  1. Hi Did you get these fitted? If so how are they?
  2. This is the same on all the quantum models (not sure about the +). Think it might effect rebound a little🤷‍♂️ My rear end never returned to a satisfactory resting position, and always seemed to sag after passing it down. I have since replaced the rear end springs with the 1.4mm firm springs which has solved that. I have also toyed with the idea of adjusting the lower control arm position by relocating the plastic spacers (150145). In effect shifting the lower control arm forwards but I'm not sure how this will effect the geometry and drive of the vehicle. I did shift them on one wheel, and in turn had to adjust the turnbuckle as the wheel was no longer straight, but there was a 1-2mm gap between the spring and arm. The only thing is, I than had a squeak when the shock was compressed, I got the impression there was to much pressure on one of the plastic parts so moved it all back. Ultimately, I don't think the contact causes any major issues but I suppose if you have any concerns you could always make a spacer from a small nut or 150145, and use a longer screw to attach the top of the shock to the strut tower.
  3. Hi Paul These are turnbuckles I have, https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0822HWMPV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glc_fabc_S6DV5T95T5J35P6FW7H1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I did order a couple of packs of washers because I wasn't sure of fit, they were less than £1.50 each. I believe these are the ones, www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Metric-Imperial-Flat-Washers-Heavy-Duty-Zinc-Washer-M5-M20-3-16-1-ID-BZP-/112691914107?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286 These are the others I ordered, www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stainless-Steel-Flat-Washers-M1-6-M2-M2-5-M3-M3-5-M4-M5-M6-M8-M10-M12-M14-M16-/323942767218?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286 I was happy to buy plenty as I will use them in work anyway. I may have been able to fit two in because I filed down the lip to make a flat back hex hub.
  4. Leaf blower for cleaning out the van or car, if it's petrol it'll take about 3 seconds as opposed to 20 mins with a hoover😁 The 2s setup is the sweet spot for this car in my opinion. 3s is too powerful and tears the car apart. I have the 3s only because I thought speed is king, and when I bought my son's car I have him my 2s. I now have the throttle trim on the controller set at its lowest so it is only just faster than the 2s. That may be the reason why I get good run times🤷‍♂️ bigger battery, with power dialled down. A few days ago I received some spare parts and a replacement lid. I decided to go with the MT body but keeping the ride height the same as the XT. I bought a clear body and am undecided what colour to paint it, any ideas? I did think Le man's blue like my big car.
  5. Building up quite a collection there @Seminole81😃 When cleaning my car, especially after getting wet I use one of these air dusters, www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B073F9NY1X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glc_fabc_0PWPJ72456120EFPV664 Does a great job of removing dust, grit, small stones and water from all the parts. I am running mine with a 3s 5000mAh Gens Ace, and get at approx 40-50mins from it. My boy has the same but 2s and gets between 30 and 40mins. No reason you shouldn't get the same as me really with that battery. No get off here and go bashing
  6. I filed the backs down as there was a lip, some people have mentioned flat back hex hubs as a part of the cure for the bent axle issue. When I replaced the washers, the new ones were quite thin and there was quite a lot of play in the wheels. I thought this would not be good on my big car so can't be good on my small car🤔😂 With the two washers I still have good, free movement but, I assume that as it is reduced so are the chances of bent axles.
  7. Hi Apologies if you have read this post already in a thread I started, but I have been asked to keep posts on this owners thread. I will ask for the other thread to be removed. I'm new to the hobby, bought my Quantum flux XT in November and than got my 10 yr old son an MT for Christmas. We are enjoying it a lot but it has cost more than initially expected as it seemed that every time we took them out something broke. I have made some changes to the the stock vehicle, some of which are mentioned in this forum, some are not, so I thought I'd go through them and explain some of what I have found out. I hope it doesn't come across as a noob trying to preach to the choir🤣 Firstly I would suggest that a 2s setup seems to be the sweet spot for this car. I did replace my 2s with a 3s when I got my son's car and seemed to lose some control. Parts seemed to break more on my car as opposed to my son's. I now make a lot of use of the throttle trim on the controller, when bashing I dial it down and if driving on flat ground and want more speed, I dial it up. This has led to less breakages and bent axles. I have put loctite on the drive shaft grub screw and the servo horn screw. I have replaced the small washers on the axles behind the hex hub with 2 of 12mm M5 washers on each wheel, I have also filed down the lip on the back of the wheel hex hub, this has also helped with bent axles. My son still has the original parts (non hd) but has not bent any axles since I have done this. I have replaced my axles and drive shafts with the hd parts. I have replaced my turnbuckles with stronger parts I bought from Amazon as the original were like many parts on this car, made of biscuit😜😂 (especially the suspension arms) I have replaced the suspension springs with some bought from eBay and Amazon but found none worked well. I have since bought the option part, which come on the quantum+. The 1.4mm firm springs are installed on the rear with the 1.3mm on the front, both have TLR 70w (910cst) oil in the shocks. The car is driving better than it has before. We've had a lot of fun with these cars, not only driving them on the tarmac on the estate in which we live, or the local park but also searching for places to smash them up😜 this is not easy in central London, but we have identified one or two places. As an introduction, to RC cars the Quantum flux has not failed and it looks like my son is hooked, which means I am to😉. I have kept all my receipts for everything I have bought, bit like my log book for my big car. Not sure I should count up, may have spent enough to buy a much better model but nevermind, just need to make sure the wife doesn't see it all😨 Hopefully, with the hd parts available now, the expenditure will come down and this car will be seen as the great little budget basher it is.Hi this car will be seen as the great little budget basher it is.
  8. Or a wing nut I suppose
  9. I could probably do that for now. Although it might be a bit difficult drilling through the thread for the body clip without a drill press and clamp. If I can though I might just make four and use them permanently. My broken post was on the back originally, but as the front sits lower in the mount, I tried to swap them under the illusion that if the glued break/joint was hidden inside the mount just above the screw it might not break again as easily as if it were above the mount.
  10. Thanks guys. @James.S yeah speed is definitely not king with this car. @Seminole81 I have the same problem. Broken post but no stock anywhere. I attempted to buy some from eBay but that was a waste of time and money. Next step, Araldite🤷‍♂️. I swapped the posts around so the glued joint was within the post holder assuming it might have more strength but it still broke again quite quickly. I spent most of my time out today with the front corner of my lid flapping around, but did not detract from the fun. The search for metal posts continues😉
  11. Hi Just thought it only right that I add more to this forum, than just reading and taking advice. Please forgive me if I have posted this in the wrong place or any other such rookie errors🤔 I'm new to the hobby, bought my Quantum flux XT in November and than got my 10 yr old son an MT for Christmas. 12. Definitely wouldn't use gorilla glue, if you ever need to remove it, you'll have a problem. I have loctite and it's held up well. Been out bashing and the battery has just died, but no breakages today😁
  13. Hi Phil I wouldn't bother with those post mounts. They are too small. Although it states they are 6mm, they are more like 4-5mm. If I find any suitable posts I will let you know.
  14. Hi I've just ordered these from eBay, once I get them I will let you know if they are any good. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Body-Post-Mounts-For-RC-Car-1-10-Axial-SCX10-90022-90027-90028-Accessories-/264933750692?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292
  15. Hi All I've been running two of these for a while now, an XT since early November and an MT since Christmas (my son's). So far it's cost us quite a bit in replacement parts, in part due to a huge collision 😫 I've made some adjustments and completed all the recommendations as per this post (been reading but not commenting). I will try to post some pictures of the damage, repairs and alterations I've made in a later post, just don't have time right now. I think it's now time to look at pulling the diffs apart and servicing the whole car so I am wondering if anyone can advise what weight oil I should order and anything I should consider when doing so. Thanks
  16. Like my big cars more than my little ones 😁
