Cheers I'll have a look around when it comes to upgrade time. Ive just got some of those "floureon" 3s 8000mah 40c battery's that are (according to dimensions) a perfect fit for the xmaxx. I got them at £27 each. Well worth a try IMO.

The only price I've seen the xlx/2028 is around £400 in the uk. Is that the going rate or is it cheaper to import ? Just wondering for future reference

I'd imagine so, I've just not got time to be finding out the thread pitch, length and quantity of every type of screw I'd need.

The big traxxas reveal thing is at 7pm. Guns I've seen people with a stainless screw kit for the xmaxx in the us. Think it was a "RC screwz" kit or something like that.

To get motor temps etc on my iPhone do I just need the Bluetooth module for the tx? Or do I need sensors etc ? If so I take it this feature won't work if the esc is changed or does it run through the receiver ? Guns by the sounds of it the yanks are struggling to get to get parts, I'd imagine over here will be even worse atm? It would be rather annoying waiting months for that one part lol.

What amp is the stock system ? I understand people going to the mamba monster stuff for reliability but I'd my rather save for an xlx/xl2, plenty power there and the option to run 8s. Go go easy on me if I'm missing something, I'm new to the high voltage 1/5 brushless systems.

Out of interest how would one of those trackstar 200amp Escs compare ?

MMR sell the original losi 5ive 26cc minus radio gear for 850ish if I remember correctly ? That's where my money would go. I've seen the x2s and the ally and plastic is a lot cheaper looking.

All radios have stuff you won't use, it's just good to have them if u ever need the,, the dx4s feels great in your had, the most ergonomic handset I've used. Plus it's menus and settings are easy to navigate and understand.

Ones stronger, ones slightly faster. If they do take off spares wise I'll defiantly be getting one. Just after looking into them I saw that even rcmk were showing out of stock with spares etc.

It may well be too much, however it should become a more reliable 6s truck with that combo and the torque will be better thus opening greater gearing options, fingers crossed. I don't plan on ever using the self righting etc which should protect the driveline. From what I've seen the tyres let the truck down above 40mph and it becomes uncontrollable. Hopefully aftermarket options will help out there. Before ordering I was considering building a brushless 5ive/dbxl but then I remember the main thing that attracted me to this was its monster truck platform.

If it's aload of rubbish I'll be the first to go running to traxxas and expressing my views on the truck with them and others. Until then I'm keeping my opinions open and fingers crossed hopeing it will be awesome. I do plan on fitting a xlx/2028 combo when I'm bored with its stock power, then 8s. Just like when u buy a Baja/losi 5. You know the stock 26/29cc engine and standard pipe isn't going to cut it and will be replaced. Doesn't mean there not great rc's. One thing I do hope happens is the hopup market grow and largescale suppliers such as irp, joffer, uber etc start working on these trucks.

Your right carpmart some very good points/solutions have been raised in this thread. Sadly there's a lot of people's rather stupid theories and thoughts about what's going on with the xmaxx's now that over shadow them. Sorry if i came across that way, but come one traxxas employee ? That's some conspiracy lol. I'm not a traxxas fan boy either and I don't have favorite manufactures I just like and buy which ever RC takes my fancy at the time (I love RC as we all do right?) This is the only truck that has raised my eyebrows in the past few years tbh. The only other traxxas I've had is a slash which was awesome if this is half as good I'll be happy.

That's the problem with the whole of this thread. It's full of everyone's thoughts and very little acctualy facts. I've been looking over this thread for the last few weeks (it comes up when you Google x-max uk) and the amount of absolute garbage in it is un-real. The majority is from people who have no idea at all on the truck and know very little about it compared to those genuine intrested in one who have spent a lot of their spare time reading up on this gaining info from reputable sources and watching genuine reviews from acctual users and known rc groups who have had 1st person experiences with the truck. Luckily this thread hasn't effected my desicion to purchase one and I hope many other UK buyers turn a blind eye to it as I did. Because like I said it comes up in Google as an early hit and it would be a shame if they don't take off over this side of the pond.

I have just preordered one from ms and will be paying 759. I'm really looking forward to receiving my truck. The truck, 50t spur, deans connectors, 4x 3s 6400mah lipos, a decent 300watt charger and power supply stands me at around 1000, and tbh there's no other rc I'd rather spend that kind of money on atm. Maybe if we had some more info/dates on the new Kraken 1/5th I'd of held out for that. But atm there even more vague info wise that the x-maxx. My plans are install the 50t spur, get some decent fans fitted and enjoy. I'm really looking forward to bashing a proper MT after the savage flux I had was good but too unstable (and overpowered), and I could never bring myself to buy a erevo due to price and several bad things I'd read on them.
