  1. Old thread but you have Al's hobbies https://alshobbies.co.uk/ in Milton Keynes and you have Align-trex https://www.align-trex.co.uk/ in Slough. I am fairly local to Oxford and don't think there is anything around here
  2. Hi guys, there is an event coming up at Paddlesworth RC track
  3. Evening all, Just waiting for my Nanda NRB-5 to arrive tomorrow so will place an order with Modelsport again tomorrow for some other stuff but also wanted to discuss about battery packs. So, (assuming that the nrb-5 does not come with a hump pack) for a nitro car, should I: 1. buy a voltage regulator (6V, 5A) and use some brand new 2s 1350mAh 20C packs that I have 2. buy a LiFe 1900mAh 1C 2S like this 3. Just buy a standard Nimh hump pack like this What would you guys recommend?
  4. I built this kit few days before the 1st lockdown with the intention to race it at my local club in the m-tc class. This never happened unfortunately and I have somewhat lost interest in it. Used it once in the living room (hence the cracked body 😂) but as you can see this is virtually new. Have installed pretty much all the upgrades available for the kit and will come with a lot of spares including: Rage RG-01 Low Profile Servo Rage Clubman 17.5T NAT Spec Motor Rage 2.1 120A NAT Spec ESC Everything in the pictures is included except the transmitter. I can leave it on the car for an extra tenner and it is compatible with flysky radios. I will include a picture of all the parts I ordered, prices have gone slightly up so if someone was ording today, they would pay £327 My price is firm at £250 which I believe is fair.
  5. I was actually, apologies if I misunderstood you. Skills to soldering is not an issue at all I can easily solder PICs. I do lack the knowledge of how an ESC works though, hence I wanted to start this discussion here.
  6. I didn't ask if it's worth it to you. I asked if anyone has tried it for the FUN of it!
  7. Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone ever managed to repair a failed cheap ebay ESC using higher quality parts? Not so much for saving money but just for the fun of it?
  8. Hello to all the members of the forum! My name is Nick and I have just found the forum and thought I would say hi! I first got into the hobby in 2004 when I bought the HPI Rush Evo Nitro and after a lot of fun and a LOT of mods on it I slowly lost interest due to the fact that the hobby was immature in Greece. I now live in the UK and just recently bought a 2nd hand Rush Evo in order to restore it and start getting back into RC's but there is a lot of catching up to do after 13 years! Also I just bought an FTX Comet to get my head around electric cars. On a 2nd note, if anyone in here lives around Aylesbury and would like to meet up, drop me a message! Cheers
