I totally get it now! Thanks for that. As a guitar player and builder of a good number of years, I understand about the resistance etc of wires. Longer or thinner = greater resistance. All about ohms n stuff.. ?

Ands whats the 12t thing all about? Is that the gearing (I'm guessing...)

Well thank ya kindly good sir! The controller I have is an Acoms AP-201...... No idea what any of that means but thats what it says on it. Not tested ANY of it yet, but would the be compatible with the ESC's you linked to?

Hi all. I only just signed up and am a total noob at all this stuff so go easy on me!! I have an old Tamiya Escort Cosworth with a TL-01 chassis and a mechanical speed controller. I'm looking to get an electronic controller for it. Is there something cheap that will just drop in as a direct replacement? Soldering/re-wiring is not a problem as I'm pretty handy with a hot wand. Any and all help and advice will be greatly appreciated, but as I said, I'm a noob at this so please try n keep the technical speak as limited as ya can. Ta very much. :-) Forgot to say, other than some suspension mods it is totally stock (motor, receiver etc...)

Good evening ladies and germs! My name is Adrian and I'm just about (in a week actually) about to turn 51 (amazed I've made it this far!!). I've had a fascination with RC stuff ever since I was nowt but a young wipper-snapper (some may gather from that that I'm from Nottingham...). I had a superbly slow and disappointing Porsche-Le-Mans type RTR car when I was a wee lad but never used it as it chewed through the C/D cell batteries in no time! About 20 years (ish) ago I bought a Tamiya Escort kit from the now unfortunately gone Beatties here in Notts. Sadly, life n stuff got in the way of me ever getting the fun out of it that I always wanted. I'm hoping to get the escort back up and running and am here hoping for some tips n stuff. I also just got hold of a Heng Long Tiger (my second actually... The first I only had for a few weeks and it didn't have the smoke and sounds..) that I want to eventually upgrade with a proportional turret rotation and barrel system and a descent paint job!. I also build, repair and customize electric guitars for a hobby. Any-who.... thats me! :-)
