  1. Evening all.

My kyosho axxe has lost its teeth on the spur gear. Does anybody know if there is a metal 91t available out there for them? Because it's got a hex shape center it has given me limited options for any spur in general. Is it easier to change the shaft that the spur fits on or do I just have to accept keeping it as plastic?

  2. Evening all.

My brother in law has bought a tidy Hornet but we've put a business setup into it. We haven't overpowered it or anything silly but because the front wheels are so slim they are shredding pretty quick.

Could anyone recommend some wheels with a bit more width and slightly larger that would go straight onto it? He wants to change the rears too.

    TIA

  3. Are those engines going for that un used for nearly a decade?

i too would've bought it for £15. You've done the right thing, but thinking it's worth any more is delusional. It wasn't even worth £350 when it was new, it's a very dubious car, by a very dubious manufacturer. If it was worth more, it wouldn't have cost £15 would it.

Run it and enjoy it, but don't think you've got some deal of the century that's all [emoji4]

I'm not saying that at all but the engine isn't standard. Granted the rest of the car is but the lady I bought it from found it in her garage and wanted rid. It was her ex husbands. I do think £350 is steep too but that was including the glow starter kit. I'm well happy with it for that price. I've just fitted the new pull start that came with it and now just waiting for a new filter then will see how it goes.

It might be a pain in the arse for parts cos of the brand but it is built like a tank. I'm hoping it will last cos this is my 1st nitro and I'm more into electric.

  4. I'm guessing it has 27mhz? If so good luck getting £15 for it lol.

id have paid £15 for it myself, but it's probably not worth much more tbh

Just looked up the engine and they sell for anything between £65 used and £110 new. So I'm more than happy with £15. I'm not sure where you get the chance to get a £15 rc car these days either other than once in a blue moon. The way I see it anyway, I bought a £350 setup (receipts she supplied) thats hardly used for £15.

    Can't go wrong. :)

  5. Hi all,

Picked this NT buggy up today and was just wondering what it would be worth these days? Any idea?

It is a 1/8 flying point Probe 2000. It's had a different exhaust put on it and I think the engine may be different too? The lady I bought it from told me it was hardly used hence why they sold it. It was kept in storage for over 10yrs so needs a new pull start, tyres and air filter. Other than that it's like new.

Sorry for the picture quality. My phone died yesterday so using an old thing until mines repaired.

  6. Which car would be useful

Currently a Maverick strada 1/10 truggy but I'm looking at stocking up on a few sizes just to cover me for my other cars.

  7. Hi all

Where can I get the screws and sleeves that fit into the bottom of the steering knuckle? I've lost a couple and can't find any replacements without having to buy the whole knuckle with it?

    Thanks in advance.

  8. I would leave the stock spur but run a smaller pinion as you should gear down at least 4 teeth from stock running something hefty like that, going up 16 teeth on the spur is quite a big jump so the motor could be hitting its top revs way quicker and just overheating badly. If you stick with the 55t, run the stock pinion and test the temps. I had to drop 5 teeth on my FTX hooligan after putting a 9 turn motor in there. Also, brushless has a finer sweetspot compared to brushed. Id also drop the motor timing to minimum and also the acceleration, should cool the motor by a good 10 degrees.

OK, thanks for the help mate. I'll try this on my rolling chassis. That's going to be my test car now. :)

  9. Well if it's bulletproof then it's not unfortunate as you will never need parts.

OK, maybe not quite bulletproof but all I've needed so far is a spur gear due to a stone getting wedged and rounding off some of the teeth. [emoji1]

  10. Thinking about it, it's best asking you guys really as I'm obviously no professional. I want to get this thing a bit quicker. What sort of motor combo would you go for with a buggy? And what gears?

  11.

BSD racing http://www.bsdracing.com/app/menu.php?op=index they have collaboration of some sort with Century (uk parts distribution?)

Unfortunately like Guns says for the lesser known brands parts can be hard to find/expensive.

Yeah, unfortunate too because these flux assaults are bulletproof. It's that good I bought another rolling chassis. Just wish I had more knowledge on compatible parts and setting up the esc to reverse again. :(

  12. As in a bit too hesitant? Could be cogging, I'm still not happy with your gearing. What motor was in it before?

It's got the same setup back in there now as it was standard. Still can't get reverse properly and it does seem to cog a bit at slower speeds.

The setup is a stock bsd 3259kv brushless motor combo. If I could find who manufactures the bsd's it would be easier so I could buy more parts and upgrades but It's a nightmare. The parts on century are very expensive.

  13. A better starting point would be your 55t spur and 15t pinion.

Did you calibrate the esc to the trasmitter?

I believe so yes. Although it's still a bit strange at times getting it to go forwards/backwards. It takes sometimes 3/4 attempts on the trigger to get it to move.

  14. I don't know enough about the buggy but to me, A 5.5t in a BSD sounds too powerful to me. What is the stock pinion and spur, and what is the stock motor? A general rule when going too a faster motor is to gear down?

stock was 15/39 and now you're at 24/55 with a more powerful motor?

Just sorted it now mate. Pit the stock gears back on and it's perfectly fine. Just had to slow it down a bit though on the program card as I knew it would be fast. The only problem now is that it's faster in reverse. Can you change that on the ezrun escs or do I have to resolder wires over on the motor?

  15. It's a bsd flux assault. I was told it should be fine in it. Basically I needed a new spur gear so was sent this set with the guy saying it would be alright in there. Will it be alright with the old gears back in there do you think?
