  1. At the moment I am also looking at some cheaper alternatives.... yes I know you get what you paid for, but this is the start for me and I will probably do some upgrades in future anyway. Holmes are quite pricey comparing to other brands. I am just looking on modelsport.co.uk site and found a few alternatives like for example that one: https://www.modelsport.co.uk/hpi-crawler-motor-35t/rc-car-products/423899 which is obviously a fraction of Holmes price. I also found some Tamiya motors in OK price, like that one: https://www.modelsport.co.uk/tamiya-torque-tuned-motor/rc-car-products/381429 I also found some cheap Holmes on ebay, would that be any good: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Holmes-Hobbies-CRAWLMASTER-SPORT-540-20T-110100099/184281944322?hash=item2ae80f5102:g:158AAOSweVtdqjSw I will defo go for Quickrun 1080 ESC but I am not sure if that would fine with cheaper motors..? I know, so many questions, I am sorry
  2. Thank you guys! It all makes much more sense now. I will do some more reading and then will dive into depths of the net to get something ordered. 👍
  3. Thank you very much for this. I now need to decipher all "T" number and number of slots on motors... I am pretty much mechanically minded and I can fix almost anything on normal car but when it comes to electronic I'm a bit of a baby. I mean, I can fit, connect and solder things together, as long as I know which wire goes where 🙂 So every little help is greatly appreciated.
  4. Thank you, I was just looking on something like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Holmes-Hobbies-TRAILMASTER-SPORT-540-27T-Motor-for-RC-Crawlers-SCX10-Ascender/273740307645 But I don't understand all the symbols / numbers. I need to do some more reading...
  5. I am sorry if this was asked already and explained. I am beginning to build my Wrangler. SCX 10 II kit builder kit just arrived and the body is on its way from China. I am just looking for a proper motor for it now. From what I read on the forum and watched in attached videos, it would be a brushed motor I need. There is lots different makes available and I also saw sets like motor + ESC which seemed to be good deal but I have no experience with this so I need a little advice... I need something good but in "normal" price. I am not going to use in any races or competitions so I does not have to high end but something decent which would not brake the bank. Any advice will be highly appreciated. I will probably have more questions about servo etc... but I am trying to do some research myself.
  6. Thank you! It will SCX10 II most likely. Hopefully I will start at the end of this month
  7. Thank you very much for that. I will give this Injora body a try. But I'm going for a LWB. Axial bodies in my opinion look quite flimsy and cheap. But they probably won't crack easily. Your Wrangler looks great. I'm just surprised how much the wheels are sticking out. Is it on standard SCX10?
  8. Hi everyone. As I am quite new to this so I'm trying to explore the options before committing to anything. First of all, since I fall in love with RC I wanted to build a proper 1/10 scale Mercedes Gelandewagen. Unfortunately I could not find any real looking bodies so I decided that it is going to be Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. And here is the question. I can see that there is a lot of hard bodies on ebay etc.. I particularly like the look of Injora bodies as it looks well made good quality. Price is also not bad. Can anybody share their experience if they had any with this brand, especially when it comes to Wrangler. Or if someone knows where I can get a proper G Wagen body, please let me know.
  9. Hello guys, I'm gonna join the discussion as I don't want to make unnecessary new topics. In short words I am hoping to buy raw builders kit soon. I am thinking about SCX10 II to build Wrangler Rubicon on it. Yes,I know this is not very innovative idea but I just love the look of Wrangler. The reason I do not want to look in TRX is a price and most of it comes with portal axles, and I want to achieve as much as possible with scale details. Now, I found also that people building on Xtra Speed kits but I cannot see much of a difference. Anybody could please advise what are the general differences between them two and which would be better?
  10. Hello all members. I am just starting my adventure with RC so please excuse me for any silly questions.
