repaired and buy a OS engine.

yeha sorry lads some more details. Its a Revo 3.3, i have had to send the engine back twice to traxxas due to problems, but since being fixed it has had about 8 tanks through it. Im no nitro expert, but the engine has not held a good tune at all, and im using 20% modeltechnics fuel. how easy is it to replace the front bearing?? has anyone got a walkthrough guide?? im not sure how to get the clutch bell off and flywheel cheers for the help lads

    Airleak

I read on the Traxxas forum that an easy way to find airleaks is, start the engine, and spray with WD-40 around neck of carb, backplate and front bearing. When the engine stalls you have found your leak. Does anyone know if this is true.. or worth trying. I have tried the other method of taking airfilter off and blowing down fuel line, but found it difficult to keep the thottle open, cover airfilter hole, blow down fuel line whilst brushing soapy water over the engine and looking for when it bubbles. Has anyone got any input on this. Cheers lads
  6. got myself another stock one for the mo. im running model technics 20% fuel at the moment, do you really notice thats much of a difference running o'donnels. i have had problems with overheating and idle-ing
  7. cheers for the reply mate, i had seen that on ebay but i was worried about shipping times.
  8. The glow plug thread on my cooling head on my revo 3.3 is mashed, and i need a new one. does anyone recommend one or should i just go with the stock one. cheers for the advice lads
  9. Next problem with Revo. Was out yesterday with Revo and it took ages to start. got it started in the end and it ran fine. done one tank of fuel and re-filled, after re-filling Revo would not start. The problem is with the EZ starter and not the engine, both lights come on but EZ motor does not even turn. has anybody else had this problem?? ive took the EZ motor off and taking it to my LHS tonight to see if they can test it. im pretty sure the OWB has nothing to do with it as the motor is not turning at all. i have dropped the wand a few times but nothing major and it does light the glow plug. The truck is only 1 month old and i have had so many problems with it. thanks for any advice lads
  10. how long did you charge the reciever battery for?? when charging mine for the first time i think i left it for a few hours and that was fine.
  11. same thing happened to my Revo reciever ariel when i flipped it and ripped the ariel out. i got some thicker ariel wire from maplins and soldered it back on to the reciever circut board. Trust me it was easy, i havent soldered since school which was a while back. I would say its best to solder a new wire on completly then trying to attach two wires together.
  12. i was running it on a dry gravel car park. im sure it was overheating cause it would stall and after a few mins it would be ok again, plus i have been blowing glow plugs. its been ok since i have been having ciggie breaks in between tanks
  13. yeah im using standard gearing, and i dont have a temp gauge but it is defo overheating....... steam coming from the engine. i am gonna get a temp gauge tho
  14. Cheers for the help. 1. the glow plug im using is the standard traxxas one, the bloke at my LHS said its the only one. 2.the cars only 1 month old so hopefully not. 3.checked and they are ok. 4.i have just recieved the engine back from traxxas so everything else in the engine should be ok. and ive checked the clutch shoes and they fine. i'll give it a go tomorrow and see how it goes
  15. that was going to be my next question, should i cut a hole in my shell.... would that help?? i dont have a temp gauge, so im not to sure what temps im hitting but i will let it cool after each tank from now on.
