  1. I have been in the process of updating my old TL01 for the past year now and am looking for some advice on the potential motor options available. Currently it has a TBLE-02 s ESC and Tamiya sport tuned motor. The performance of this motor left me a bit underwhelmed so would like better performance. The car is only used for bashing. The car has full metal bearings, speed tuned gears and oil shocks as well as some other minor upgrades. I have done a bit of research but I am not sure whether to go down the brushless motor route or buy a better brushed motor. I have set aside about £100. I see my options as being either: 1) buy a better motor (brushless or brushed) for the TBLE-02s Or 2) buy a new esc and brushless motor combo (Etronix Photon or Hobbywing XERUN). I have read a 13.5t should be suitable. Just looking for any recommendations, open to suggestions as well. Also, on a side note is it worthwhile running a brushless motor on a Ni-MH battery or would i need to get a Lipo battery and charger? Don't want to buy a brushless motor to only have marginal gains over my current set up using a Ni-MH. Cheers.
  2. Good news is I have found a HPI mondeo btcc on ebay by a german seller. Bad news is it is a 190mm body. In think this is the same issue for the other vintage Tamiya bodies i.e. the Opel . Anyone tried putting a 190mm body on a 200mm chassis? I assume it will be a disaster, I am imaging tyres rubbing against the body.
  3. Thanks for your quick responses. Ideally the HPI Ford Mondeo (200mm) 1999 BTCC car. Some good suggestions I will see if I can find the Tamiya 'Rapid Fit' Mondeo. The Opel GSI looks good, a John Cleland 1995 livery would be amazing!
  4. Hi everyone. I am new to the fourms. I have owned nitro models for the last 10 years and used them on and off. Currenlty I am in the process of fixing a HPI RS4 2 as a gift to my brother. Mechanically it has now been sorted but I am now looking to put the finishing touches with a new body shell. I am looking for a HPI Ford Mondeo BTCC 200mm body but to be honest I am struggling. It appears that this shell has been discontinued for quite a while now. The only one I can find is being sold by HPI Japan on Amazon and they want £120.00 (seriously, google it). I saw the shell on HeathsRCModels, bought it using paypal but was promptly refunded and told it was not in stock. Does anyone have any idea where i can obtain this shell. I appreciate this is a bit of a long shot but any help would be greatly appreciated. If it is untainable are there any other British Touring Car bodyshells available from the super tourer era? Cheers Andy
