  1. I've Just seen Hobbyking has the Turnigy one for sale (but out of stock) for the same price as the USA store, so that shows me the UK stockist I found is a rip off, as it is over double the price!!
  2. I took my Truggy to the track for the first time at the weekend (only been a park basher, never done tracks before) and I must say, I loved it! I was terrible and couldn't complete a lap without hitting something, but it was great fun lol. i'm going to take the Nitro Buggy this weekend as the guys there all said the track is not ideal for a Brushless Truggy, it is easier to drive with a Nitro Buggy due to the layout and size. A couple of the guys had Pit Buddies for there Nitro Cars and Starter Boxes, I asked where they got them and they just said search for a "Pit Buddy" on line and i should find them. (they were friendlier than that lol, but that was the gist of it) Well, I can't find them anywhere, does anyone make them still? if so, does anyone know where I can get them? Google isn't bringing much up to be honest, I have found a place in the USA that sells the Turnigy Trackstar Universal Pitbuddy but they do not ship to the UK, and then there is a store in the UK that also sells the same one, but it is over double the price of the American one, so I don't really want to buy that one if they are ripping me off, I want to get a rough price for them, if they are round the price of the UK one then I will pay it, but if they are closer to the US version, I don't want to pay what the UK place is selling for as i'm not a fool lol. Pictures for reference. Turnigy Trackstar Pitbuddy…. Non specified Pit Buddy....
  3. Hi All, My truggy has lights on it (fitted by previous owner) they are plugged into Channel 3 on the Receiver but are on a permanent live feed so always on. I wanted them to be switched via the 3rd channel on my Transmitter so i bought an RC Light Switch from ebay. It arrived yesterday and i plugged it all in as per the video on Youtube that the auction directed me too and it doesn't work, the lights do not even turn on, let alone switch on and off as i expected. I messaged the seller and he told me that the switches only work with a 6v feed and as i am using 4s Li-Po's with 14.8v the switch will not work. I was wondering how people get these switches working on their vehicles as i imagine a 6v feed would mean the vehicle would be extremely slow. if i want the lights to work, do i have to have them permanantly on? or is there a way to make the switch work with my set up?
  4. Yes, 2nd Class is fine, i'm busy this weekend so can't really do anything with it anyway
  5. Cool, i'll take it. send me your PayPal details and i will send it over now.
  6. I'll have a look as the controller i have given him is about 15 years old and is proper basic, i've not really looked at it to be honest.
  7. Nice one, thank you. It currently has the Max8 Combo in it, so i think i will just tone it down with a decent Transmitter and that way i can keep the Rolling chassis as spares as its the same Buggy.
  8. Brilliant, thank you, Yes, fingers crossed he likes it as i then have a perfect excuse to go to the track and the Mrs can't say anything as i will blame my Son lol. I didn't even think about end points, that's a great shout. it would be cheaper to buy a better Transmitter with End Point adjustments etc. than getting a new ESC and Motor set up.
  9. Hi everyone, I'm trying to get my Son into the Hobby, he is 14yrs old and spends his life on the PS4 lol. Want to get him out and in the fresh air, and when lockdown is lifted get him over a track. I have a Brushless Buggy that I have been letting him use but its too powerful for him and my Nitro is a bit complicated for him to start off with as he can't get to grips with starting it, let alone the tuning side I have a rolling Chassis for another buggy that I could build him a new car from. I would make it Brushless for now, so my question would be, if I put an ESC and motor COMBO designed for a 1/10 model into a 1/8 Buggy, would that give him a slower buggy to start with, or would this just kill the ESC?
  10. I am trying to find a Body for a Kyosho Inferno SS US Sports Truggy. I can't seem to find one anywhere, Looking at google and seeing some build threads, I think i will be able to make either the Kyosho Inferno Neo Body or the Mugen MBX8T shell fit. But i can't find any of these in stock either. Where do people buy Shells from? any good recommendations for people that have a good stock of shells usually. Preferably i would like either the Original Shell or the Neo Shell, but the Mugen one will do if i can't get them.
  11. Yes, i was using lower % fuel, i have now ordered the Higher % as was advised it will run so much better and tune easier
  12. So, it turns out my MP7.5 was running on the wrong fuel, thats why i have been struggling to get it running properly, I was using the 16% Nitro i had for this Buggy before i done the Conversion as this one had a .21 Engine in it and i always used 16%. As the Kyosho has a .28 Engine in it i've been advised to get Opti Fuel 25% Race Fuel and use O.S No8 Glow Plugs. So i have ordered them and will await there arrival before i can start getting that one up and running too now I'm a bit lost as i was hoping i would get both Buggies running for this weekend so me and the Boy could've gone out for a Bash over the park, guess it will just have to wait till next weekend now. With nothing to do with the build now, i need to think of things to keep me occupied whilst i'm waiting for Parts. Does anyone have anything they use that is a decent project to get your teeth into? i was thinking of Building a Ramp or something similar, but then it's a pain to lug it around and my Garden isn't big enough to set one up in and actually get some good speed and jumps, so will have to think of another build project
  13. Come to a bit of a Halt on the Build at the moment as waiting for Parts to arrive, I am now concentrating on getting my Kyosho MP7.5 US Sports up and running now as that needs running in properly and tuning up. But in the time between tuning and waiting for parts i have decided to make a Set Up Board. I have been looking on websites at the HUDY Set up station and Set up board and i just cannot warrant spending the best part of £200 for all of that, so looking at what is there, i reckon i can make a very basic version of it, but give me the exact same principles. My Daughter has a Whiteboard that she was using for her A-Levels so doesn't need that any longer, it is 600mm x 450mm so is the Perfect size for a 1/8 Scale set up board. So i am going to get a Sharpie pan and mark a Central Line, and 2 lines where the front and rear hubs should line up, with a line where the wheels are central (as below) I have Ordered 4 Squares of Clear Accrylic 100mm x 100mm & 2mm thick, with a 12mm hole drilled in the centre. These will be put on instead of my Wheels when on the Board. These will then line up with the lines where the front and rear hubs should go, and then with a Protractor i can then measure my Toe in & Toe out. I already have a Camber Gauge that will do the Camber adjustments, and i will make up some chassis blocks to use to adjust Droop. All i need to do now is order a Ride Height gauge and i will have a complete set up station for less than £25 White Board - Already Had Acrylic Blocks - £7 Protractor - £1 Camber Gauge - Already Had Droop Blocks - Will make out of stuff i already have Ride Height Gauge - £15
  14. Took the car out for it's first run today, it is stupidly fast on 2x 3s Batteries, too much for me to handle and unfortunately it hit a lamp post that i was using as a marker for figure 8's i was doing to get used to the car 🙈🙈🙈 I've bent the Shock arm and the front lower suspension mount. Luckily it's a Cheap fix, and has actually helped me make my mind up to change the Shocks rather than keep trying to find the correct springs It has set me back about a week though as going to have to wait for the parts to arrive now Think i will stick with 1 x 3s Battery at a time until i get used to it, Also, may be wise to practice in an open space rather than a car park with Lamp Posts dotted around lol. Luckily i was fully expecting a few casualties along the way, so not too disheartened I must say though, WOW!!!!! When it was going, it was flying!! and i haven't even started to set it up properly with Ride height etc. this was just a quick run out to see how it went. once it's all dialled in, this is gonna be a beast!!! I need to trim a bit of the shell at the back as it looks like it is sitting a bit higher at the back one end than the other, i didn't really notice it till i saw this Pic and then had a proper look at it, You can see its higher on the rear shock tower one side than the other if you look closely. Also, i'm contemplating Orange wheels on the Front and Black on the Back, but not 100% sure if it will look good or not.
  15. That's great, Thanks. Unfortunately I have done a ground up rebuild on both vehicles so the Buggies are no longer set like they were out off the Box.
  16. I have a Kyosho MP7.5 US Sports Nitro 1/8th Buggy & a Schumacher Swift 2 Pro 1/8th Brushless Buggy and was wondering if anyone knows if there are any Base Settings for Ride Height, Toe , Camber & Droop that I can set up my Buggy too and then make it easier to work from in setting it up for different types of Use. I've looked in my Manuals for both Buggies and there isn't really any info for these settings, it just says have the Grub Screw 1mm out for the Droop settings, but nothing for the Ride Height etc. What do people run for there Set Ups???
  17. This is the Servo I have in my Car at the Moment. Would you recommend changing it for something better as its probably about 12-15+ years old and the tech is pretty old now. If so, what Steering Sevo would you recommend??
  18. So i have tried everywhere to find the correct sized springs but struggling as every time i order a set they are either too short, or not strong enough to hold the weight of the car! I think i am just going to buy the Full shock kit as mentioned above. They are racing shocks, will they make much of a difference? my Shocks don't seem too terrible, it's just the springs that need replacing. is it worth replacing the complete shocks or shall i keep looking for the correct springs?
  19. The Reciever and Spoiler arrived today so I fitted them and set up the ESC. I took the rear springs off the Nitro Car so I could get a pic of it complete all that's left to do on it now is fit the bumper and do the pinstripe and its finished!! here it is as it stands at the moment, may take it to the local skate park to get some better pics at the weekend.
  20. Day 10. Everything is now in Place inside the vehicle apart from the Receiver, I have ordered a new one that should hopefully be here tomorrow. All that is left to do now, Once the Receiver is in and fitted is..... 1. Fit the Rear Shock Springs (Need to find the Correct ones as the ones i have seem too soft). 2. Fit the Front Bumper (Hopefully Arriving Today/Tomorrow) 3. Fit the new Black Spoiler (Hopefully Arriving Today/Tomorrow) 4. Set up the ESC 5. Do the white Pinstripe on the Body (Hopefully Arriving Today/Tomorrow) I'm hoping if i can get the correct springs ordered today, this should all be up and running and ready to run by the Weekend In the downtime between now and when all the bits arrive, hopefully i can get the Nitro car Dialled in and running properly so that at the weekend, me and my Boy can have some fun with both Cars.
