  1. Thanks ! yeah they are happy to replace it, must of been a dodgy motor as it was the first 5 mins of use from new. Thanks again Gents

Greetings all after the first 5 mins of running from on a full charge my maverick iON Sc died and smelt of burning - orgionally i thought it was just the heat of the motor along with the fresh new plastics but following another charge it remains dead although the steering servo still works. since then i have connected up a volt meter to make sure there is power going to the motor from the esc which there is so im near certain the motor has packed in - question is, the voltage coming from the battery (which is a 7.2v 1200mAh Ni-MH ) is showing as 8.2v - is this ok or could the higher voltage been whats killed the motor? apologies if this is a stupid question - this is my first RC since child hood lol Hpi/Maverick have said they will replace it but just want to be sure its only the motor incase the second one follows the same death
