  1. Hi guys,I’m running a KEXB with a TP4070 motor but looking to pick up a used Hobbywing 4985 1650kv to test just to see how it compares. Does anyone have one spare one they’d want to sell? Don’t get me wrong, the TP4070 is a superb motor and I love it but just want to try something else - just curious really so don’t want to buy the Hobbywing brand new before anyone suggests that! Tia.
  2. Hey guys, Have decided to sell my DX5 rugged. It’s currently on eBay so if anyone is interested then here is the link… https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Spektrum-DX5-Rugged-Transmitter-NO-RESERVE-/334114425511?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0 cheers.
  3. Cheers bud, thanks for the advice. I think you’re definitely right, plus with the 22t pinion it will be pretty uncontrollable…..well for me anyway! It’s just I have a 22t going spare so thought I’d chuck it in. Am going to order a few different pinion sizes, might get 15,17 and 19t to start with and see how the temps go.
  4. Great, thanks. I’ll look them up 👍🏽
  5. TP Power TP4050-CM 2300kV 8s brushless motor Spec: Can: Smooth (sealed) T: 6D KV: 2300 Max Amps (A): 250 Max LiPo: 8s Continuous Power (W): 2500 Max Power (W): 5100 Max RPM: 80k Internal Resistance (Ohm): 0.0042 Shaft Diameter (mm): 5 Flat spot: Yes Diameter X Length (mm): 40mm x 82mm Weight: 475 g Pole: 4-pole Great condition. Only selling as I’ve ordered a TP4070. This motor is the CM (competition motor) version and will cost €200 + import charges to the UK from TP Power direct so grab a bargain. Comes with the 6.5mm bullet connectors as pictured (this was used with Max6 esc). £130 posted (fully insured). Any questions then please ask.
  6. Thanks Logie. I've been running it on 12t and 4s - still savagely fast IMO! ive actually decided to swap it out for a TP4070 2080kv which I’m going to try with the 22t pinion - might still be a tall but it’s such a big motor I’m hoping it can handle it!
  7. I haven’t actually run it yet as I’ve been away unfortunately. Hopefully going to get out Tuesday for a bash. I’ve decided to put the 12t pinion in to start with though and will look at the temps across the lipo, esc and motor to see how it goes. I would think that would be slightly undergeared but only time (and the temp gun!) will tell…
  8. I’m new to the world of esc/motor/gearing as I’ve always just used stock gear before so please be gentle! 😂I’ve just bought a used Kraton EXB rtr which was reasonably priced; it has a max6 esc and TP 2300kv motor fitted (picture attached).Didn’t know much about the max6 but thought that sounded like a sensible combo. However, just looking at the max6 specs and looks like the biggest KV motor you can use on 6s is 1500kv. I know that limit is based on a specific motor can size though so may not be applicable. Am I going to have issues with that combo? it currently has a 22t pinion fitted and I plan to run it on 4s initially if that helps answer the question! TIA!
  9. Doh! I knew I’d missed something but couldn’t see what! Thanks. £300
  10. TLR (Team Losi Racing) 8ight-T/8T brushless truggy. Fully RTR. 2 lipos and charger included. This Losi 8ight-T truggy has had a brushless conversion. It was converted using the official TLR conversion kit. Top quality machine, this is not a toy; it does 55-60mph on a 4s lipo! Comes with Spektrum DX2E DSMR radio gear. Will also come with 2 x 3s, 5500mah 35c and 1800mah 65c both with balance lead protectors fitted, and a SkyRC T6755 touchscreen charger. Spec: 4mm TLR aluminium chassis 17mm hex wheels 4mm alloy shock towers (front and rear) 2 pinions provided (16T and 20T) HPI rage ESC https://www.wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/116785/ HPI Flux Scream 1/8th Scale 1965KV Brushless Motor with heatsink fitted. https://www.wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/116786/ Virtually new Arrma 15kg servo. https://www.wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/238086/ All works as it should. Will still be in regular use until sold. Both the lipos have only every been balanced charged and then stored properly after use. This is a very fast car and not for children. More than happy for people to come and see it running. £300 for the package. I’d much rather collection so the buyer can see it all working. I’m only selling as I’m going treat myself the new Arrma Kraton v5. This has been priced to sell so grab a bargain! I’m sure I’ve missed something out so questions then please ask.
  11. Thanks bud! I’ve got a 16T pinion but yet to test it as I had a mishap with the esc connector last time out which needs re-soldering! 🤦🏽‍♂️ Plus, I’m crap at soldering so if anyone is in Bournemouth and can help it would be much appreciated! 😂 I’m not sure what brand the conversion kit is as I bought it post conversion. It looks like the official one originally supplied by Losi. Seems decent quality though. I'm actually after an Arrma 6s as my next present to myself.....not sure I’ll be allowed to keep both permanently though as I’m already getting grief about the amount of garage space I’m using! 😂
  12. Thanks for the reply. The motor does get warm but I think you’re right about the esc, certainly the weak link in the chain. I did actually buy an Arrma BLX185 combo which I was keeping to put into a Kraton EXB when they come back into stock but might just have to use them in the 8ight instead. Did take a look at yours And looks good but don’t really need a third motor...! 🤣 I have a heat sink on the motor rather than a fan but might look at changing that too if it makes a big difference. thanks for your advice, very much appreciated!
