Traxxas Xmaxx 8s, 5th scale conversion. hobbywing max5 56113 combo 25/35 (still not run!) dual 18v cooling externally powered QS8-s connectors 70weight/ 900cst shock oil 50 weight and 20 million weight oil front a rear diff about 70/30 mix. 20 million weight centre diff stock transmitter and receiver TMT bodies unbreakable bodyshell louis pioneer wheels and tyres balloon free! ... well they was ha! and thats me content with my truck .....for now! cant wait to open it up! thanks again guys myk

this is all i was trying to work out! i was aware torque to can size is a main factor in the calculation. i've been using the chart below for my workings. i now have the 25/35 mod 1.5 gears coming. so now with can size, KV and as the chart goes 25/40 M1.5. is my result for ideal? i was stupid to think i could get a mod1 gear with an 8mm shaft and run the original cush assembly locked out as usual. i fear like the stock motor once ive geared to the appropriate ratio its going to be an underwhelming power to weight performance, but this is my speculation as i've never run the set up. its dramatically heavier now. pushing 10kg with no wheels and batteries.

@mydoddy69 ive never had a 1650 can i could not decide between the 1650 or the 800. but someone said and i found out that its rated to 6s and that put me off it. been more then tired of stock motors failing so ive gone in! and got everything for the max5 56 combo conversion 😅 i like mod1.5 gears but if i can avoid buying them right away and still run the truck then i will. i dont like the sound of 25\35 its crazy i want mod1.5 gears but closest ratio i can get to 20/46 mod1. i want to crawl too im always in the sticks with my son hill climbs and crawling is just as fun as bashing for me. been rebuilding the truck through the last week as parts turn up this time next week she should be ready! oh oh also have you ever seen the QS8 connector? they are stupid big man yet the best rated for the amps 🤷‍♂️

max5 combo 56113 can bro i think 22/50 mod1 gears is a good starting point just the pinion is 8mm bore, ive ran 22\46 stock motor max6 and it over heated alot but it was a fun gear and i had mad max wheels so much smaller and less weight. i think for the amps and power she'll handle it.

so you was running mod1 or mod 1.5 gears ? what rations did you find the best? i am going to start with 22/50 mod1 and go from there if i can avoid mod 1.5 gears i will. my truck used to over heat often due to my driving, on stock gears. so id rather have it and not need it..... ive made a external 18v battery that sit in battery compartment to run the fans from when needed and the pack acts as a foam spacer for the truck lipo too.

@Guns Decided going with a guy that sells them on ebay its seems to be one of the neatest ways for the ESC to sit. im hesitant with 3D printed plastics yet theres so many grades now! so while you was running the 56 and max5 what sort of issues did you come across? i am expecting dramatic increase wearing the drive cups and shafts? as well as that i am undecided on single or dual cooling for the motor i have some 12v 40x20 cooling fans not sure on how to power those yet though. id rather buy a single mount as i can seem to find a dual fan single mount shroud. was the esc okay with the stock fan?

well he claimed when i messaged him that it fit all and says in the link description it fits them all so yeah! like you said unless hes switch up the design now but ive got one coming, il soon find out.

@Guns i am not sure man i think its one of those things il have to get it myself before i turn against it! ive been content with the max6 and stock motor running 19/46 but overheating is an issue always. id rather have to much power then not enough so im going to try the set up and see how i get on with it im more a basher then anything else, woods walks and stuff so i dont think il ever run it into the ground. that 56 set up does look lush though bro im hoping mine results in a similar look . did you buy a bracket to mount your max5 in like that? or have you left the reciever box cover off? can see from the pic!

@Guns thanks man ima taking your advice and going max5 +56113 800kv mod 1.5 gears im finished dealing with traxxas motors and i am curious at the best of times! so this big ass can i'm looking forward too lol. i ordered the motor mount i previously put the link up too and il be buy the gears also come the end of the month. 25/35 gearing seems a lot to me but given the can size it sort of makes sense, id rather buy a few different pinions to work out then a new motor for every time getting it wrong and burning out **** ! deffo interested in all your xmaxx rigs guys can you uploads some pics so i can see? i have not uploaded much lately as shes been out of action for a few months and life has had its way! but i mainly use instagram for my truck journey check it out, leave a comment il always appreciate your insights to my doings! also selling badlands mx43 wheel set?? or do you think i should keep them as power to weight will soon no longer be an issue? insta = Myk_isme thanks muchly

All this stuff give me brain ache! @Guns this was my thoughts exactly! i was told by a specialist the motor draws the power from the ESC so if you have a 6s motor and a 8s ESC the motor only draws the power it can although theres more to be had so it should not be a issue. everybody i questioned regarding this claimed the max6 was fine on the 1275 traxxas motor yet ive burnt up 2 of them now and just because of a traxxas label they are stupid money for what they are! the v1 motor i shopped around and its more money i'm willing to pay. @mydoddy69 i found the after market mount i need for all the hobbywing motors and now you said about the 1650kv im ....max5in it. all i need to know now if the gds gears mesh from 5mm to 8mm as il leave the 46t cush drive in if i can and just run 19t 8mm to fit the motor? thanks for all the replies guys

Thankyou very much bro, ive decided on the 4985, 1650KV as it comes in the max6 combo i may as well! checked out a few vids, setup seems more than enough for my fix. Mod1 GDS 19/46, is the fave! louise wheels are a tad heavier than stock. i found today, the castle XLX2 cooling fan for less than £30/$43 if i mount one to the motor, one to the esc i am assuming that is a complete efficient setup? what do you think? as the cooling im assuming is all that id need to counteract the extra wheel weight? and lets face it! any cooling fans 30x30x10 are moist!! the blades no matter the brand break way to easy. so the esc is a must for an upgrade anyway. Also can i ask you, do you understand why they make the max6 combo with a 8s rated ESC and 6S rated Motor ? like you said the motor draws from the ESC but what sort of lifespan is expected running 8S lipo power with 6s Motor? all this backward workings of Kv, Amps and volts is bull****. no way will i buy and run 6s lipos after running nothing less than 8s🤨 ✌️
