  1. Ha ha! Yeah there's a lot of stuff on there for sale now. Easy to spend when there's such good value. Groups like Arrma Buy and Sell are good though coz if a guy who posts a lot, is very knowledgeable and helpful and has done lots of upgrades and maintenance on his car then sells it - you know it's a good deal. 2. Thanks Derka. Looks like I've got a whole bunch of stuff to learn. My learning curve with bashing monster trucks has consisted of - which bits break the most and what do I replace them with? along with - how do I rebuild the diffs (again)? Sent from my S55 using Tapatalk
  3. Facebook Marketplace. It's a popular social media site as I understand. There's a link higher up the thread. Under the pics. The bloke (Derek) seems sound, although the car hasn't arrived yet he did post it off about 10 minutes after I'd paid him. Go on his profile and you should get to all his other sale stuff. 4. Yeah the Hobbywing is the way to go. When I came into the hobby a few years ago I couldn't understand why people spent loads on ESCs when you could get ones from Banggood with the same specs for a fraction of the price. I thought I'd discovered a secret nobody else knew! So afer a few ESCs going up in smoke and one spectacular fire I realised that everybody else knew the secret except me! Now any oem replacement on any car is a Hobbywing. Sent from my S55 using Tapatalk
  5. an absolute bargain mate Yeah was tempted by some of his other stuff too TBH. If I knew a bit more about it all I probably would have bought more so I'm glad I don't! Sent from my S55 using Tapatalk
  6. Yep. To my untrained eye that seemed like a good deal. Included postage too. The seller had a whole bunch of 1/10 buggies. All virtually unused. Some RTR, some rollers.
  7. Yeah the kids will be faster than me pretty soon - I fear......... Appreciate all the input. Thanks
  8. Most controllers you buy will need their own receiver unless you find one that's the same type as your existing ones. You can find the Absima stick ones on Ebay. If you get one with a receiver then it could control both your cars (though not at the samne time) using the receiver already with your daughter's car.
  9. Thanks Derka Just bought the B6. It comes with a Savox 1258 and an 8.5T motor so I'll start there. Got a couple of FS GT-3C radios that have a lot of adjustment so we'll use them for now. We've got a 30m x 25m lawn out the back so rigging up a course with a few jumps and racing the Vantage against the B6 should give us a bit of practice. 😁
  10. Thanks guys. Very helpful. Yeah with bashing I've already figured out easily available parts is the real deal breaker. Whaddya reckon to this? £100 posted. Looks almost unused. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1348066358729657/?ref=messenger_banner
  11. OK. Our local club (Stonehaven) does 1/10th offroad buggy racing. 2 WD or 4WD (with weight limits) and 2S LiPos. I know nothing about racing buggies. We do have an FTX Vantage but I figure that's not going to be up to the task. I've seen an FB seller with lots of 1/10th rollers such as Team Associated B6 or PR Racing for what looks like good money (£100). I have plenty of servos, radios and power systems lying about so could build up a roller cheaply. What should I be looking for? Durability most of all? Looking to spend very little just now. It's for the kids to see if they take to it.
  12. That is as cheap as they go TBH. They may not have the right offset for the Rustler though. Depends what surface you're running on. Those original tyres probably work well in California but are **** all use here in NE Scotland where we generally run on wet grass, wet mud, wet gravel or snow. I sourced Proline Trenchers for my Rustler. Work well on most surfaces we run on. They're expensive as wheels/tyres but I picked up 4 tyres only which I then glued on to the original wheels and it worked out at £20 all in. The ProLine Badlands are great for grass/mud and AsiaTees do them for £20 a pair (inc wheels) which is really cheap although there is postage. Worth it if you're ordering a bunch of stuff from them - like RPM bits. They come with adjustable offset for the Rustler and you could just have a pair on the back for maximum traction. On 3S the front tyres don't do much because they're rarely on the ground! https://www.asiatees.com/display?Miscellaneous-All-Parts-Hop-Ups-Upgrades&brand=Miscellaneous&model=All&id=159496&pid=1
  13. Offers? This is a nice shell - very well painted.
  14. Price drop. These are decent radios. Well worth the money.
  15. Oh well - that's cheered me up on a Monday morning. 😐 At least the Kraton came with two sets of good batteries so I have a spare set. However as I've now got an Outcast 6S and an MT410 my battery stocks are looking a bit thin........
  16. Ah well - kinda makes me feel not quite such an idiot.........😐 Thing is, the other one recovered fine. No puffing either. Do I buy another one the same to make up the pair for 6S or is it two new 3S (or one 6S) and use the surviving one in 3S applications?
  17. Left the LiPos plugged in on my Kraton 6S. Was testing a new Rx on it and just plugged the batteries in to power it up and ran it round the lawn once. Put it away and forgot to unplug them. On Wednesday. Went to charge it today. Aaaargh! Dreaded low voltage warning. Rescued one but the other is a gonna. Turnigy 65-135c 5000mah 3S - £50 a pop. Expensive mistake........ 18. The best way to avoid breakages with kids is to improve their driving. You can buy the strongest cars possible and spend more beefing them up but, ultimately, it's the skill of the driver that minimizes damage. Our kids have learned over the past 3yrs by starting slow and having the throttle turned down. When we were all out bashing any stupid driving would result in a ten minute timeout and "demotion" to a slower car. We built a big ramp in the garden and practised on it until they could land jumps properly. If you took a modded Tekno MT410 and just launched it off skate ramps with no skill it would eventually break. Sent from my S55 using Tapatalk
  19. Thanks guys. PM sent and I'll have a look in that site too. Cheers
  20. Hello. I have a Flysky FS-GT2E that's missing its battery cover. (It came to me like that). I've scoured the web looking for a replacement but never had any luck. Then, I chanced upon a file for 3d printing one. Just wondering if anyone on here does any 3d printing and they'd like to print me one? For suitable recompense, of course. SOLD

SOLD Price is inclusive of UK postage. Buyer pays PP fees.
  22. I used a 27mhz radio on my Rustler for a while. Worked OK but the range wasn't as good as a 2.4 ghz system. I did like the sticks though! If you have the correct plug it'll work on your new esc. Otherwise, the other advantage of the GT3C is it's rechargeable so no more messing about with hordes of AA batteries.
