  1. So basically i've had my firestorm for several months now….never had a problem with the pullstart until the other day…Basically when I pull the pull start it isn't "stuck" it is actually the complete opposite…it just pulls like a loose piece of shoelace coming through a hole….When I remove the pull start and checked the one way bearing it was not the bearing that seems to be the problem…There is a metal rod that sticks out from the engine which the one way bearing sits on and then the pullstart is placed over this and screrwed in…However the problem is that if I push this metal rod in as hard as I can towards the engine and turn it, it locks in like it should for a good pull start….what is happening here? It's not the actual pull start or the one way bearing….has something worn away inside the engine? It feels like it…which part would it be? Thanks for all your help in advance.
  2. Thanks for the info, but I have only bumped once today. Sorry
  3. http://s1055.photobucket.com/user/Joe_Westlake/library/?view=recent&page=1 (trophy is the top photo) Here for sale is a HPI Trophy 3.5 buggy that I picked up in a house clearance. I have seen this buggy running but the guy used a different starter box to get it going. Im not sure if the starter box is working as I do not have a battery to test it. There is not receiver in the car but has a flysky transmitter. Everything included is in the picture. The clutch needs fitting (3 pin flywheel aluminium clutch) but all parts are there. The buggy has an RB S7 .21 3.5 world racing engine fitted. Has pair of brand new rear shocks. Local pick up in Bristol or postage for the right price. £120 unposted.
  4. Thanks man! I think so too, it's a lot beefier than the DSX-1 that's for sure
  5. http://s1055.photobucket.com/user/Joe_Westlake/library/Mobile%20Uploads?page=1&sort=3 (copy and pasted photo bucket album because links wouldn't work) Here is my upgraded and customised Firestorm 10T! I know these cars are only little bashers but this is my first proper RC car and I'm fairly proud of the way I've got it looking so thought I'd give you guys a gander! the bodyshell is only a cheapish one meant for an electric try car but with some different holes drilled and a bit of trimming down it fits the car like a dream. I've installed green LEDs at the front and white at the back as well as a light bar on the roof and some green neon strips (one of which I drilled through to get the light bar on, oops, ordered some new ones though) I had a spare T-15 engine which I stole the cooling head from because I thought it looked pretty cool to be honest. upgrades include: hpi racing fuel filter cvp aluminium racing air filter answer 2 shoe aluminium clutch neon green fuel lines 18T clutchbell for slightly better pull off the line integy front aluminium bumper integy aluminium pull start handle customised spur gear pink locking nuts for the wheels neon green antenna custom pained wheels custom painted shocks (waiting on some nice aluminium ones) Subapu RC bodyshell green and white led headlights 4 mode led light bar I'm also waiting for some aluminium front a arms, front shock tower and bulk head brace from integy which I can't wait to get (I know a lot people don't like integy but I think their parts look great, also considering I don't use this much at all I just like to hop it up and make it look good ) I know a lot of these upgrades may be seen as unnessasary but I'm well pleased with it so far, let me know what you guys think!
  6. Thanks mate, could you possibly send a link? That would be great! I'll have a look now though
  7. I've been looking for a polished tuned aluminum pipe for my HPI firestorm but they are discontinued by HPI, 3rd party websites don't seem to have them either and any I found on ebay were already "ended"…Why are these things so hard to get hold of?! Does anyone know where to get one or recommend one that would give the same performance as the original HPI manufactured one? Plus it looks really nice I'm just so gutted I can't find one and I'm a bit dubious of spending my money on one what won't fit or will maybe lower the performance of my car. Help? Thanks. If anyone has one for sale as well that would be amazing, hence posting here
  8. Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but I'm pretty new here still. 9. Thanks for the eagerness to help but turned out the engine was running way to lean causing the carb slide to heat up and stick inside of the housing…Fixed it by richening the little guy and now it runs fine, not more sticking
  10. No need to reply, have sorted this problem, could admin delete this topic?
  11. So I've finally got my second hand firestorm up to running, only problem is it won't brake at all...I've noticed that the brake linkage is pushing all the way over towards the carb, where as my brand new RTR firestorm's linkage is in the correct position. (Comparison pictures shown) what could this be? Is something wrong inside of the transmission box? What's going on here? And help or advice would be very welcome as this problem has left me scratching my head for the last day or so. I've tried to re adjust the throttle servo position but this just leaves the carb slide wide open, besides this, the brakes don't really seem to work either way? I am somewhat of noob to nitro but, could I just need a new transmission box? Or does it need taking apart and maybe a spring replacing? Seems like something inside of it just isn't holding it in the right position.
  12. work** Also the arm brake linkage arm does not seem to reset itself to neutral? Just stays in a braking position after applying brakes.
  13. Thank you, you wouldn't know anything about the brake on the firestorm would you? I've just sorted the mesh out the way you suggested, worked perfectly But the next problem is my brakes just don't work, on the firestorm I purchased from new I can push the brass arm all the way in (nearly) but on this one I can't budge it a mm….the brakes don't wonk at all unless I really push the linkage hard with my hand….any idea what it could be?
  14. Nice, thanks guys, the dremel sounds like my best bet,
  15. Sweet, I might just buy some and see how they go
  16. Instantly caught my attention. Would they not work in really muddy conditions or is that just an all round bad idea? haha
  17. Cheers man! They have some kickass stuff! thank you
  18. Also, thanks to everyone for your replies! Been a massive help
  19. P.s: I have loosened the brake disc plates so that's one potential problem ruled out
  20. wow, thats great thanks. I didn't think there would be a way to sort it! I will go with the torx bit first Before I try this though, is it actually a mesh problem I'm having? The car is fairly hard to push, it won't keep rolling when I push and the pinion and spur gear make a weird whining noise when it's pushed or when the engine is revved. Does this sound like a badly set mesh to you? Thanks again!
  21. Thanks for the info everyone, my pullstart broke as it was looking quite old and worn out anyway….just ordered as new one so just gonna wait for that and see what I can do afterwards….In relation to changing the mesh, I went to do it and it seems that the guy before me has actually rounded off the hex nuts on the bottom?! So no chance of fixing that issues I don't think…
