  1. I'm getting a refund for the duff battery and they don't want it either
  2. Well I finally got around to fitting the smaller pinion and it doesn't seem to have made much difference, guess I'll be stripping down the difs this weekend to check for any other damage
  3. Nothing too exciting just some 35 shock oil and some Velcro straps
  4. Thought as much. Back to the seller I go :(. Thanks for the help
  5. I've used a multimeter and I'm getting 1 cell at 2.1v1 and the other is 1.2v. So I take it the battery is dead??
  6. I've tried different power leads in the battery as well as different balance boards and balance leads. Even tried it in both channels on the charger and still nothing. I try a meter and test it
  7. I'm new to all this Lipo batteries stuff but I have bought 2x Floureon 2S 5200mA 30C and one seems to be broke. When its connected to my charger its only shows 3.30v and all the cells read 0.00v. If I try and charge it, the charger comes back with a 'connection break' error. I have tried different leads and balance boards but the result is the same. So is there anything I can do or is it dead and I should return it??
  8. Ta. I'll check that out tonight, a bit of light reading while the footie is on
  9. I had planned to straighten the shaft at the weekend, so I will check the diffs as well. Any recommendations on any grease to use??
  10. Yeah everything seems to be running freely. I'll try a smaller pinion, it looks like the stock is 17t so I'll grab a 15t to start with. Cheers for the help
  11. Seeing as I'm just getting back into RC I've had a few bits over the last week but today it was 2 Lipo's, some heatshrink and 100 body clips because my son and me keep losing them lol
  12. It gets used on a mixture of short grass and tarmac at the local park. It seems to have only starting overheating since the crash last week, hence me looking at the drivetrain binding in some way
  13. Thanks guys. I still like the Tamiya and will probably look at getting a newer one but for the mean time I'm have fun bashing the ECX amp
  14. My sons FTX Bugsta has started overheating the motor and battery to the point you can't touch them. The car is stock and has hardly been used. He broke the suspension last week, which has been repaired, but the drive shaft is slightly bent could that be the cause?? But I have checked that the spur and pinion are set right and the wheels are free running and not binding and all seems to be ok there. As I'm still finding my way again in the RC world after a 15yr absence, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
  15. I've been lurking for a while and have gained a lot of valuable info so I thought I would say Hi. I'm just getting back into RC again with my boy, I have the ECX Amp and he has the FTX Bugsta. I have already swapped out the all in one esc/reciever and got Lipo's on order. And my son has already broke suspension on his Bugsta I have a few cars from my youth and have dug them out from my parents attic, so will be looking at restoring them. Two are Tamiya TL-01, a Subaru Impreza No3 McRae/Grist and a Alfa Romeo 155. And the third is from the early 90's, a Mud Blaster minus the body :( (but with the box)
