Morning all,
Im hoping someone here may be able to help me out as i`m struggling to sort this.
Firstly, ive been into Rc cars for about 28 years, so im not a novice. ive had plenty of Petrol powered cars over the years but this issue has me stumped.
Im trying to fit a Dynamite 1240 Kill switch into an FG with a Zenoah g230. The engine was purchased second hand, but seems to work fine and appears to have a normal coil fitted.
However, despite following the instructions, the engine will not fire with the Kill Switch connected. As soon as its disconnected, the engine runs. The LED can be illuminated or off- it makes no difference.
Im using a Core Rc radio with a CR151 receiver.
I have another car - an MCD, so i took the receiver and Kill switch out and swapped everything over. The receiver and killswitch from the FG work fine in the MCD cutting the engine as it should. This shows that both the receiver and Kill switch must be ok, as the model memory was left the same.
The Dynamite and Receiver that were in the MCD were tried in the FG- again leaving the model settings as they were and the problem is still there!
This leaves just a problem with the coil, but i cant see how this would cause an issue. It looks to be a normal Zenoah coil and not a CDI unit.
The engine has a metal plug cap... not sure if this would make any difference. This is the only difference between the two engines in the models.
Any ideas??
