  1. I was watching this truck :p, Halifax isn't that far from me so would have collected but didn't have the time to go down and view it. Looks spot on.

Can you not get stronger 12mm hex? Made of steel or something. It's completely ripped the hex off. Back wheel is wobbling like mad too. Think that's another that's on its way out. Need to strip it down.

Well this happened today... any idea why this happened and how I can prevent it from happening again?
  4. They always state in the description that no refunds due to the nature of the hobby? Thought PayPal's hands are tied there.
  5. I've been following your progress on your thread. Very very impressed. Speaking to my local shop today and he had a customers rc he was selling, no engine, servos or receiver. MCD Racing buggy. £275. Looked very good and we'll built. Also had a dbxl in there belonging to another customer. That was practically brand new! Looked mint. Huge.

My local shop recommended that as well so got some fresh neon pink fuel line to put in tomorrow :p, advised the engine is too lean and as for the loss of 4 wheel drive... A grub screw had popped out fitted me one for free. Nerds a good strip down and clean, think I'll crack on early with it tomorrow then take it out to get abused later in the day
  7. Ahh I see, I wouldn't want to fit bigger wheels than the ones I've got now to be honest. Those tyres are very very nice, I tend to rip this car about on the roads more so than on gravel/dirt. I'm starting to wear down the tyres, those Pro lines look really good! Just a tad pricey for me at the minute. You see a set of on eBay and I one bought some for like £20 and they were the right fitting (12mm hex) but they were tiny :/ looked big in the pictures. For ripping it about on the road what's the best type of tyre to use?
  8. Thanks for the reply yes the upgrades will be purely for sentimental reasons, I'll never sell this car I think so I dont mind throwing some money at it. Nothing stupidly high though Regarding wheel size...You mention ESC with tyre size? that affects it? Been looking online for parts but can't find any. Any links to parts will be much appreciated

I'll fiddle with the tuning later on today. Hopefully that sorts it, think there's more to the front wheels not turning than just a worn hex, all dog bones turn and drive shaft turns. There's no 'resistance' at all.

Hmm I did leave it standing with fuel in the tank for nearly a month, surely it wont turn to jelly that quick? might strip it down and clean out the pipes. I've also lost front wheel drive :/ back wheels turn with the throttle but front are non responsive. Diff surely can't be shot
  11. Thank you for you advice very informative. The thing is i KNOW i want a 1/5th scale. I'm watching more youtube videos of 5th scale bashing than I would care to admit...bordering on the obsessive ha. The comparison with the slash was purely for the shape of the vehicle, I suppose I should have said losi 5ive shape. I'm not too fussed about having to travel a little, I never expected there to be a custom built track within walking distance. I have a car so I could always store the vehicle in the boot, as I do with my 10th scales although the banging about cant be good for them. I've been following the chap who's rebuilding his lose 5ive and it looks like the most time consuming, money sapping fun one can have Will you be selling your 5ive?....(probably not for the money I have available ha) Looking at the forum members, It seems a lot of your are down south, Yorkshire has ample outdoor space so I'm really surprised with the lack of popularity it has here. More than likely I'll pick one up after the next pay day at the end of the month. My next mission is to find out how to take delivery of it without anyone at home finding out. Apparently I'm too old for these toys It's a good job no one knows what I've spent on lipos and nitro fuel and parts...lol. Might and eye on the sales section too. Off to the RC shop now to spend money I dont have

Hi, anyone have any idea why on full throttle the engine would start dying out then pick back up when you ease off it or in some cases just cut out. Picked the car up, full throttle, wheels spinning full blast, then it slows down and picks back up. Almost as if I'm taking my finger off the throttle but I'm not. Any ideas? It's a hbx tribe truggy, use it to bash about in.
  13. Based in Sheffield, even with nitros I have a little place where me and my mate go just to rip them about. An old factory, with a side road for any speed runs etc. No where near enough room for a fifth scale. Can't think of anywhere where I could rip one about say maybe the field at the local park but going round in circles can be boring ha. Spoke to my mate about getting one but he's just had a kid so no chance of him spending 350+ on one. I've always liked the idea of owning one and then racing it about. I'm sure some of you will have seen RC Sparks videos on YouTube. Those fifth scale races and his track. Wish there was somewhere like that around here. As for electric , great to just rip about in but for me the whole buzz is listening to an engine screech like mad. As for upgrades, I'd be more inclined to upgrade a petrol one than electric, I seem to have less issues with electric rcs than I do with anything that has an engine so more weary about having stock on engine rcs. It's quite depressing when you think about how few the options are to find a place to bash compared to other countries.
  14. How much is one of those? (bear in mind my knowledge and know how of 5th scale is limited, spent most of my time around nitros) Been reading up. Kill switches, do they not come with them fitted? Would have thought that would have been a must.
  15. Sorry the post was ambiguous lol. I was comparing the x2 with the baja. The losi 5ive is the one that's got me wanting a 5th scale but expensive. So what is the baja a copy of? Good for bashing? It looks thin on the chasis front... Im renowned for breaking chasis...
