  1. I'm hopin so too lol it won't be anything to amazing as I'm on a budget!! Would be nice to buy some shiny portal axles but not got cash so will see what happens!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  2. So I got my first crawler at Xmas a hobao dc1 an I'm loving it!! So as I like to tinker with stuff I have decided to build my own!! This isn't goin to be fancy it's goin to use spare parts I have sat around and cheapish parts for bits I don't have!! Other stuff will be a learning curve an built myself!! So first thing I decided on was body shell I was goin to go with a unimog but I then decided to go with the tamiya scorcher instead so I got one ordered an then figured out some chassis rails an some mounts for shocks Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  3. Loving both of them dude!! Did I read that right over a metre in length!! That's a big rig dude Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  4. I don't drink I do smoke no hangover for me today! Loving the rig mate!! Will get something like this one day but think will have to wait till kids have moved out before I can afford one!! Enjoy your day!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  5. Cheers I do like that bc8 it's quite impressive!! That's on my wish list though!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  6. Wow 392 coats don't fancy spending that long painting lol!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  7. I notice there are x an xf paints can they still be painted on top of each other?? Truck looks good!! Is that a cross or rc4wd Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  8. So I need some help I'm in process of building a scorcher crawler an I'm sort of trying to figure out what colours to paint the shell!! I want to go down the old knackered look but I'm wondering can I use the tamiya mini acrylic paints an airbrush these on?? Or are they more designed for there model kits!! Or can anyone recommend some better paint I can use instead?? Thanks in advance Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  9. Nice didn't even realise could get the sport in kit form!! An all the extra parts added to it!! If you buy RTR most of them parts attached to body shell are all extras!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  10. Looking good dude now get out an enjoy it!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  11. Sponge should be fine dude!! An warm soapy water!! Bit of fairy liquid in water good clean an dry thoroughly before paint!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  12. Be careful dude if you put to much water in shell you may ruin your masking tape!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  13. Did you give shell a good wash on inside!! They can have a oily substance on inside that helps them release from mold!! Other than that just make sure edges of masking tape are stuck properly an give it light coats of paint!! Better to paint it few times than just blast it all in one coat!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  14. Nice sticker bomb!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  15. Yea sorry wasn't meaning to sound patronising!! But if you made some larger plastic ones would spread load!! Would hate for you to do all work mounting it an then if it rolls over it breaks shell!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  16. I didn't use the wheels on scout they were for my hobao crawler!! I have just taken wheel an put on scout axles an it works fine!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  17. I have no idea if that mount is any good or not!! I would recommend that when you mount this too the shell that you put some small peices of plastic on inside of shell to spread the load!! Like a large washer!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  18. Yea right parts dude but £23 for 2 plastic wheels sucks!! These cost me £8 each £34 for 5!! I found with my scout centre of gravity is quite high so kept falling over!! So I added sticky backed wheel weights to counter balance it!! Which fixed problem but if had known before would have just brought metal wheels instead!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  19. Can't really see wheel properly but I'm sure if you punched maverick scout wheel into eBay it would pop up some sort of sale!! That little rig looks a lot faster than mine was!! Think it's probably got a faster motor in it!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  20. Just clicked on site wheelbase is 305 mm!!l when you cut shell you may have too trim little more off inner edge of wheel arch for it to fit properly!! Either that or new chassis rails an stretch length of truck!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  21. Try measuring from wheel nut to wheel nut will give you wheel base size!!yes will need to spray inside of shell!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  22. Been getting my tamiya paint from euro car parts!! They even do click collect!! Not sure on stock wheel base of scout but that lexan shell is 313 mm!! But you could probably trim to correct size!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  23. That sucks sorry dude!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  24. I was looking for a crawler before Xmas an was looking at the ftx outbacks!! Only down I could find were the little motors!! Have you looked at the carisma sca1e? Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  25. You will need lexan paint though!! It's more flexible an has something in it which helps it stick to shell!! If I'm right acrylic paint is more for hard bodies!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
