  1. Well I've gone and bought this one and thank you all for the advice. I'll see how my son gets on with it but on first few uses we are both really impressed. It has good acceleration and you can even re-programme the ESC for different levels of braking and acceleration. https://www.rctoyworld.co.uk/absima-110-ep-buggy-ab24bl-4wd-brushless-rtr-92113-p.asp I had to also buy a battery pack and charger so it was slightly over my original budget but my son and I are very pleased. I'm now tempted to buy myself one, so that we can do some racing together!
  2. I did see this one when I was looking around but it was outside my budget. https://www.rctoyworld.co.uk/rc-radio-remote-control-yama-15-scale-petrol-rc-buggy-24ghz---pro-30cc-carbon-version-23554-p.asp But I've now bought a brushless model for my son.
  3. My son just wants to use the buggy, he's not the building type! ?
  4. okay thanks - I will double check but the FTX buggy does look pretty good.
  5. There are a couple: The first one is this HSP model: https://www.rctoyworld.co.uk/hsp-xstr-pro-brushless-electric-buggy-24ghz---r-spec-red-39174-p.asp The second I'm considering is made by a company called Absima. https://www.rctoyworld.co.uk/absima-110-ep-buggy-ab24bl-4wd-brushless-rtr-92113-p.asp This second one is at the top end of what I'm prepared to pay, so would be interested to know why is it costs a lot more.
  6. okay thank you but I would like to compare a few models before I decide. Can I post the link to the RCToyworld model to get your views?
  7. Hi! My son is 15 and he did borrow a friend's brushed moster truck. It wasn't that fast, maybe 20mph bit I know he wants something a lot faster. My worry about electric is the cost and maintenance of batteries. Nitro seems cheaper, i.e. just fuel. My budget is sub £200 and I've seen a few models on RCToyWorld's website that I like. I don't want to spend serious money as this is just for fun use not for anything serious racing. If he likes it then maybe he/we might upgrade at a later date. But for now I want to get him something he can enjoy off-road (park of woodland).
  8. Dear All, i hope you can help me. I'm looking for a new RC buggy for my son as a present. But I'm not sure if I should go for electric or nitro. I also see that there are both brushed and brushless motors and from what I've read so far the brushless motor is as fast as a nitro. So I'm considering brushless motor buggy versus a nitro equivalent. Really not sure what the PROs and CONs are between the two.
  9. Dear All, I'm new to RC and looking to buy my first buggy. I'm not sure whether to go for nitro or electric but will ask some questions in the appropriate forum. Regards Ben
