  1. Thanks to M33BHARDWAJ for the advice on using Youtube to load videos here. Hopefully this works! First time out with the Rival. https://youtu.be/S8YmuFor39g
  2. Could it be something to do with the servosaver loosening? That's about the end of my knowledge but look at tip #6 in this video as that talks about the servosaver coming loose which might give play?
  3. Can't really comment if there are better models out there but for the price I am really happy with mine. It's my first RC car for 20 years (had a couple of nitro models in the past) and even on a 2S battery it's just huge fun. Plenty quick enough and seems pretty tough so far - has had plenty of crashes and just shrugs them off. You need space though, not a back garden plaything but I have some woods just up the road with sandy hard packed soil and lots of bomb holes and jumps that mountain bikers have built. It's perfect for plenty of air time, power slides and donuts 🙂
  4. Great to see it running! Mine is here! Lovely model, seems a shame to get it dirty! Just waiting on a lead to connect the battery to the charger that I didn’t realise I needed then it's time to bash 🙂
  5. Apparently mine is coming tomorrow - super quick! 🙂
  6. Thanks to m33bhardwaj for the heads up on stock at Modelsports. Looks like the importers gave all the latest stock to them instead of sharing it across other shops. I had mine on back order somewhere else but they have been fine and refunded my money so have ordered with Modelsports - hopefully won't be long now 🙂
  7. Hi all and thanks for the replies, really useful. I have a SkyRC T100 on order (coming tomorrow) so hopefully won't be the same potential issue as the D100. Is the figure 8 lead where you plug into the + and - terminals? Now, looking more closely at the charger, I'm going to need an adaptor cable as the battery has a Deans connector to match the Rival MT10 (when it comes) but the charger has 'banana' connections...
  8. Have just ordered a 2s LiPo battery and SkyRC charger in readiness for when my Rival MT10 arrives (I'm new to electric/LiPo etc). I assume batteries will have been sitting around before you buy them and have read the various guides on how to charge/store/balance the batteries but I'm not sure how to treat a new battery when you first get one? Do you storage charge it (will be a few weeks before I get the Rival) or condition it in some way first? Thanks.
  9. Thanks all, can't wait to get my hands on it but 06 July is projected date sadly. Looks well worth waiting for though.
  10. So, still waiting for the arrival of my Rival MT10 and the anticipation is building. Been watching various videos and wanted to ask about how you control the pitch of the car in the air? Is it throttle on brings the front up and braking pushes the nose down? Can't believe the air some people get and the cars surviving but I assume there's more to it than just hitting a ramp flat out and hoping for the best?
  11. So, still waiting for the arrival of the Rival but the anticipation is building. Been watching the videos and wanted to ask about how you control the pitch of the car in the air? Is it throttle on brings the front up and braking pushes the nose down? Can't believe the air some people get and the truck survives (apart from the front suspension arm weak point)
  12. Cheers for the info - plenty to think about by the look of it!
  13. Hi all, just ordered a Rival MT10 although a good few weeks to wait for it to come in unfortunately. Any advice on batteries (2s or 3s) would be appreciated. What sort of run times can I expect to get? This is my first RC car for ages and had nitro before that so a total novice about brushless and LiPo batteries. I was going to ask about running it in but seeing the video it looks like you just go for it! Thanks, Nick.
  14. Hi all, Just ordered a team Associated Rival MT10 although several weeks wait unfortunately. Have had a couple of nitro models in the past purely for fun - a 1/8th buggy that I was going to race and didn't (got sold for a 100cc race kart) then a 1/10th nitro rally car that has been gathering dust for 10 years. Been looking at brushless tech for a while and decided to go for it 🙂
