  1. Will probably go for function over originality if I'm honest! Which I'm sure will upset a few people but I'll just be happy to see it running again
  2. That would explain why I was finding it so hard to find details anywhere for it! To my amateur eyes the the chassis, springs and gearing etc looked to be in good condition. It was the motor, esc and servo that looked a little tired. That being said replacements for these should be relatively easy to source, that is as long as I don't try to replace 'like for like'? I would no doubt use the Losi for bashing with my boy down the park and reserve the Predator for special occasions as you said. I had a sneaky suspicion it must be quite rare so it's nice to have it confirmed
  3. Yea pretty much from what I can remember, I'm on the coast near Brighton and got a couple of model shops relatively local so might pick them both up tomorrow from the aunties and grab a new charger on my way back
  4. A quick google images search suggests it's a mlst2 I think. Will try to get some pics up tomorrow to save the guess work!
  5. Tried to charge a the new nimh batteries I had with me and they were showing the same problem! Apologies if i missed something obvious! @evssv
  6. There was a couple, the newest looking one could charge lipo and nimh. Couldn't find the cable that would fit lipo for the Losi (it's not very organised as there's about 6 RC Helicopters in there too!). I did find a cable that fit the nimh batteries I had for the boys Strada. I attempted to charge both of them and the charger kept showing 'connection break' regardless of what amps I charged at and trying a couple of different cables which had tamiya connections.
  7. Was just thinking some pictures might have been useful! I'll have to pop round there and take a few snaps. I was leaning towards the Losi if I'm honest, as finding info on the Predator on the internet is pretty difficult! It also looks in better condition and pretty much RTR to my eyes. They are both electric, the Losi runs on a Li-po so I would need a charger and possibly a new battery. The Predator has a few old NiMh batteries in the box (of which I have a charger and batteries for the boys Strada) but the ESC and motor look a bit past it and it's lacking a shell. Which ever way I go I was gonna strip them right down as it will hopefully give me an opportunity to get my knowledge up
  8. New to the forum so apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place! I'm also very new to RC cars so again apologies for my severe lack of knowledge! After visiting my Aunties with my son at the weekend so he could show off his new RC Car (Maverick Strada MT). I was pointed in the direction of my late uncles shed and told to have a dig. What I discovered was various chargers, wheels, batteries and many parts which I won't pretend to know what they are. The best part was uncovering a Tenth Technology Predator Circa 1995 and a 1/18th Losi MT which I'm still struggling to name. Most of the batteries and chargers looked pretty past it so I didn't attempted to get them running. My questions is, bare in mind they have been sat in a shed unused for the best part of 4-5 years what would likely be the easier model to try and get up and running again? I'll be honest that up until a few weeks back I knew nothing about RC Cars and it's only thanks to YouTube and forums that I have some very basic knowledge now. I would like to get them both fixed up eventually (budget permitting) but just curious as to what people think would be the best starting place? Any advise would be much appreciated as I would love to get them going again and I know my Auntie would be chuffed to see one of the family enjoying them again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Hey! I've always liked RC cars, but never taken the plunge for whatever reason. That was until my sons 9th birthday this week when I decided to get him his first hobby grade RC car in the form of a Maverick Strada MT (the brushed version). First of all he absolutely loves it and I'm really chuffed that it was money well spent as he is already keen on learning exactly how it all works and how we can change out components, wheels and shells down the line. The slightly unexpected side affect of this purchase is that im enjoying it just as much as he is (which i secrectly knew would probably happen!) and I now need my own car as I don't see me getting a look in with his most of the time which is how it should be really! Thought id join the forum as most of my RC related google searches brought me to really useful posts on here and thought why not get involved! Charlie (Shoreham By Sea UK)
