Wow there's some great looking boats here
  2. well thank you kind people of the forum, Its all built up now, and wow it goes really well. much much faster than my maverick ION DT The Direction I went was to build it as a normal touring car and once i get used to using a fast tarmac monster I will then look at upgrading the parts to metal hop ups and then later to drift. For now I'm going to start enjoying painting more body shells. Thanks again Ben.
  3. HPI do the same thing in 20T and it says that is brushed. would that be my suggested start, I'm really sorry for all these daft questions where I cant match motor and ESC and battery.
  4. well im thinking of a HPI Firebolt 15t Motor (540 Type) motor and a Hobbywing QUICRUN 1060 Brushed Waterproof ESC and run it and a Alturn USA High Performance Race Servo (High Speed) is this an okay start as its within my budget. Ben.
  5. Sorry I'm not ignoring your comment, if I was trying to get into the RC cars on a more permanent basis I would go along and try some racing, as it is I have far too many hobbies, so mainly wanting some fun on those mucky car parks. looking at some of this kit I'm going to have to revise my budget.
  6. thanks for your responses guys I'm planning on buying most things from modelsport as its not too far away from where I live so could go there in person. As for motors what T rating am I looking for? possibly looking at modelsport for a new brushed motor and a hobby wing 1060 confused what connectors I need to buy it with though. also do I need a drift spec servo then? much appreciate your responses
  7. Hi all been a while since I been on here I've been using my RC laser without problems for a while now and has made a lot of my other models redundant. So as the title, have I bitten off more than I can chew with buying a TT01-E chassis kit, I wanted to have a new project and I though maybe I can start from a scratch build so I can make it how I want. I was thinking of going drift style with it but now I'm thinking that maybe that's too specialist when i don't have too much experience with RC cars (only have a mavervick ION DT offroader) and too complicated to setup right. now I'm struggling to figure out what extra parts I need for this build. I've ordered body and wheels but have no idea what battery, ESC, and Motor combo to use, not to mention and upgraded parts to allow for a nice brushless motor don't really fancy Lipo power though as I hate the thought of exploding batteries but maybe a nice cheap balance charger and I will be okay. maybe you guys could even convince me to upgrade my RC boats to Lipo. So can anyone help me with a list of parts to get it up and running and suggestions for parts also. So far I've got the wheels, tyres and body shell ordered. (standard tyres not drift) I will start the list off - Motor - ESC - Servo - Battery - Wheels - Ordered and on there way - Tyres - ordered and on there way - Body - Ordered and on there way Funny isn't it I only really want a 1:10 scale RC car as I love painting the shells. when my mate used to get a new shell i used to do the painting of it nothing mega fancy just a racing stripe or too but I found it therapeutic. Regards Ben.
  8. thanks for your help. Ive investigated why one broke and compared it to the otherside which isnt broken it seems that the bottom cap comes off by pushing upwards and slides off the main rod of teh shock. i will order a pair of standard and superglue the bottom mount to ensure it doesnt come off the new ones. Thanks Ben.
  9. think ive found out this needs to be in mini and micro sorry can it be moved?
  10. Hi all I'm new to the RC car world. I have a few boats but fancied a off-road truck for some years now so i finally purchased a maverick Ion DT (desert truck) all was going great till i decided to make a small ramp off the stairs in the garden and full speed jump. which knocked the bottom support of the front right suspension shock so im wondering if there would be a nice new upgraded parts for this or should i just buy some standard ones. Thanks Ben
