  1. New (well used but new to me) tyres ? they are from an exceed crawler and came from the states. Took me 2 months to find some for sale and finally contacted NitroRCX who had some for sale second hand with wheels. Very happy as they look awesome and are slightly larger than the standard tyres. Green wheels have the new tyres on. Still need to Star the foam, add weights and increase the venting but I’m excited to see how they perform ?
  2. Hi all So with a spare RC (FS Racing buggy) lying around and a cool Lego Technic pickup I thought I'd have a go at merging the two My eldest is really excited to be helping and we have so far had a go at mounting the 540 motor. This is only temporary as we're going to drop the motor lower into the engine bay and install a 12 tooth pinion which should work with the lego gears. This is only meant as a fun project but I'm hoping to at least get it working with a 540t motor and then get the winch and pickup bed set to work with a trigger from the Transmitter Ok why is my Max total upload size only 0.25mb? I can no longer upload photos?
  3. Not sure if this will work but if so this is 4 wheel steering sorted ?
  4. Thanks for the response I think I may go more mainstream for a little more money: https://www.modelsport.co.uk/spektrum-dx5c-dsmr-avc-5ch-tx-w-srs6000/rc-car-products/432357 Only problem is the cost of the receivers...
  5. HI Guys Sorry noob question What transmitters are you all using? I'm considering upgrading the transmitter for my HSP crawler as I'd like more channels (to switch on and off lights) and also so that I can get more options with my 4 wheel steering. I think I need a transmitter which specifically specifies 4 wheel steer or crawler as an option so that I can swap from locked rear, 4 wheel steer and crab (4ws in same direction as the front). I'm seriously considering this: https://www.modelsport.co.uk/absima-cr6p-2-4ghz-6-channel-radio-inc-receiver-/rc-car-products/427793 It has the crawler function (or at least says it does) and with 6 channels should do all I want. (I'll be checking out reviews on it over the next week) The last thing that is confusing me though is having a transmitter which is usable for different models. The above has a 20 model memory function but would that only work with Absima specific receivers OR all 2.4gh receivers,? Obviously I'd prefer the latter Thanks all
  6. Front and rear plastic skid plates modded to reduce size and hopefully stope the snagging on rocks
  7. Sorted. New signal reverser cures the issue ? Was going to upload a video but not low enough mb ?
  8. So I'm waiting on a new signal reverser for my 1/8 HSP crawler as I'm having issues with my Turnigy reverser module. Lots of jitteryness going on when the Turnigy is used. So I ordered the following: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Servo-Signal-Reverser-5-6v-Futaba-JR-Spektrum-Universal/301832582678?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 I just noticed that it's rated 5-6 volts, I'm using 7.2 volt batteries, will I have issues, I'm assuming it will either work, work badly or be damaged. I can't see it damaging any other components so I'm not really bothered as it was cheap enough but has anyone tried using components rated at a lower voltage than your using?
  9. Ok I've ordered a different signal reverser as well
  10. Ah, yes I am, hmm, I haven't got a 3rd channel on my remote unfortunately,. When I unplug on of the servos though the issue goes away, even with the turnigy switch in place ?
  11. I think you may have hit the nail on the head. I thought they were same spec but the new one is digital. Not sure in the standard one
  12. Absolutely no idea. It’s a hsp 1/8 rock crawler so I assume not
  13. Hi all Just installed my new servo for the rear wheel steer and when plugged into the splitter the new one jitters like mad. So much so that it doesn’t turn properly. Sometimes both sets of wheels turn correctly other time the rear steer doesn’t know what it’s doing. I’ve tried a ferrite core which had no affect. Any ideas? Would upgrading the cables to thicker spec make any difference?
  14. Thanks, I'll be honest I'm not sure what it's running off as I'm fairly new to hobby grade RCs, sorry noob here How do I tell?
  15. I'm pretty sure the my current servo is this one which says it's 15kg: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Waterproof-Digital-15Kg-Servo-for-Redcat-HSP-HPI-Team-LRP-1-10-RC-Car-Parts/153058058482?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
  16. Interesting question and one which I've been playing with myself, should i upgrade the 15kg servos on my 1/8 crawler. They do seem a bit slow to respond. What kg should I go?
  17. Thanks GAZ I'll leave it without grease then as I reset the mesh when I changed the motors last week
