  1. Morning all 👋 I’ve recently purchased my first nitro, a Hyper 7 TQ2, and it needs quite a bit of work, a nice little project. I’m relatively new to RC and am looking for some advise on shock absorbers for this car. It has come with stock parts but they are shot. I will be racing the car, mainly on tarmac, with a few mates, nothing serious, as well as a bit of grass running in the park with my kids. I’m looking for some advise as to what shock absorbers will be suitable for both types of usage, what springs to use and what oil. Thanks in advance
  2. Hi Guns, I’ve just watched a couple of videos. With brushless cogging it looks like a stuttering start, followed by movement. On mine however the pinion gear stutters and won’t move. This problem isn’t constant however. It sometimes does start and will work for a few minutes but if I stop then the stuttering starts and it won’t move at all. I can hear the transmitter and receiver communicating but the motor shaft won’t rotate.
  3. I’ve managed to set up a YouTube channel - ‘Robert Madigan-Browne’ and have posted a video titled “stuttering motor on a brushless set up. Help lol”
  4. I can’t upload to YouTube unfortunately (wouldn’t know where to start #Dinosaur) I’ve just removed the spur gear leaving the pinion gear free standing on the motor and it still stutters. Does that rule that out? (I understand I may still need to gear down)
  5. Hi Tug, thanks for the reply, you guessed correct lol. I hadn’t even thought about the gears as the stuttering is intermittent so I assumed it was to do with the battery or another part cutting out. But now you mention it the problem does occur when I come to a stop, so it could be the gears. I will watch some YouTube videos tonight educate myself on the effects different size gears can have. 👍
  6. Hi, new guy here I’m new to the world of RC cars and bought a Tamiya Dark Impact DF03 as an introductory car. After running on the standard kit for a week I decided to upgrade to a brushless set up. It seemed to go alright but after 10 minutes I started incurring a repetitive problem. It will run for a few minutes but then cut out. I can hear the transmitter and receiver working together but there’s either no motor movement or it just stutters. If I leave it for a few mins, or lift it off the floor, it then seems to go again before cutting out, again. I’m running a LiPo 4000mah 50C 7.4 2S, a 4370kv 9T 820W brushless motor and a 60A 5.8v/3A ESC. From what I've read (correct me if I'm wrong) I may need an ESC with 120A (something to do with the A my motor is drawing(?) I have moved the receiver away from the other parts as I read interference may cause stuttering. I've fully charged the LiPo, changed the batteries in my transmitter and I've adjusted the trim. All the wires are secure in the receiver too. Can anyone help please? Thank you in advance.
