  1. only just realised your rustyrc on youtube haha! love your videos man!! if there is a loose clutch spring or snapped the car will not idle at all as the clutch will be loose which will engage the clutchbell hense it not being able to idle, trust my ive had my trophy truggy for a while now, the engine is perfect but hpi put a stupid cheap 2 shoe clutch in it, the only way he will get it to run at the minute is a really high idle, whip out the engine takes 2 mins and put a new spring on the clutch, i think they cost no more than £5 for a pack of two, and all your problems will go away! (well hopefully but thats nitro for ya!) Clutch springs https://www.modelsport.co.uk/hpi-clutch-springs/rc-car-products/31815
  2. ive had the same problems with my trophy truggy when i first got it mate, it might sound hard to do but its really easy, take the engine out and put a new clutch spring around the clutch, the clutch in these truggys are garbage! the 2 shoe clutch becomes loose and it causes the idle to be all messed up, id recommend upgrading to the hpi 3 shoe clutch and all the problems will go away.
  3. i think im being to anal with the tune haha! had it out the other day and compared to my racing buggy i think it just runs different ha! but oh well its a good basher!
  4. So i took the hpi truggy 4.6 out today first time in months, i upgraded the clutch from a 2 shoe to a 3 shoe while it was sat doing nothing, so i thought id start fresh with the stock settings on the engine and everything just seemed so lean, especially the LSN, would fitting a new clutch change the effect of the stock settings? took me a while to get a good settings (still quite noobish with nitro) but it would be good to know for next time i start fresh thanks
  5. Someone at my local race track is selling a xray xb8 2016 spec with a Bullitt 220 engine and loads of spares and running gear he wants 300 for it, I'm going to see if it's still for sale, if not I'll bid on that losi 4.0 above I think, or buy a rtr sworkz 350 and upgrade it as I go along. God knows ??
  6. Hmmm I suppose putting it that way it's not so bad, so does the engine come with all the flywheel and clutch and everything or are they separate?
  7. Ideally I want something new and work up if you know what I mean, makes it more fun and yeah I'm liking the kyosho
  8. A good starting buggy though right? I want something I can use out the box then upgrade piece by piece, I ran my trophy truggy round the track for the last few weekends all day and nothings broke on that and that's all plastic lol!
  9. Ones £350 and I think ones a bit more swaying towards the kyosho at the moment
  10. That's 200 for that, on top of that I need to buy a engine servos, radio equipment and some other bits lol! I think I've narrowed it down to either the losi 8ight rtr or the Kyosho Inferno MP9 TK13
  11. That's probably a bit out the price range seeing as I only brought my trophy truggy last month haha! I'm quite liking the losi 8ight rtr then buying the parts to make it the race version
  12. Wow that losi 8ight 4.0 is sexy! I want that lol
  13. It would be purely for racing as for bashing I'll just the trophy, I've read good things about losi so I'll check them out! I guess the more I spend the better it will be. I like the look of the habao hyper vs the new one hmmmmm
  14. I've got a trophy truggy at the moment and recently started racing and it seems buggys are the way forward for racing, so I'm on the lookout for a new nitro buggy, what would you recommend? Something were there a lot of spare parts and has to be 1/8 and hopefully something I can upgrade in the future(i love a good excuse to take it to bits ) Ones I've looked at so far are the hpi 3.5 and pulse and the hobao vs, any others you would recommend? Thanks
  15. If the above doest work take the engine out and replace the clutch shoe spring only like £2 easy job to do just Google it, I brought a truggy new and had nothing but problems with it, changed the clutch shoe and spring and now it idles perfect!
