I usually bend the front CVD shafts and the rear dog bones, the other day I bent a CVD and sheared off the c-clip holding the left drive cup of the front diff in place... Maybe 3s and a 4350kv motor with a 23/24t pinion and 49t spur gear is too much for it? It did hit 47mph at like 75% throttle with just RWD and the clutch slipping.

Anyone know if there's stronger driveshafts available for the vantage? I seem to keep twisting or bending mine.

I already have the pinion fitted to match the pitch of the acetal version of the 49t spur gear.

Been a while since I posted in here, so recent updates, I swapped out the factory brushless combo for the Photon 2.1FW and matching 4350Kv motor as I burnt out the original to the point it just would not move, got the aluminium steering arms and hub carriers, aluminium suspension holders, a Power HD LW20 20kg servo and aluminium 12mm hex's for the hubs, have been waiting for the steel 49t spur gear for a couple months now because running this thing for extended periods on a 3S pack is not possible, it just melts the plastic spur gears, even the hardened acetal ones, especially at a 50C discharge rate, no matter what I do, it spins up all 4 wheels, even from a rolling start at half throttle and on grass... It just sits there doing a 4 wheel burn out while the rear tyres are reaching for the wing, speaking of tyres, I'm going to need some new ones. **EDIT** I also have the RW motor mount fitted.

So what you're saying is, get the right parts and you could make a LWB Vantage. xD All jokes aside(or are they?), that makes a bit of sense, seeing as the carnage is a MT which is meant to be a bit bigger.

Are the chassis for the carnage and vantage exactly the same?

The RW got stripped possibly because I forgot to tighten the motor mount and it slipped, I can't remember, as for where I'm running it, it's a bit of both speed runs and all terrain.

Hey, haven't posted here since I got the brushed Vantage, have since gotten the brushless one and used the brushed one for parts, for some reason the brushless one seems to be a bit tougher from factory? Have still broken parts including a steering, several wings, suspension holders which I've replaced with aluminium and bent driveshafts, I've also stripped a few spur gears, including a RW 49T hardened acetal paired with a RW 24T hardened pinion, both 32DP, put the stock gears back in but the stock spur didn't like 3S power and it stripped, currently waiting for a RW 32DP 49T hardened steel spur to go with the 24T pinion I already have but does anyone know what the highest gearing the motor and ESC can take is? As I have noticed there's still room to fit bigger pinions but if I need to get a new motor to gear it higher, then that's fine. P.S I just remembered, does anyone know if there's 2.2 size belted buggy tyres available? I'm sure not having the tyres balloon out would greatly help with traction and handling.

What chassis is that?

Is there a limit to how small the spur can be and how large the pinion can be? Other than what the motor can handle of course.

lol yeah, now it's time to choose between replacing with standard parts or hop-ups.

I think it was the full throttle into a fence that did it... Was doing some night time bashing in the rain. 😅

Had my brushed Vantage less than a month and it's already in pieces... Broke the servo saver, front diff housing and main chassis plate by crashing into a fence. 🤦‍♂️

Hi, I thought I'd join a model forum after purchasing my first model last week, an FTX Vantage brushed, I'm a 28 year old guy from down south and I'm generally just looking for tips on what to get or upgrade for my models(I plan on getting more already 😅) and find out what clubs are around.
