  1. Hi all, I recently got hold of a Tamiya F103GT chassis with LMP shell but the foam tyres are completely shot. It also came with three Tamiya rubber tyres (yes three!), so I was wandering what my options might be tyre wise? Will be run on concrete only so ideally a rubber tyre. The standard wheels seem to have the ribs in to support rubber tyres. I can't find many options online for F1 tyres. I have two old Tamiya rubber rears, but only the one front Thanks, Andy
  2. I might be a bit late here, but the Sakura D4 is a great RWD entry car. Very adjustable and good out the box on standard settings. Weight is fairly central so it's easy to balance, but you will need a gyro to drift it successfully. Mine has had a fair few mods for more steering angle but that's because I run on a technical carpet track. I also have a 4WD D3, but I never use it and am going to convert it to a front motor RWD chassis as it's much more rewarding. If you want anymore info let me know
  3. Sounds good to me too, I'll check out the Facebook group!
  4. Thanks everyone, just need to get the suspension sorted and hopefully it'll run a lot smoother. Might have to hang a flag out the back too!
  5. Here's my current long term project. I always wanted a true scale monster truck and saw a few Axial based ones online. Most use the wider later axles, but I only had my old AX10 to hand. I extended the wheelbase, fitted hub extenders and some JConcepts wheels to get a feel of scale. Then I made custom metal chassis rails and moved the shocks, new body mounts, electrics box and home made four wheel steering. I've also fitted diff gears inside as I thought locked diffs would cause all manor of problems! It's running a 27 turn fan motor with original spur and larger pinion. I run a 2s lipo which is plenty of power. Easily spins all wheels and is a real handful to drive. I think softer springs are needed now and the four wheel steering may have to go back to 2. The shell is a HPI item designed for the savage, but fits this nicely as a true 1/10th scale. Masks were hand cut by me and then sprayed metallic green and black. Still lots to do on this but i'm pleased with it so far. Lovely to run and just enjoy looking at it! Pics and video below. Any questions just ask. If anyone knows of any really soft springs that would fir the original Axial shocks I'd love to know. Here's a quick run video...
  6. Hi all, i'm Andrew from Maidstone in Kent. I've been into RC since a young age and still going strong now at 24. Used to be interested in classic Tamiya's only, but now the collection has widened to cover most areas. I used to race a while ago but now just muck about in the garden and I go to the local drift club every now and then with my RWD D4. I'll post threads for the interesting cars in the builds area. Just getting used to the more modern electrics and have found this site very useful! Hopefully I can share some of my knowledge too. Look forward to posting more! Heres a quick pic of my number 1...
  7. Would you take £25 posted for the Leopard combo? Delivery to Maidstone Kent?
