  1. Hey guys n girls, as title says looking for recommendations on stick transmitters both for myself and my kids. I got bk in2 RC cars cupla years ago at age of 35, I raced as a teenager, I was always a stick man but I bought a pistol type snd I just can't get in2 the swing of it, I have much more control with a stick as it was what I grew up with I guess 🤷‍♂️ and recently built a lunchbox for my lad so he's needing 1 aswel. Any recommendations appreciated folks, and don't know if there is a smaller scale transmitter for kids
  2. Talk batteries to me folks! How are you all powering your midnight pumpkins? Basically got 1 of these from my wife for Xmas (I am experienced in RC) recently built a 3S powered neo scorcher ect getting back in2 the hobby after a lot of years! Are folk still using the NIMH batteries? This was originally my plan but starting to think now a 2S lipo will be a good option as I now have a bit of knowledge about the lipo plus got the charger for ballance charging etc... unsure about motor yet but won't be stock, not mental either possible 1 of my old racing brushed motors but unsure Let me know what yous are using folks. Merry Christmas

  4. hi guys I'm running brushless system on my neo scorcher, hobbywing max 10 and 3300kv motor. I'm thinking of getting a programme card to make it easier to programme as right now I'm programming it through the flashing of esc, which is a bit of a pain lol. Anyone using a card on ther hobbywing system? ? Are they much better ,and are there different ones ect. Thanx in advance
  5. Jeez o I'm actualy quite surprised by the replies, was half expect folk to be like, if youv not used it in cupla month its for the bin 😂😂 abit of good news 👌
  6. Thanx guys 👍 I will get a look at the cells 2night see what they are sitn at
  7. Ment to add, its a overlander 3S 50c battery
  8. Hey guys bn a little while since posting on here and as title, looking to see what's best for my lipo battery as its not getting regular use. Its always at storage charge and kept in the house at room temp in a lipo bag. Prob not bn fully charged in 2-3 months, should I charge it and then storage charge again?? I do plan to charge over weekend and use it to give it a cycle. Cheers peeps
  9. Cheers fella. Doesn't get used alot tbh... Probably due to the nature of the build ie... Lipo 3s ect.. Can't jst charge it n plod about the back door anymore, far to quick for that + obv looking after the battery ect...
  10. Hey guys n gals as title says I have a 3300kv hobbywing brushless system with max10 ESC. I know obv the ESC is prity much maintenance free but as for the motor, is there any servicing to be done to maintain it? Only been used a total of 2-3 hours but wld obv carry out any servicing to it if required. Cheers 👍
  11. Hi gays n gals, last year I got back into rc cars (was a big hobby of mine growing up) now 34 years old. I bought a tamiya neo scorcher last year and went to work on it. 3s overlander, full ball raced, hobbywing 3300 brushless system ect... Very quick little thing, anyway I was always used to stick transmitter growing up and I could work it good. I'm aware times change and most ore gun type now and I bought a gun type but being out only 3-4 times I'm kinda missing the stick type. Question is do I give it more time to get used to it or buy a stick type. I posted about transmitters b4 and majority of folk wer gun type on RC cars. Any input much appreciated as always
  12. Thanx alot mate. I will try my best to get 1. If not at least I have the metal bevel gear which is the part at fault. And the main big gear. Altho I'm not sure if the big gear has same screw holes and will fit my standard diff case. Hey ho 😎😎😎
  13. Thanx again for reply. U dnt have a link for the diff case by any chance? Hopefully this will strengthen it up abit lol obv I know it will. I know running 3s ect through this model may be too much for the design but I'm a modifying type of guy... And it is just so much fun on loose gravel, short grass
  14. If your car is is stock and ur going through bevel gears I think I shld probably go for metal gears ect. I did think of jst possibly getting another standard plastic bevel gear but realy the power going through mine there is probably no point. I'm looking at fitting the DF02 gears now. 20 quid from model sport and that gives you metal bevel gear (which I know needs 1mm took off the back) and metal big gear. It gives you the metal small becel gears which go in the diff but to use these you need the DF02 diff casing which is different from the tt02b one. But I do think the main problem here is the bevel pinion gear so getting this kit u can use the bevel gear which is metal. And I also seen the bevel gear sold separately from DF02 which was only a few quid. Obv still needs filed down
  15. Hi Chris t and thanx for the reply. Yes I did gather that information but I also seen somewhare that you need the diff case as it's different from the tt02b one,In order to use the smaller bevel gears anyway is what I mean. I suppose the most important ones are probably the main bevel gear and ring gear tbh
  16. Happy Saturday people. I'm in the middle of gathering information on upgrading the bevel gear ect on my tamiya tt02b. So the route im going down I think is fitting the metal gears from the DF02 which fit in but I know you need to loose 1mm off the back of bevel gear which I'm cool with. I'm wondering if anyone on here can let me know the exact parts bag or bags to buy for doing conversion. I have bn looking online and got good info on it, would rather someone who done it let me know exactly what I need. No point on just buying a new plastic one as the car is running brushless 3s ect so quite powerful. Cheers guys have a good day 👍
  17. Thanx for the reply mate. If u don't mind me asking what kind power or setup are u running? The reason I ask as I don't know if iv jst got 2 much power going through mine hence I may be aswel biting the bullet and getting metal ones. Mine is running 3s lipo, hobbywing 3300kv brushless max 10 ESC combo. It's only on setting 3 out of 5 and it's fantastic fun! If I know a similar setup can jst get away with changing the gears now n then, that maybe an option 👍
  18. Hi again chaps. After ALOT of fun last weekend with my tt02b tamiya,I started hearing the farmiliar sound of gears stripping! So after a strip down and investigating this week I'm prity sure the bevel pinion gear is at fault and looks in prity bad shape tbh. Question is, does this gear come as part of the bevel gear set? As its just the pinion bevel gear on end of prop that's striped.spur gear looks ok. I'm guessing there may be metal ones to upgrade to? Any help or opinion apreciated as always
  19. What a fantastic thread I absolutely love these type of threads/stories. Glad u got it sorted out with the help of so many helpful folk on this forum its brilliant. And especial doing this with your grandson at the age of 88? Absolutely fantastic Allan hats off to you sir 👏👏
  20. My noise on acceleration got worse as the day went on. Defo need to strip down and investigate, probably is the rear bevel gears! Jst need to buy the metal ones lol I do understand that it may be too much for the tamiya tt02b but b4 I started moding it I had seen it done so jst went for it. I may buy a more suitable car in future but for now I will continue moding till I can't anymore 😆😆 🚙💨💨💨💨
  21. I have an aluminium motor mount and I took top cover off to look at pinion ect and looks fine. Was expecting to see some signs of slipping/stripping but nothing. I did notice however alot of deep scores in prop shaft whare stones are getting jammed between that and the motor, so iv removed these and my battery is charging so going out shortly to see 🤞 I'm your case tho the noise happening under deceleration is quite strange isn't it 🤔 modifying anything with wheels is a pain in the arse should have left it standard 😂😂😂😭 Kidn on... So much fun on the brushless hobbywing setup with 3s,its insanely quick. And it's only on punch level 3 out of 5 lol
  22. May be abit over the top but such great full it's unreal! Seen a couple done b4 I moded mine. I will strip it down later.
  23. Hey folks, after hammering about with the RC car I'm hearing a noise on hard acceleration! The familiar sound of possibly gears stripping\ jumping. All the gears ect are standard gears still. Car is tamiya neo scorcher running brushless system with 3S. I will strip it later and inspect but what gears are most common for going? Car still useable but prity sure that's what's hapnin 😒
  24. Hey folks. I have a tamiya neo scorcher and when out 2day I noticed straight away my steering was that much out it wouldn't trim out! So after unscrewing thWe plastic piece and moving it round just 1 tooth, it was out a mile out the other way. The servo is 30years May I add lol. So I put another 1 in which is also the same age, I got that 1 going straight by trimming it out, but I constantly needs trimmed like every 5-10 seconds to get to go straight. Are these servos goosed due to age yous recon? Jst looking for other opinions folks. I may just get a servo for the price they are but wondered if anyone could say yae defo they are nackered 😂 👍👍
