Thing is, like I said, sure all you need to do is slap either 1 or 2 (...maybe 3... but that might be pushing your luck a bit @ 7.5 total clearance from the bottom) of these on. If they get crushed then I can just change them whenever I take the assembly off. I would prefer to have some customisation, rather than none at all, even if right now it doesnt seem like I need it. Bearing in mind, the stock servo mount has a reasonable amount of give as it is, so unless you go with aluminium hop-up parts, there is plenty of give.
It was definitely a loose nut that holds the steering knuckle that was causing the main wobble, but the wheel had also come away from the tyre a little bit. So I tidied that up with some super glue.
100% user error. I have definitely been doing this wrong as I had presumed the parts would be a bit more rust resistant. I don't have a compressor, but I do have a Compu Cleaner, which is pretty good.... its also SUPER noisy and I can't use it at the usual times I would need to. No chance I can get a compressor until I move.
I've pretty much fully dismantled the thing to clean it up and clean off the rust. Also given it a wipe down with WD40.
Some of the rear bearing were completely filled with grit though. I had to blast them with degreaser and they are now soaking in 3 in 1... they probably wont get any use as the Bearing kit from RCBearings with rubber seals are on the way.
Annoyingly, I have had my first proper damage.
That's one of the pin that holds the wheel hex adapter to the axle assembly (sorry if i'm getting the terms/names wrong)
Not a bad breakage at only a few quid.
I actually decided to against all advice and get some Pro-Line wheels and Pro-Line Interco TSL SX Super Swamper tires for no other reason that to just be different to everyone else... I'll let you know how that goes
They're traxxas bead lock apparently so that should be interesting to figure out.
