Thanks for the advice on the tubes, I’ll do that 👍 I’m looking at getting the complete axles - HD drive shafts and gears, 6 bolt lockers and heavy metal tubes. I was shocked at how much slop and flex the stock axles have, the crown wheel/pinion mesh was terrible. I’ve shimmed 95% of the slop out but the stock axle housings just bend like string cheese, so I can’t see the diff gears lasting that long. In fact the whole truck seems pretty flimsy tbh, so my goal is to remove or reduce that to a minimum. Thanks again guys 👍

Hi all.. I’m considering upgrading the axles on my 10.2, and at the moment I’m leaning toward the Pro44’s. Other options are from one extreme to another with Vanquish at the top, and cheap Chinese ones at the bottom. I’m not opposed to Chinese parts - but I’d rather buy from a U.K. supplier, to help support our economy - but what puts me off is spares availability - Greens stock some nice looking KYX axles, so they could be a possibility if spares are available for them. However, SSD Pro44’s seem like a happy medium and are available through RCBitz, along with spares if needed, so my question is; does anyone here use them or have experience with them? What are your thoughts, good or bad? Or any other suggestions? cheers, Andy.

A stunning build, a real credit to you. Can I ask how those SSD axles are doing, and did they need much shimming? Been looking at the Pro 44 ‘s as a possible upgrade for my 10.2. If mine ends up half as good as yours, I’ll be a very happy man.

I bought a 27T Torque Master also. I haven’t fitted it yet, but am looking forward to seeing how it performs hooked up to my HH BRXL.

Me too! Expecting delivery tomorrow. I think the stock battery tray will need to be modified because the 550 can is a little longer. I ordered a 550 for my SCX10.2, but because I use small 2600mah lipo’s losing part of the battery tray won’t be a problem for me...I hope!

The HW 1080 and one of the HH Sport motors (Trail/Torque/Crawl) would be a great combo, and would be fairly cheap at around £70 for both.

It really depends on what kind of driving you’re doing - if you’re into going slow a good brushed setup is all you need. But if you want to go fast you’d be better off going brushless; HH v2 puller pro & a Mamba x would be my choice, albeit an expensive one. Andy 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Evening all, I just picked up my first scaler - a used, but only once by a little old lady, SCX10.2 builders kit, and those flimsy plastic shocks have gotta go! Any suggestions on upgrading to something decent? Any other essential upgrades I should be thinking about? I should also mention that I’m a serial modder - I just can’t leave well alone! Hi all... So, I’m back after 7ish years away from the hobby (couldn’t find/remember my old log in details so started a new profile). Been getting the itch for a few months but was undecided whether I wanted a basher, or that scaler I always promised myself. All I had left from before were my tools - I sold everything else - so I’m having to start again from almost nothing. So, you’re wondering what car I bought, right?
