  1. I'm sure you won't and I'm sure you have a trusted and reliable supplier but just in case I strongly advise NOT to buy from Nitrotek in Stockport. I found them to be awful. No customer support, wouldn't honour their refund policy, AWFUL! All the best with your new purchase.
  2. Hi, Thanks. My new radio gear will be here by Wednesday so, as you say, I can go from there. I'll check out the servos after that. Totally totally agree with you with regard the Kill switch. I thought the failsafe was the answer, only to find out it wasn't. I've had my first run away that was the sudden and scary realisation that this thing was very faulty and potentially very dangerous. Luckily I was in the countryside on a quiet common. That said, the vehicle went mad, sped across a main road and could of gone off the cliff but luckily it rolled onto the roof. If a car had been coming along the main road, doesn't bear thinking about. I've heard a few people talk about a throttle return spring but I'm guessing that has it's flaws too. I'll contact @Jolly_roger_uk to see if I can sort out the switch. All that said, the likes of Nitrotek.co.uk, who sold this dangerous faulty car should: 1. Include a clear warning of the dangers 2. Include this kit in their 'ready to run'.... 'away' cars 3. Not be allowed to simply sell this stuff without clear safety guidance I originally bought this for my 7 year old son. As we have both learned this isn't a toy and is far too much for him. Thanks again. Regards Rich
  3. Thanks for the reply, very helpful. I will look into getting the kill switch. The supplied RX antenna is small, so probably under the coil. I'll change things around to test it in a higher position. I will also check my servos and replace if necessary. Please can you help me identify whether they are analog. Not sure how I would identify this? Could you recommend any suitable ones? Thanks very much Rich
  4. I wondered if anyone can help me find the issue of this really annoying fault ? I bought a Marauder petrol r/c car and from day 2 it's had a fault where it : 1. Either keeps going into failsafe mode or 2. The throttle continually twitches of it's own accord I firstly upgraded from the supplied 1300 maH battery to a 2000 maH. I've now installed a 4600 maH. I changed the RX and TX for a similar IKONIK. I changed the throttle servo. I swapped the channels and then the steering starting twitching, so I assume it's just an issue with this channel 2. My problem still persists. I've also bought a new charger that displays what's going into the battery. This intermittent issue where the throttle will simple control itself, revving the car or sometimes triggering the failsafe to kick in, other times the RX/TX connection seems to simply fail is driving me crazy! I've now changed everything, except the 10kg steering servo. I've just ordered yet another RX/TX, this time a Absima CR3P AFHDS 2.4GHz 3 Channel Radio System in hope that this might cure this ongoing issue. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Hi Two things I can tell you from experience. 1. Definitely DO NOT buy anything from Nitrotek.co.uk just in case that's where you have been looking 2. The FS Marauder 30cc I have bought has been driving me mad and STILL is!!! I so wish I had bought the Blackout MT 1/5 Monster Truck. If this is the same one I was looking at I think it is a little more expensive. £600+ instead of £479.00 but by what I've read it's so much better. My Marauder ran ok for 1 day. Day 2 the electrics have been playing up. I've replaced everything and it's still revving and loosing transmitter connection. I am running out of options of what it could be. I'm now just about to buy a yet another radio RX/TX. Also along the way, light slights packed up. The back wheel track rod broke off. The brakes have played up. The servo arm keeps popping off. I've also heard that the gears wear away rapidly, so maybe that'll be next. From my experience, I so wish I had put in the extra cash and got something quality. Best of luck with whatever you go for. Rich
  6. Hello Ian.

I wondered if your expertise could help me?

I bought a Marauder petrol r/c car and I've had nothing but trouble.

With the help of my local shop, Avicraft, Bromley, we've replaced the throttle servo, battery, RX/TX and my problem still persists.

This being that intermittently the throttle will simple control itself, revving the car.

Sometimes the failsafe kicks in, other times the RX/TX connection simply fails.

This car was supplied with a 1300 maH battery. I upgraded to a 2000 maH but I'm thinking the issue must be loss of voltage so have ordered a 4600 mah, the biggest 6v battery I could find.

Do you think I'm heading in the right direction?

I love the car but it's scary having this thing scream off !!

    :-)

Sounds like you could have a faulty radio system could either the Rx Or The Tx more likely to be the Rx. Any chance you have or borrow an Rx and Tx to put in it to try.

      Hi Ian

Thank you so much for the reply.

Yes I have swapped out everything, only to have the issue re-appear.

That's why I'm at a bit of a dead end, thinking it must be a battery supply issue.

With the new RX/TX swap it was the same.

      Thanks again.

      Rich
